Second Chance Daddy

Rate this book
My ex returns the same way he left: like a ghost.
I hate him for breaking my heart, but I'm still aching to be in his bed.

It’s been 10 years since he disappeared.
My brother convinces him to come back for a visit.
At supper, our eyes meet, and the world stops just for a second.

So much has changed.
He’s rich, divorced, and a single daddy.

My brother says to take it slow, but he’s irresistible.
Long glances turn into electric touches, and it’s not long before I give in to everything I thought I lost.
If I can get him to stay, I’ll have the family I’ve always wanted.

Of course, nothing goes to plan.
He wants to revitalize the town in his pushy, billionaire ways.
As a lawyer, I’m going to fight him.

The only problem: if I win my case, I’ll lose my forever.

Aimee Bronson has written a -star book. This is the story of Kayla and Andrew. Kayla and Andrew had been a couple back in high school until he and his family left town. He didn't let her know they were leaving and he didn't even keep in touch with her. Now years later, he comes back to town with his daughter Ellie for the summer. Kayla doesn't know that he is back in town. She goes to her father's house for a cookout and sees him there. All the hurt from his leaving comes back and she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. All she wants is to know why he left and treated her like she was someone he didn't want to know. Andrew wants to talk to her and she agrees to have dinner with him. The dinner doesn't go the way that Andrew wanted. They talk about what they have been up to but nothing else. Things happen and they end up sleeping together but after, Kayla avoids him all she can. It is a little hard since he rented the house next to her. She still has feelings for him but she knows that he is leaving again to go back to New York. Things happen and they start seeing each other. He starts to think that he may want to stay in town and comes up with a plan to move his business there. Things turn bad when Kayla finds out what he is planning to do. She is a lawyer and she is now going to try and stop him from doing what he wants to do. It takes Andrew a little while to understand why Kayla tried to stop him and he changed his plans a little.
Will Kayla and Andrew get back together after he tells her of his new plans?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I received a free ARC copy. The review is my honest opinion. *Spoiler of a plot point....stop here if you don't want anything to spoil your read*

I gave up at the beginning of chaper 13 (I think). Just at the point where everything was about to hit the fan. Until then it was pleasant enough, although I can't say I really believed in the characters or their motivations overly. And the billionaire trope just isn't for me, although that is purely a personal thing. What made me give up was that everything was just too signposted for me - they've finally worked out their issues so it's going well, when BAM! Everything's going to hit the fan. I know that this whole overcoming the problem and getting back together stronger than ever in time for the HEA is expected at around this point in the story, but it felt too theatrical, too signposted, just basically too instant and too huge to keep my interest. I understand it's a romance, by definition unreal, so I guess it could just be me being picky, but for goodness sake, these are two adults. Why can't they just talk to each other?! But of course this is all totally subjective, so feel free to ignore this review and go with a more positive one whan deciding whether it's the book for you.

This down home feel good will take you back in time but also keep you grounded in today. Andrew and Kayla were sweethearts from way back but when Andrew disappears life chances as Kayla picks up the pieces of her shattered heart. Fast forward to now when they meet again. Andrew still has feelings but he know he messed up. Kayla is trying to get by unwilling to let Andrew in. But the heart knows what it wants, now comes the battle. It's a small town where everyone know everyone and everything that happens. When Andrew kisses Kayla on the sidewalk in downtown rumors start to flow. But these rumors are known facts because Andrew and Kayla are already falling back into their old ways. Late night get hook ups, dinners, and spending time with Ellie who is the most delightful child you will encounter. When Andrew decides to move his company to the small town, Kayla isn't willing to give up the community center where Andrew plans on putting his business. To say a riff just open up, naw we gonna called this an ocean, with more waves and two pigheaded people who can't see that they make each other great.

Andrew decides to take a vacation from the rat race of New York and the demands of being the CEO of his own company. He knows that he is missing out on his little girl's life and needs to change his priorities. Besides, he can always work remotely if necessary.
Kayla and Andrew were high school sweethearts until the day Andrew moved to New York with his parents. The problem...he didn't even tell Kayla he was leaving. She was devastated. Imagine her surprise when after ten years, she sees Andrew in Redenville with a little girl. What is he doing there?
Andrew rents a house for the summer. Guess who lives next door? Kayla, of course. Andrew realizes he has residual feelings for Kayla but it will take a lot to overcome her hurt from the past. Will Kayla forgive him and give him a second chance? And can Andrew live in a small town after experiencing the Big Apple? What about his business? Is this a second chance for Andrew and Kayla? Can they overcome their differences?
The book is well written and captured my attention from the start. I really enjoyed it. There is an HEA.
I received an advanced copy for my honest opinion.

