Twelve-year-old Kien is just an ordinary village boy who dreams of attending the finest sword school in the Kingdom. Little does he know that events have long conspired to launch him on the greatest adventure of his life. Hounded by enemies he never knew he had, Kien embarks on a dangerous journey of discovery, of redemption and destiny - a journey to Forge Mountain.
What a true diamond in the rough. I was recommended this book by my sister as a fun read. I didnt expect much, but boy was I wrong. It turned out to be a page turner. The first of a trilogy, it's a non-stop adventure of a young boy navigating through a tough yet exciting journey to his destiny. I couldnt put this book down and finished it in a few days. Now, I'm just eagerly awaiting book 2's release. I love reading new/up and coming novelists as there are many great writers out there that are just waiting to be discovered by the mainstream. This feels like a book that may very well make it big.I'd like to take credit for discovering it before everyone else does! I recommend this book for all ages, especially young readers.
Journey to Forge Mountain was a great read for my sons (godsons). Thanks to this book, my boys are a little bit smarter. If I ever have a child, it shall be named "Steel" after my favorite character in the book. If I could give 5 and a half stars, I would!
I admit it, I'm a little biased. This is my debut novel. It was a labor of love and it will always occupy a special place for me. Thank you to everyone who gave this book a chance.
