Royal Blood

by T.W.M. Ashford

Sigma is out for royal blood.

Operation Iron Nest was a catastrophe. Hundreds of marines died, the foundry was destroyed, the bug queen escaped as quickly as she was discovered. Command got its sample; Ginger lost an arm.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, they put her in charge of her own platoon.

The roaches have viciously counter-attacked settlements all across New Terra. But what begins as a tragic massacre may hold the secret to unlocking the queen’s stronghold. The UEC just has to embark on its most dangerous mission to date.

It’s time for Fireteam Sigma to infiltrate the queen’s nest and end the War for New Terra once and for all.

ROYAL BLOOD is the third and final book in the War for New Terra trilogy. If you enjoy tongue-in-cheek action, splashes of gore and skin-of-their-teeth escapes, you’ll love this blockbuster spin-off from the acclaimed Final Dawn series.

Back with Ginger, Duke and the Sigma team as they battle bugs with a pinch of snark and less gore than book two. I enjoyed the book, a quick read but not entirely sure on the ending - it felt like the Queen gave up rather easily but I suppose that is the alien mentality and then of course we have the evil, corporate scientist reveal at the end. I feel like the ending would've been stronger if Ginger or one of the team had discovered that reveal and be left in pieces trying to figure out how to deal with it. But perhaps that will be the opener to book 4!

Brilliant.

I've loved all three books of the War for New Terra series; of which Royal Blood is the third and final instalment in the series.

While we stay true to the theme of action and gore of the series we get to explore some other themes throughout Royal Blood.

Expect the same humour, high paced action, twists and joys of Ashford at his best.

Brilliant read. Really enjoyed it. 5*.

I thought the character focus was much better than the first one. Lots of bugs and gore as humans fight for survival.

A brilliant addition to the series, plenty of action and follows on well from previous instalments
A fab read

Not my favourite out of the three - I think I'd have liked to have seen more of the characters from the first book to hang around a bit longer... Still a good romp and super gory!

Fantastic series, with great characters and plenty of action! TWM Ashford is quickly becoming a must-read author for me. :-)