This is the second book in this series and it is just as good as the first one. Told in first person POV by the main male and female characters, you really feel like you are there with them as they take their journey of second chances, mending broken hearts, standing up for what they believe in, and building a family together.

I love that Andrew was a single father who loved and cherished his daughter, but never forgot about Kayla. I was hooked with this book from the time Kayla described herself with her nose pushed up against the window of her car trying to figure out if the hunk of a man walking with the beautiful little girl was the man who stole her heart and broke it all those years ago. I love that Kayla was sneaky about getting Andrew to see her point when it came to their conflict. I love the last straw it took to pull her from fighting her feelings for Andrew and give them a chance.

This is the second book I’ve read from Amiee and I must say, it usually takes more than two books for me to really be hooked on an author, but Amiee is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Andrew and Kayla were teenage sweethearts, until Andrew's family moved away. Andrew never explained why to Kayla and didn't stay in touch. She was devastated and heartbroken. Then 10 years later, there he is in the middle of town with a little girl. Kayla doesn't know what to think or how to control her heart from racing ahead of itself. The next thing she knows, Andrew is her next door neighbor and and slowly worming his way into her life and family again.

Then one day she realizes that she is in love with Andrew, but then he comes up with a plan to take over the simple, quiet town that she has always known and begin to turn it into something new and different. She plans to fight him with everything she can, but will it really work?

Is Andrew really going to throw away his second chance at love with Kayla? There has to be a way he can still help the small town he loves and still get the girl as well.

I got this book as an ARC, and whole-heartedly recommend it for reading if you love second chance romances with a give and take of both main characters to get the HEA.

UBrother's Best Friend
Second Chance
Single Dad Romance
This story us tild in Dual POV...Kayla is now an attorney and has been ghosted by Andrew for 10 years. Andrew is a single dad, owns a very successful tech company, and very wealthy. The attraction is still very real between them, but Kayla has been deeply hurt by Andrew and doesn't want anything to do with him. The emotional pull and attractions continue to pull them back together and they end up back in bed. It seems like things will works out this time for the couple, then a proposal comes up that tears them apart. Feelings are hurts and doesn't look as if they can work this out.
This intriguing, well written book has wonderful characters who are very well crafted with good histories and unique personalities. My favourite parts was how strong the female character Kayla was portrayed in this book. Another great book by Aimee!! Don't miss out on this one, I promise it's one you will truly enjoy from start to finish!!

Kayla and Andrew were a couple when she was finishing high school. His father moved his company to New York and Andrew went with him, without telling Kayla he was leaving or even saying goodbye. Her heart was broken, and she's sworn to never forgive him. Several years have passed and Andrew is spending the summer in town, working remotely and visiting with friends and working remotely. Andrew is invited to a barbecue at his old friend James' house. James just happens to be Kayla's brother as well and neither was aware the other would be there. Kayla still refuses to talk to Andrew, but then she discovers that the house he rented is right next door to her. Soon she decides to be an adult and they discuss the past. Once they are dating (and more), Andrew sees how he can update the town and make things better for the townspeople. But Kayla sees things much differently and it breaks them apart. Can they see their way to getting back together or are they both too stubborn to try and find middle ground?

This contemporary romance is page-turning with realistic characters and world-building that are exceptional. Kayla and Andrew's journey is enthralling with a high school sweetheart romance, Andrew being her brother's best friend, Andrew gets a second chance after leaving the big city because his father moved his billion-dollar company to New York and he works for him, despite Kayla being sharky to Andrew he loved her unconditionally-she eventually gave him a second chance after breaking her heart into a million pieces and she still wants to be in his bed despite the drama that she has had to endure, a happily ever after, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her reader's attention and hearts with a second chance daddy and a brother's best friend billionaire romance.

