Thankfully, her new boss, Cal Danniger, certainly appreciates and respects her abilities. And she appreciates Cal...in every way possible. The Mavericks are Cal Danniger’s best friends, as well as his business partners. So when they ask him to watch over Lyssa by giving her a job in the San Francisco Bay Area, of course he agrees. After a passionate and unforgettable night in London that neither can resist, Cal vows never to let it happen again. But he can't stop thinking about her...or wanting her. The Maverick Billionaires series has been fun and interesting to read. But it took me a little bit to get into Unforgettable in Love. Cal drove me nuts. It took an “accident” to get him to open his eyes, accept the inevitable and the love that he felt in his heart for the Maverick’s little sister.
So, like I said Cal aggravated me. I felt that he only had one mantra … Lyssa is off-limits, the Mavericks will kill me, I’m her boss, the Mavericks will kill me. That was said so many times that I actually started skipping over that part because I knew what he was going to say. Then he started running away. Thank God Lyssa was a strong, determined, independent woman. She was the highlight and star of this whole story. I loved how she stood up for herself, went after what she wanted and made sure that nothing stood in her way – including her over-protective brothers.
If I didn’t read the prior books in this series, I would have been completely lost. I love getting caught up with people from prior stories but, I was a little confused at times as to who belonged to who and what they had to do with Cal. Gideon was a big part of this story but honestly felt that I would have had to gone back and re-read his story to understand everything.
I love that they gave Lyssa her story. She’s been a staple throughout this series. And Cal, in the end, was a truly unbelievable man. He really had to have good sneakers with all the running he did. I enjoyed the time that Cal and Lyssa spent together away from everyone. It was fun and enjoyable. But, when they were around family I really couldn’t handle Cal. But, the story was interesting and I adored the way they finally overcame all the obstacles and all the Mavericks had to eat crow. Each and every one of them deserved to be brought down a notch, to have their eyes opened that she wasn’t their little sister but a grown woman with a brilliant mind and more determination than any of them had. I also enjoyed the introduction of new characters. Maybe a spin off? The Harrington Billionaires?
This was a great story! I loved how Cal and Lyssa got together! I love that they had a bit of a past, but not a long and in depth one. I hated how Cal continued to run from his feelings, but then loved how he reacted to whole heartedly to the pregnancy! And didn't try to lay blame or anything at all! These brothers of hers sure needed their behinds kicked a bit for treating her like she wouldn't know what to do with her own life. Cal lost swoon points because of his constant running (in some pretty overly ridiculous ways!) but he totally pulled it out in the end. And Lyssa handled it all so well! Way beyond her years, that girl!
It’s always an exciting time with Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully release a new Maverick Billionaires book! I was SO excited for this book that I read it right away as soon as I got it.
Andre has a few popular series that I think she is most known for, but I do think that her work with Jennifer Skully in the Maverick Billionaires series is just as fun and charming. I love this world and the characters that live in it. Their writing is just so easy to read and follow, making it a quick read. I almost wished that I had savored it more.
But I loved the romance between Lyssa and Cal. It bloomed beautifully and realistically and I really liked their dynamics whenever they were together. I haven’t fallen for a hero like this in a long time, but Cal completely stole my heart. I just find him so endearing and charming. Andre and Skully did a great job of creating heroes that celebrate the idea of the “good guy”, which I really appreciate it.
Needless to say, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to any Contemporary Romance fan. The Maverick Billionaires are definitely not one to miss!
A nice easy, long read. You can’t help but wonder what will happen next with Lyssa and Cal, what they’ll do, and how they'll overcome the obstacles in their way. A nod to some old-fashioned values. A lovely read.
This is an OK romance, and a good addition to The Maverick Billionaires series. I had been waiting for Lyssa's story. The age difference between Lyssa and Cal bothered me, though. Because of that, it gets 3 stars from me.
Cal and Lyssa were both likable, but their age difference bothered me. I get that lots of people have successful May-December romances, but I prefer for romance couples to be closer to the same age. I have a difficult time believing they could have enough in common when there is such a large age difference.
Cal's fear that he would be like his father got a little old after a while. There was no reason for him to believe he would behave like his father did. He finally got past that, but not until he had hurt Lyssa several times.
