A spunky new series for any girl who dreams of being a princess. The book even looks magical --- it's printed on purple pages!
Printed on PURPLE pages!
Isabel Dawson has two annoying big brothers, thinks purple is the best color in the whole world, and loves princess stories. When she reads about a princess on a royal quest, Isabel decides to go on a quest, too. She'll show her brothers that she's just as good as they are!
Isabel's quest is to win a prize --- she's just not sure what kind. It won't be easy, but this princess isn't giving up without a fight!
This book was about a girl who had brothers who had a lot of prizes. The girl had no prizes so she wanted to get one of her own. The girl entered some contests in school. I think this book was a great story. The girl might get a prize.
Princess-loving Isabel has never won anything; meanwhile, her two older brothers have a shelf loaded with trophies. So Isabel decides to go on a quest to win a prize herself, which proves to be more difficult than she realized. I'm not a big fan of the whole princess thing but in this chapter book, the trope is used as a symbol for perseverance. After all Isabel's hard work, the ending is highly satisfying. The sub-plot with her brother is also resolved in a heartwarming way.
This chapter book series contains companion books, each featuring a different child, issue, and color. Occasional black-and-white illustrations support the story. Many layout details add visual appeal to the book, especially for the young female target audience. There's a princess-related craft activity at the back of the book.
This was a great book for my little girl to read! It's about setting a goal and not giving up! As well as finding out what your good at and doing your best at it! We're looking forward to reading another book by Alyssa Crowne.
I like this book because she really wants to win a prize, and she tries really hard at the cupcake contest. She also tries at the 50 meter race. I learned that you should always try your hardest at things, even if you don't win.
The book I read is called Purple Princess wins the Prize by: Alyssa Crowne. The book ift fiction and it’s pretty clear my the cover. I think its Fairy tale or Realistic Fiction because it sounds real but kinda fantasy. I chose to read it because it is on my shelf from a long time and I never read and it's really short so i want to give it away but first i want to read and then give it away. The book is about a girl who really wants a trophy. The setting is at the girl’s house, school and in her yard. The main character is Isabel. Isabel’s challenge is to get a prize. Isabel gets more and more annoyed and finally happy. The girl wants to get a trophy because her brother and her enemy always brag about having a lot of trophies. She really wants a prize but can’t get one. It didn’t make me feel anything. The plot wasn’t exciting but was believable. The character were real. There were some funny parts but no scary parts. I didn’t think about anything. I learned never give up on anything. I liked when her brother gave her a trophy. I didn’t like the book because it was very boring. No because they would also find this book boring. The age is 6-8. 4/10
ilearned alotfrom PURPLE PRINCESS WINS A PRIZE. for example in the beginning ofte book when she knockeddown her brothers trophy, that was wrong. i think that she coouldhave handeled it a mature way. even though her brother stormed into her castle, she souldn't have chased him to the point when she knocks down her brothers trophy. she should also listen to her parents advice too. the only book i need to finish now is the one about the green princess. i love the book PURPLE PRINCESS WINS APRIZE. it teaches you all sorts of lessons.
Zoe is 7 and loves the Perfectly Princess books. I like them because they are age appropriate and are a nice length for her age and level. She reads them on her own. I would reccommend these to any girl who is a beginning chapter reading and likes pretending she is a princess (although the girls in the stories are not princesses).
Here's a story that will appeal to that competitive little girl who is dying to win a prize for something.
It's hard when you're the youngest, even harder when you're the youngest in a family of achievers. I like how Isabelle finds something that is truly hers (and understand her frustration when things don't turn out as planned).
I enjoyed this one. The main character was a little more likable than a couple of the others in the series. I also liked how her academics were ultimately rewards as they were so important to her.
My Daughter who is in Kindergarten and named Isabel loved this book. The message of the book that you don't always win even when you work hard for something is perfect. The book is written in a way that she was able to follow the story being read to her really well.
Poorly written kids book. I'm obviously not the intended audience, but please write something well enough so that parents stuck reading it will enjoy it just a little.

I say it was great because the main character, Crystal lived in a castle and won a prize for the best cupcakes at her school. I want to get the whole series and read all of the books.