Kayla, 28, is a lawyer whose former boyfriend and brother’s best friend, Andrew, left suddenly with no explanation 10 years ago. He is now a tech billionaire who returns to his Ohio hometown for the summer with his 5 year old daughter. He moves in next door to Kayla and she is attracted to Andrew and grows closer to his daughter but she never had answers as to why he left. They begin a secret relationship even though he only plans to be there for the summer before he returns to New York. Can they resolve their differences for the future of their town and find happiness together?

I enjoyed this story and give it 4.5 stars. I never thought that Kayla got answers as to the reason why Andrew had left suddenly and broke her heart but they couldn’t resist their attraction. The drama with the future plans for their hometown added complications to their relationship

What I liked:
1. Kayla’s relationship with her girlfriends Stephanie and Alex. They are the kind of women that everyone wants as a friend.
2. Kayla’s welcoming, supportive family, especially Nana!
3. Kayla’s protectiveness of her friends, family and town and her ability (once she has settled down her emotions) to listen rationally to explanations given.
4. Andrew’s love of his daughter.
What I disliked:
1. Kayla falling into bed with Andrew without getting an apology about past hurts.. he totally needed to do some serious grovelling.
This was a quick , low angst read with a few interesting twists before reaching the promised HEA.

A great second chance and brothers best friend romance. Kayla and Andrew dated for a while in high school. Andrew returns 10 years later a millionaire now with a cute little girl. Kayla is a lawyer. Kayla is really hesitant to allow him back into her life. Their connection is too strong though and once again they start dating. There is lots of old hurts they have to work through. There is lots of laughs, angst and spicy times. Very realistic and loveable group of characters. Kept me flipping the pages to see what would happen next. Love their HEA.

I absolutely ravished this book in one setting.
It was everything a Romance book needs.
The angst, the emotions, the heat and of course the conflict and hurt.
Andrew broke Kaylas heart and left her 10 yrs ago. He was now back with his beautiful little daughter.
Once they meet again, all their feelings come back hitting them like a truck.
Andrew is determined to win her back.
Eventually they find themselves and get together. But he hurt her once, can Kayla really trust him again?
Find out if they do manage to get that HEA they both deserve.

I loved all the secondary characters and the whole family feeling.
Great easy read and the series is continuing to be fab.

Good, well written story. I loved the family/extended family. Ellie was adorable. Kayla was the stereotypical old maid. Staid, opinionated, unwilling to bend, even when it hurt her. Andrew was well meaning but, as Kayla claimed, he seemed to think if he threw enough money at a situation he would get his way.Perhaps if he would take that man-bun down he'd act more mature and TALK to people to find out what they want Just because he has the money to make things happen does not give him the right to make all the decisions, especially when they affect others.

Kayla and Andrew were high school sweethearts until he left town without a word, not even goodbye. Ten years later he's back with his little girl. The spark is still there and soon they're an item again. For a bit until a huge disagreement comes between them. This is a well written second chance romance with a cast of strong characters and a terrific storyline. The author brings all the feels, adds in drama, anxiety and a smokin hot chemistry. She paints her scenes in vivid detail and moves the story fluidly. I loved reading their story and highly recommend this book.

A story about second chances in love. Years ago, Andrew and Kayla were high school sweethearts until one day when he left for college, he left her and never heard from her again. It took her a while to get over that and now she can't wait to renew their relationship from then. Now that he's back with his young daughter, she doesn't want to risk being hurt like that again when she opens her heart again. Will Andrew manage to make amends and rekindle her love for him?
You will find out when you start reading their story is worth it.

I'm new into the world of Aimee, but have fallen in love!! She writes with such description it compels me to keep turning the pages.

I enjoy knowing the couple had history, but fast forward to how life moves on and let them reconnect. I enjoy how they slowly reconnect, but giving that years of a firm history doesn't require some of the nitty gritty we sometimes expect. These two made a great couple (And can I be honest....) I love that there was some honest conflict on how they best thought they could grow the community.

If you are in for a read to feed your need for heat, steam, comfort, familiar, and some good ol fashioned disagreements.....this is the book for you!!

Who doesn't sometimes hope they get a second chance with a lost love? Well this book, that story comes to life. Will Kayla and Andrew find their way back to each other?