I got really angry at Lyssa's brother and the other Mavericks, when they acted like she wasn't capable of making her own relationship decisions. It was like they all refused to believe she was a grown woman, and could take care of herself. They deservedly got in trouble for their behavior, though.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I have loved this series! When I first started reading this book, Lyssa and Cal were not two people I would see falling in love, until I started reading. Lyssa was the youngest sister of the Maverick’s and they took their job of protecting their young sister very seriously. Because of that they urged Cal to hire their accountant sister to work for him so she would move to San Francisco from Chicago. The Maverick’s were sure she would be safe with Cal since they were best friends with him and he was 20 years older than her. Lyssa was such a smart, caring and mature woman. I don’t think she would have ever been happy with a younger man as she was too mature. The part I hated was that Carl’s father had disappointed him when he was younger which affected his relationships. I loved Cal and thought he was a great person, but he did upset me when he and Lyssa ever got close he would run away. Then something happens that upsets the whole family. I loved the story and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
What a fantastic book, I couldn’t stop reading. I love this series and will be re reading them all. I actually didn’t expect to cry and I love when I’m this emotional in a book. It’s so hot once Cal finally kisses Lyssa and their chemistry is off the charts. She’s off limits to him, he’s her boss plus she’s the young sister of the Mavericks. There’s a twenty year difference between them and he really tried to resist her. I felt so heartbroken for them, will he keep messing up? Why won’t he talk about his past? Will her brothers accept the thought of her with Cal? I went through so many emotions. Thankfully they get do get a very happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
It just never fails….if am reading a BellaAndre and Jennifer Skully, I know I am going to laugh,I’m going to swoon and there may be tears. The Maverick series is one my favorites and I have loved each book as I read them. So now this is my favorite Maverick story, and will be until the next one…even if it is a spin off! Cal was an honorary Maverick and Lyssa was the sister of the Mavericks. Cal is in his 40’s and Lyssa was 25, an accountant who works for a Veterans foundation that Cal heads up. There is attraction, there is lust, and there is the notion that Cal can never have Lyssa because she is the LITTLE SISTER. This was a fun story of big bad alphas having to learn some hard lessons when it comes to family, but as always, so well written and so much fun to read.
Unforgettable In Love by Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully is the newest Maverick Billionaire to find love. I loved it! The troupe here is older man and best-friend’s little sister AND secret baby. I love all The Mavericks stories. Cal and Lyssa have an uphill battle just because Cal is so much older and Lyssa’s brothers and parents even at times haven’t truly allowed her to grow up and recognize that she truly capable of deciding what is best for her. Cal. I love the depth of characters, how alpa all the men are, and especially how much love they truly have for their women and sister(Lyssa). The between-the-sheets action is quite steamy and hot. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. *****
I thought this book was absolutely wonderful. I fell head over heels for Cal and Lyssa. The chemistry between this couple was easy to feel and I loved the sparks they generated. There was a very appealing blend of tropes in play here and I felt that made for a multi-dimensional story that was engaging and entertaining. This romance is smartly constructed and skillfully written. It delivers mega feels, lots of swoon, and gives your heart a nice little workout in the process. This is my elective, forthright review.
Unforgettable In Love was the seventh book in the Maverick Billionaire’s by the authors Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully. Although enjoyable, the series does not have to be read in order.
I’ve taken a hiatus from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I enjoyed both Lyssa and Cal as well as the storyline. However, I wanted more from Cal as well as more depth in the overall story. Otherwise, it was entertaining and enjoyable.
Good addition to the series! I enjoyed this a lot, it has tropes that I usually don’t love- but in this book it worked very well. Both mains are likeable and have great chemistry. Great buildup and integration of the other characters!
Unforgettable In Love Maverick Billionaires book 7 Bella Andre & Jennifer Skully ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oohhh this story has all the feels, from fun, flirty, oh so sexy, sweet, and funny to downright “I’m gonna throw something “& genuine tears, like ugly crying. This would be my favourite Maverick so far!
Lyssa Spencer has always been the little sister, the one all of her brothers fired on and protected with their lives, but sweet little Lyssa is fully grown now, she’s smart and sassy a woman in her own right. She’s a talented accountant, and is now spearheading the Lean on Us Foundation with family friend Cal. She’s had a crush on her brothers friend, Cal Danniger for a while and now working in close confines, (starting with a trip to London on his private jet) has sparks flying. So much so their first appointment even sees it! Knowing it must be kept above board and professional Lyssa can’t help the giddiness and butterflies when Cal takes her to celebrate, sending professional out the window.
