This book could have used some more detail to help explain why the different listed strategies for dealing with anger are useful, but it was trying to stay upbeat and go with the tune of the famous song, so I understand its brief approach. I appreciated the variety of strategies that the book listed for dealing with anger and I enjoyed the book’s illustrations.

Kaiser, Cecily, and Cary Pillo. If You're Angry and You Know It! New York: Scholastic, 2005. Print.

This is a book about what to do if you’re angry. Its targeted at young children, the book is very repetitious and also includes rhymes to help young children progress through the story. It gives alternatives to fighting or lashing out if something makes you angry. The lessons are good for children and for the target audience, which is around 3-5. The illustrations include children of all races so no one person will feel left out.

This was an okay book, and as I was 'reading' it to my 2 year old granddaughter I caught myself 'singing' most of the book. It is word for word with exception of 'happy' with 'angry' with the song 'If you're happy and you know it' The good thing through the book is it helps teach what you need to do if you are angry, then at the end of the book tells you if you do all those things then you'll be happy for yourself and your friends.

I thought this book was so cute. Its to the tune of "If your happy and you know it", but of course its about being angry. The book gives several options for kids and what they can do when they get angry rather than doing something hurtful to someone else. Cute!

This is about a little boy who was angry and he showed it. He stomped his feet, bang a drum, walked away from his friends, took deep breaths, told a friend and that made him happy again.
