This review is for Vi Summer’s Our Final Takedown. When you make a choice for someone without letting them decide for themselves can you live with the consequences? Cameron made a life changing decision when she walked away from Raidan years ago. She didn’t want to hold him back from his promising future. Now she finds herself face to face with the man she’s always loved. Raidan is shocked to see Cameron, but also happy and mad at the same time for what she did to them. Can these two figure everything out to get their second chance at happiness? I guess you’ll have to read it to find out.
Lost in a Loosie by JA Lafrance ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This had so much potential! I haven't come across many sports romances featuring lacrosse, I was excited, sadly it glossed over the sports element, hopefully because it's a short *fingers crossed* Characters are easily likeable. The story is fluffy, and sweet. I'll think I'll definitely read the full story once it's released, I think it'd make a nice palette cleanser.
Gaming It by Marie Ahls ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Zero sports romance. The main character is an actor. I feel like this character Kendric has a story, no doubt. He's been through some things. Gaming It takes us on a date with a "professional dater" but it's not awkward. Like a glimpse into the dating life of a celebrity. Again, I think a story I would read just as long as it's not marketed as a sports romance.
The Ribe by Danielle Sibarium ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best friends brother, country boy, city mouse, and he's a bull rider! Betrayal, drama, sweet, with a slight amount of steam. Pure country goodness! I need this full length novel, like yesterday!
Shooting his Shoot by E.S. McMillan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shooting his Shoot is super quick. Professional basketball player and lawyer, instant attention. For such a short read E.S. McMillan brings the romantic feels. I absolutely loved this story.
Strike a Chord by Naomi Springthorp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A musician and a baseball player...... SAME GUY! Need I say more?! Steamy and funny. Throughly enjoyed this one, and am craving more.
Bump and Run by Tiffany Carby ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A tie in with Gamimg It by Marie Ahls! Kennedi and Kendrics meet cute, which I purposely left out of my other review. Short, full of attraction and chemistry.
Builder of my Soul by S.L. Davis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THIS! BRILLIANT! I absolutely loved this story. A quick look into loss, strength, growth and healing. With spice! I love even more that the sport that's in this story is physical fitness/rehabilitation.
Off Court by S.C P Principale ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WOW! I was completely surprised with Off Court, basketball romances usually fall short with me, but this one hit the mark. It had steam, flirty moments, and self discovery. Absolutely loved this one.
Game Plan by Tonya Clark ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOVED THIS ONE! A super steamy one night stand, that you just know it's gonna turn into more. Adored the cat and mouse vibe you got from this, I'll definitely be checking out this author.
Just One Win by L.C. Taylor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'm a huge sucker for stories where they have to physical therapy. Just One Win brings all the goodness! The chemistry is amazing! Some moments in this novella will have you all up in your feels. Couldn't have loved this book more!
Our Final Takedown by Vi Summers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ OMG! OMG! OMG! My absolute favorite of this anthology!! MMA, second chance romance, the steam *chefs kiss * I love Cameron, in the past she sacrificed the one she loved so he could achieve his dreams, Raidan let her walk away in the past, but will he again? Absolutely brilliant! The chemistry between these two is absolute fire. I couldn't get enough, I'm in desperate need of more!
On Target by Lily Ryan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Darts, not really my thing, but I'm so glad I continued with this one! Sexual tension, and chemistry through the roof, and REVERSE HAREM need I say more?! These characters have a story to tell, and according to the authors note at the end, there's more to come, and I cannot wait.
I love reading new authors and this book was filled with good new to me authors. I was especially excited for Vi Summers story. The story was a steamy second chance I was hooked on this short story. Great job!