Cal has always known Lyssa, he’s been around the Spencer house filled with Maverick men everywhere, she’s 20years younger then him, he also knows she is off limits. When her brother, Daniel asks Cal to take her on as accountant to the foundation, he does so, but with the knowledge of how she stirs his body… The chemistry may seem one sided but it certainly is not and one night in London changes everything. The flight home is another all together. Cal has come from a family when us parents split after his father cheated, then when he walked out it left a very angry boy behind, and many years later those feeling are still front and centre, so when he and Lyssa share an amazing and soooo hot tryst in the way back to the US, he runs and hides… this seriously becomes a thing and I wanted to each inside my book and smack him around the head!
Lyssa sees the good in everyone and despite Cal going off the rails and avoiding her like the plague she still wants him, and when they all travel for thanksgiving she intends to confront him. Her nice thoughts are quickly railroaded by their scorching chemistry again leaving a sad Lyssa all over again. Until she discovers their coupling has bought other issues to the table.
Coming clean to her brothers is scary and the fallout is gut wrenching, her happiness is one thing tearing her family apart is sobering no one wants to see. Thankfully the sounded and partners of the Maverick billionaires are no wallflowers, pulling their bad behaved men in line, leaving them red faced. Lyssa may be the reason for the fight but the women are the ones really in charge. Ending on an emotional high, it’s safe to say this story has a perfect ending, although I’d love to see a story for Dane, he’s quite the character ❤️
Unforgettable in Love by Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully is book number 7 in the Maverick Billionaires series and features two old standbys from previous books: Cal Danniger and Lyssa Spencer. They have both accepted positions with Gideon's new charity: Lean on Us. Lyssa as the accountant and Cal as the Director, although they both do a bit of everything. Today they are on their way to London in Cal's private jet to pitch Dane Harrington for a huge donation. Cal is a very rich businessman who is acting as director of the foundation for no recompense, and they are using his jet because he likes to be comfortable. They worked through the night to be prepared and arrive at a luxurious hotel, once again, on Cal, in time for dinner and an early night so they are ready to go in the morning. Cal is out early on his own business and ordered breakfast to be delivered to the suite so that Lyssa would be ready to go when her arrives back to pick her up for their appointment. The meeting with Dane is a huge success. He donates a pile of money and offers his contacts to the pair so they can raise even more. To celebrate, Cal orchestrates a very special evening and they spend the next day exploring London together before they fly back to San Francisco. On the return flight they give in to their raging emotions and hormones and spend several perfect hours in bed.
Call is 46 years old and carries plenty of baggage, while Lyssa is twenty years younger and comes from a background of love and over protective brothers. Both know this situation is far from ideal. Cal is her boss. He's worried about the age difference. She is not. She is worried about her brothers. But, he breaks her heart. The authors don't rely on false scenarios like being chased by the mob or kidnapped by a jealous ex. This is all about emotions and families. But first, Cal had to be convinced that they could be together. All he can feel early on is abject fear. Can he overcome his trepidations and love her or are they doomed? Lots of twists and turns on the road to love. Another hit in this fabulous series. I recommend it.
Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully gave readers the book we have all been waiting for with Unforgettable in Love. Finally, Lyssa Spencer not only gets her story, but readers have another sexy billionaire to fall madly in love with as well.
Lyssa Spencer is the little sister to all the Mavericks, so she is basically off limits to any man they are friends with, and Cal Danniger is no exception when it comes to the Mavericks. However, Lyssa and Cal have the most incredible chemistry and they so get one another. I loved that Cal saw Lyssa as a strong and capable woman in a way no one in her family have even acted like they saw. I loved Cal and Lyssa as a couple so much from page one. I didn't love Cal was so distant with Lyssa at times even because he felt guilty about what each of the Mavericks would say. I could feel how much they wanted to be with one another and it almost broke my heart when Cal was trying to be so brave and stay away.
Lyssa has been one of my favorite characters in the series, and I knew she would have to have a really strong hero to take be able to stand up to all her brothers and not take any of their crap. While Cal freaked out longer than I expected, I still love him as a hero. He had some baggage from his past, so I gave him a pass on some of his behavior. I could feel how much he loved Lyssa, and I knew he was only trying to make everyone happy. Part of what I loved about Lyssa and Cal's relationship was their age difference. He is 20 years older than Lyssa, and yet they were absolutely perfect for each other. I seriously had all the happy feels for them, and loved their emotional story.
Unforgettable in Love was such an amazing addition to the Maverick Billionaires series of books, and I have high hopes with some of the new characters we met in this story, that we will get more stories in the future. Ms. Andre and Ms. Skully once again gave their readers a sexy and emotional story that will pull readers in from the very first page.