One thing I don't like in books like this is everything is perfect, the second chance love happens like a fairy tale. Now that's a fun thing to read and see happen, but not always.

This story is real. It could be your sister's story or yours. You find your way back to a past love and get a second chance, but it's not all perfect. There is thrife, conflict, and they have to WORK on the relationship. Great book I applaud Aimee and look forward to reading more of her work.

A great small town story about a second chance and the brother's best friend. In high school, Kayla and Andrew dated for awhile. After 10 years, Andrew comes back as a millionaire with a daughter Kayla is now a lawyer. Kayla is hesitant about having Andrew back in her life. Still, they can't stay away from each other, and they start dating again. There are lots of funny, sad, and hot moments. The characters are very real and easy to like. I kept turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. Love their happy ending.

First off I really liked this book. Andrew and Kayla were High School Sweet Hearts then Andrew left without a word and broke Kayla's heart. Then 10 years later because of Kayla's brother Andrew's Bestie he comes back to town with a daughter in tow. And there the story begins! I loved the storyline of the book. The chemistry between Kayla and Andrew is out of this world. And the sizzle is hot. I loved the theme of second chances and fighting for what you believe in. I recommend this book for sure!

Coming home! Finding yourself and the love of your life.
Andrew is returning to Redenville, Ohio for the summer to give his daughter, Ellie, life outside the city. He grew up here and left for college, but now that he's back he likes how it feels to be home with his best friend James and James' family. And finding Kayla, the love he left behind, is even better!

Will he leave at the end of summer? Will he find reasons to stay? How will he and Ellie fit in to the community? Will he and Kayla give love a second chance?

Aimee Bronson has written a delightful second chance billionaire romance. Her book and characters are realistic while highlighting some of the issues of small towns in America. The Billionaire is thoughtful, generous, lovable, willing to admit his mistakes and the hero of the story. His counterpart is a smart, attractive lawyer who donates her time. Find out how the two reconnect and join the tumultuous ride to their HEA.

love it❣️

Love this story from beginning to end. A second chance between Andrew and Kayla, to get back together. The plot is good, it has the touches to entertain you on every page, the characters are good, and the development of the situation I liked. There was love between them but they had spent a lot of time apart and had to learn to know and understand each other again. Not forgetting that Andrew had a beautiful girl who from the first moment adored Kayla. A beautiful HEA.

I loved everything about this second chance romance between Kayla and Andrew. After a ten year separation as young lovers, Andrew is back in his small hometown with his daughter Ellie for the summer.

I loved the reconnection between the couple and the family dynamics of the characters of the town; extended families, close friends and everyone looking out for each other.

Bronson delivers a heartfelt story that is truly enjoyable. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Andrew and Kayla were together when they were teenagers but he ghosted her when he left for college. Now he is back and with a young daughter. Kayla tries to stay away because she is afraid she will get hurt again. He is willing to try anything to get her back. This book has all the good stuff including, second chance romance, single dad, billionaire and a wounded heroine. What's not to love.

I flew through this book! An enticing mix of girl next door and billionaire heartthrob, with plenty of tension and sauce to go around. Don't worry, Aimee doesn't make you wait too long 😉.
A woman is reunited with an old flame after many years of no contact when he suddenly moves back to their small town. They're both all grown up now, emotionally and physically; but will they/won't they???
Thanks for a good read Aimee, look forward to the next one!

This touching story had me cheering for Kayla to get her chance for happiness. She was in love with her brother's best friend and then he moved away leaving her lost and devastated. She has gotten her life back together, but she doesn't have a love life and then he returns years later, and the spark is still there between them. Will they get their chance for a happily ever after?

After ten year Andrew returns to his hometown with his daughter to spend the summer. The way he left without saying anything to Kayla his girlfriend at the time, he knew he had to set things right. Finally opening up to her he thinks everything is healing until his world come crashing down again. But it’s not entirely his fault. Kayla is just too unmoving in her ways.

Andrew and Kayla take us on quite the entertaining ride. Andrew left 10 years ago without saying goodbye to Kayla, she swore she'd never forgive him. When Andrew comes back to town things get interesting really quick. The chemistry is definitely still there but can Kayla truly forgive him. Cue the drama and angst as they work thru their past and figure out what the future holds. You will absolutely enjoy this read.
