The Spirit Whisperer: Chronicles of a Medium

Rate this book
There’s a special language that transcends time and space—a language that’s not constrained by the limitations of just words—but one that consists of signs, symbols, energy, and thought. A language that can only be heard when one truly listens. It’s the language of The Spirit Whisperer .

In John Holland’s past books, he explained how he came to terms with, and learned to accept and embrace, his spiritual gifts as a psychic medium; and how "readers" could develop their own intuitive psychic abilities. In this book, John picks up the fascinating story of his personal journey of growth and development as one of the most respected practicing mediums today.

This work chronicles his career to date and includes some enlightening and heartfelt real-life case studies. He candidly discusses readings with clients, including those who’ve had their own After Death Communications (ADCs)—from the outrageous to the profound. John also explains the signs and symbols that our loved ones continually try to send us.

One of his most popular sayings is: "Those on the Other Side want to talk to you—as much as you want to talk to them!"

John divulges for the first time some of the extraordinary paranormal occurrences he’s witnessed throughout his career, and provides a rare glimpse behind the scenes of what it’s like to be a "Psychic Time Machine" for several television shows. He’ll also help parents who have a psychic child themselves.

The Spirit Whisperer is a book you’ll want to read over and over, as many of the stories will touch your heart as well as your soul!

This was very informative about his process. I think it's interesting we're one of the only societies that considers discussion of contact with the afterlife taboo, and John explains his concepts well.

An interesting read. I've never explored information about mediums or the psychic world before. This made me look at the world surrounding me a little differently. Holland addresses what happens to animals after death, too, which I think pet lovers might find intriguing.

John Holland takes us along in his journey about his life as a medium. I enjoyed reading about the time spent in Britain to learn more about and develop his mediumship abilities. I was in awe when I read about some of the very gifted mediums who had their unique way of delivering messages.

He also writes about the messages delivered to members of the audience and answers questions we may have - the book is very inspirational and enjoyable.

John takes you on a true spiritual journey. I love this book and his message. I read this book twice and each time I was engaged in the story/information and received beautiful messages (different ones). This is a must read if you are looking for a new spiritual journey.

He seems to me to be the most credible of the medium authors I've read.

I love John Holland! For being a medium, he has a very down to earth approach to explaining different experiences that occur in his work. Often when I listen to different spiritual teachers try to explain things, I tend to think they're from a different planet. John Holland definitely has a beautiful way of explaining the phenomenon of his medium-ship experiences and helps me feel better about this type of work. I love the fact that rather than having an attitude of " of course it's real you just have to believe" he encourages people to be skeptical of this type of work and wants people to be open to their own powerful spiritual experiences.
John has a very positive and enlightening point of view, bringing in lots of love to the world of the deceased as well as the living, and helping us remember that there is nothing to be afraid of. In this book 'Spirit Whisperer' John explains a little bit about his experience being trained as a medium, some of his personal experiences both teaching and with private readings he's had or given, and also has chapters dedicated to signs, reincarnation, animals, etc. I found most of this book covers John's personal experiences and what he has learned and gained from them. If you're into mediumship at all, John Holland is someone definitely worth looking into.
Another book I would recommend from John Holland, if your into spiritual/psychic phenomenon is Power of the soul where he explains several different alternative tools you can use to help you open up to greater spiritual understanding.

I love John Holland and had the pleasure of seeing him last year. He is able to touch so many people with his messages. I enjoyed this book but for me, there was not enough new information to warrent a higher rating.

In The Spirit Whisperer, John picks up where Born Knowing left off. John teaches us how to recognize the "signs and symbols" that our loved ones give us to tell us that there are still around.

He discusses readings with clients, Spiritualism and it's history. John also lets us look into his Past Life Regression session. There is a chapter of Psychic Kids and my favorite animal communication.

This is one of those books to keep on your nightstand and refer back to often. You will find something different every time.