Rating: 5 Stars (A) Review copy provided by publisher
Cal and Lyssa's love story is completely unforgettable. The age difference of almost 20 years really added to the story. I will admit I could also relate to the idea. Unforgettable in Love jogged my memory to some of the negative attitudes. Love does not distinguish between ages.
Of course the age difference wasn't the only issue. Lyssa is the baby sister now all grown up. Of course, the Mavericks don't see that way. To them, she will always need protecting. She will always be a little girl that they were told to protect.
Unforgettable in Love was a wonderful, emotional read. Cal wanted Lyssa. Lyssa wanted Cal. Resistance would be futile. Cal didn't think he was good enough. Cal didn't want to break the bro code, even though he didn't consider himself a Maverick. After all; he was ten years older than them and didn't grow up with them. Luckily for the reader Lyssa is a strong woman that knows who she wants and she wants Cal. I don't blame her.
Unforgettable in Love is packed full of romance goodies. Get ready to explore London and for a super romantic Cal that needs to stop chickening out. Sail into Catalina Island to admire Lyssa's strenghts, a steamy hot night, and Cal playing chicken yet again.
I had to wonder if Cal would ever get it together. I had to wonder if they got together, would the stay together? How would her family and the Mavericks handle it. Family drama always makes for a great read. Unforgettable in Love is packed full of drama. Such amazing drama.
Grab Unforgettable in Love and fall in love with Cal and Lyssa. Grab Unforgettable in Love and rekindle the happiness created from the other Maverick books.
*** I received an advanced copy and chose to review it *** ** 100% spoiler-free review ** * 5 stars *
Unforgettable In Love is yet another amazing story in The Maverick Billionaires series. Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully wrote the perfect age gap/office romance/brother's best friend romance. Cal and Lyssa were such a fun couple and I loved their journey to find love. It's a little bit bumpy, a little bit emotional, and a whole lot of swoon. The settings, the characters....everything is exactly what you'd expect from these fabulous authors.
Cal and Lyssa have sparks from the start but neither will act on it. Cal is Lyssa's boss and her brothers' best friend. He's handsome, successful, and wealthy but there is a twenty year age difference between the two which weighs heavily on Cal's mind. But Lyssa was hard to resist. She's intelligent and strong, beautiful and successful. Together, these two are unstoppable. But there are a lot of ups and downs and secrets that these two must face in order to find their happily ever after.
Andre and Skully bring back all of our favorite Maverick characters who play a central role in this story as the ever protective big brothers. We also get to meet new characters who make a huge impact as well and I hope they spin-off into another series because I'd love to know more about Dane and his family! 5 stars
The Mavericks series from Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully tells the stories of men who rose above difficult childhoods to become successful billionaires. Five of them are tied together by the foster home in which they were raised. (The sixth is connected through one of the wives.)
UNFORGETTABLE IN LOVE is a twist — it tells the story of Lyssa Spencer, the Mavericks’ little sister. Anyone who has ever had an overbearing older sibling will identify with Lyssa. She refuses to take advantage of the perks her brothers could give her, yet chafes at the control they try to exert in her life because they love her so much and have always protected her.
It’s just like Lyssa to fall in love with a man just like her brothers — Cal Danniger, an unofficial Maverick who understands the “bro code” (times 5 in this case) that means he cannot get involved with Lyssa. It doesn’t help that Cal has his own skeletons that affect his view of permanent relationships.
Like all good romances, we know Lyssa and Cal will find their HEA. Luckily the journey along the way is beautiful to watch. UNFORGETTABLE IN LOVE is my favorite of the Mavericks series. It can be read as a standalone. Be warned: once you finish, you’ll run back to grab the earlier books to learn more about these brothers and their wives.
I really liked this book. I'm not a huge fan of the sibling's best friend trope because a lot of times the sibling is very nosy and overbearing and never gets called on out on their actions. This book went out of its way to demonstrate that there's a huge difference between looking out for a family member and sticking your nose into their relationships. I was very impressed at how in depth they went with it. Part of it did require a sudden point of view shift (the majority of the story is told from Cal and Lyssa's perspective, but small parts of it shift to her brother), which would normally bother me, but it was necessary to get the point across.
You don't necessarily need to read the other books to fully understand this one, however, there are a few big family scenes where other characters appear. Because it had been a long time since I'd read the previous books, I couldn't remember everybody right away, but a few brief descriptions helped jog my memory.
I also love that while family is part of the story, they don't overpower it. A good bulk of the story is Cal and Lyssa getting to know each other and having their romance develop, which made it easier to want them together.
There's also a setup for the next book in the series, which I also appreciate. I look forward to reading it.
I love this series and loved this book. If you've read the previous books in this series, you will already know Lyssa and Cal. Lyssa is the younger sister of the Mavericks (who are incredibly overprotective of her) and Cal is their best friend and business partner. When Lyssa moves to San Francisco to take a role in Gideon's new charity, Cal, who also works for the charity, becomes her boss and they begin spending a lot of time together - and the sparks start to fly! Lyssa had already admitted to being interested in Cal earlier but her brother shut that down. Cal has also been avoiding his growing feelings for her as well. They have many, many obstacles against them: for example - boss/employee relationship, their age difference and especially her brothers. During a trip to London to speak with a potential donor, the sparks continue to fly and their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS. They finally give in to their attraction and spend a wonderfully hot night together. And then the drama truly begins.... No Spoilers - but you will be drawn into their story and as it goes through its ups and downs, laughter and tears, you can't help but wonder if the two of them (as well as the brothers) will get out of their own way and let love shine. An "Unforgettable" story that is not to be missed and now I can't wait for the next stop in the wonderful Maverick series.
This was a nice addition to the series, but it wasn't my favorite. It can be read as a standalone. The previous Maverick is are included, and there is just enough information supplied for a reader to understand how they fit into the equation.
The beginning of Cal and Lyssa's relationship was good. I liked both of the characters. The start of the relationship was enticing. It drew me into the story. The London experience was awesome. It had that Andre/Sully feel to it. Then it somehow felt off to my. I was struggling to get through the book. I couldn't feel and real chemistry between Cal and Lyssa. The words were there, but the connection was gone. It just fell flat. I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. I'm still not sure.
It only started to feel right again when the book had Cal and Lyssa showing up at the housewarming. From that point to the last page, the book flowed with that same Andre/Sully magic. The sense of family, the love, the connections, all felt very strong.
I can even see future books for Dane Harrington and his siblings. Let's not forget to mention Tony and Kelsey, even if they only made a brief appearance in this book. I wonder if they will get their own stories.
I would give this entry into the Maverick series 3.5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
3.5 stars This is a solid, entertaining read in the Maverick Billionaire world. Lyssa is the younger sister/foster sister/sister-in-law of the 6 men who have anchored the series so far. In this book we see her come into her own both personally and professionally as she is paired with Cal.
I enjoyed Lyssa and Cal. They had an excellent working relationship that flowed naturally into more. I appreciated the weight that they both gave their differences and the work put in to move past them. The focus on family and maintaining relationships with the larger secondary cast also spoke well of both characters.
The thing that kept this from being a full 4 star read for me - that large secondary cast. This is book 7 in a series and all 6 of the previous main couples make appearances here. At times that can be a bit distracting and keeping track of who belongs to who and what the back story is made it harder to focus on the action related to this book.
If you have followed the series to date, I think you will enjoy seeing Lyssa and getting updates on her brothers. There are also hints in the epilogue that we may not be done with the Mavericks just yet. I am curious to see if the series will continue or if certain secondary characters might launch something new.
Lyssa Spencer has been protected and shelter all her life from her brothers and her parents. Although they mean well it frustrates Lyssa because she doesn’t feel they think she is capable. She decides to move to San Fran after taking a job at the Lean on Me foundation. She figured Cal originally hired her as a flavor to her brothers but she wants to prove to Cal she is more than qualified. Cal grew up an only child and his family was shattered when his father left them for his much younger secretary. The secretary was only having a fling and left Cals dad who ended up silting a broken hearted man as both his family and his girlfriend turned their backs on him. Cal does nothing but work as he doesn’t feel he is able to commit. Lyssa is 20 years his jr and the sparks start to fly while they work together. Each time they are together Cal runs away after until something happens that makes him want to stay. Now they have to face Cals demons plus her family to fight to be able to stay together. Last book in the maverick series but looks like it will crest a spin off with the Harringtons. You don’t have to read in order but I always like to as you get to know the characters.
I love all the Mavericks... In this book will follow Lyssa Spencer the little sister of all five Mavericks, they protect her, they take care of her, but now, she wants to no one taking care of her, she wants to prove her competence and ability to be a strong woman.
Lyssa is working with Cal Daninger at the 'Lean on us' foundation he's a good, powerful, handsome and all good man, just like her brothers, but her brother says that Cal isn't the perfect man for her... he's 20 years older than her, he's friends with her brothers, he's her boss, but how can she live without admiring and wanting to be with Cal?
After a work flight to London where they get to know each other a little more and mutual admiration only grows, they give themselves to each other, but Cal feels guilty for wanting, for loving the only woman who he couldn't have, and runs away... But those days were so intense that it's impossible to forget (unforgettable). Will the age difference, will the overprotectiveness of the Mavericks leave Cal and Lyssa be happy?
Cal and Lyssa. Cal, almost 2 decades older than Lyssa, has been hiding his feelings for her for a long time. Lyssa appreciates, and also has feelings for the older man. When the opportunity to relocate to the SF Bay Area to work for him presents itself, she is thrilled by the prospect. Months go by before Lyssa is tasked with traveling to London with Cal. They have fun. They can admit they have feelings for each other. They don't want her brothers to find out.
Trying to keep their 'one and done' time together from Lyssa's brothers is difficult. The brothers 'trust' Cal with their sister because he's so much older. Oops!! A time of reckoning is just around the corner...
Set in the SF Bay area this series is just so much fun. Jetting off in their private planes, having fabulous dinners, buying a home for their parents, the stories just fall together so well. Love and family tie this series together. I hope Ms. Andre and Ms. Skully continue to write together and find more people in this circle to write about.
It was fun to see Cal and Lyssa on their own when they were working for the foundation. Away from everyone they could let their feelings evolve and happen and enjoy spending time with each other. It did suck when Cal let what the others would think of things cause him to pull away and do so in a way that Lyssa realized what was going on.
I wasn't surprised at what brought Lyssa and Cal back together, but I was glad that Lyssa laid out what she wanted from Cal, so that he knew where, if any place their relationship would go. Their trip away was just what they needed, time together. It seemed almost magical for them. It's just too bad that the magic had to stop at Lyssa's parents house where the brothers got out of control! What Daniel did was so over the top, that he deserved the cold shoulder he got and the talking to from everyone.
I was glad with how this one ended, glad that Cal and Daniel made up, that Daniel apologized to Lyssa and that the family has so many things to look forward to.
There was way too much internal dialogue in this book, and so much of it was repetitious. How many times did we have to read about Cal's misgivings concerning his desire for Lyssa because a) she was his friends' little sister, b) she was his employee, and c) she was too young? Not only did the authors write too much internal dialogue, but then they explained why the characters felt the way they did. Couldn't they let the readers figure some things out for themselves? This could have been done through hints in dialogue among the characters, but that was mostly bland.
The other thing that bugged me was Cal's sudden turn-around when Lyssa gave him her big news. What? All of a sudden he's not worried about what her brothers will think? His sudden change of mind didn't seem believable. He did have misgivings again later, which made his reaction a little more realistic.
I probably would have enjoyed this book more if I'd read the previous ones in the series. I would have had more of a connection with Lyssa's brothers and their women. But if all the books have so much internal dialogue instead of witty, engaging dialogue with other characters, I'm better off not reading any more of them.
Lyssa Spencer is the younger sister to the Maverick Billionaires. They vowed to always protect her no matter what it demanded of them. The one thing they have forgotten is that Lyssa is now a grown adult and a woman with aspirations and goals of her own. She disliked her old job so much that her hovering brothers got her a new job with their friend, Cal Danninger. He gives Lyssa the respect she has earned and deserves plus encouraging her successes. Cal has had a deep, passionate feelings for Lyssa and he has a constant battle not to cross the line between boss and employee. All it takes is one night in London to break all the rules and barriers.
This is a beautifully written story about a loving family, their interactions with each other, both good and bad, plus, both Cal and Lyssa accepting their past to find the future they have dreamed of. This book is part of the Maverick Billionaires Series but could be read as a stand-alone.
Unforgettable in love is a beautiful read, a book I just couldn’t put down because I was liking it so much. Cal has been attracted towards Lyssa since they met, however thoughts of the age gap, best friends sister, employee don’t let me act on it. Till one day the connection become too hard to ignore. Lyssa is the younger sister of the Mavericks and they have always been over protective about her, to the extent that they don’t realize she is now an adult. She has found Cal attractive since they met, but working together she sees him in a different light and the fact that he treats her like an equal is just what makes the attraction more intense. This is a heartwarming and intense read. It take us on a rollercoaster ride of multitude emotions. There are some demons that Cal needs to fight and Lyssa’s support and understanding showed how perfect she is for him. The ending was beautiful even though it left me teary eyed.
