I've been reading this on and off for the last year, since I saw Dr Berman on Oprah. I really like how honest and open she is, and have actually started to use the book with Matthew. I believe it can help open the dialogue about sex and our bodies early on.

This is a really good source of information for parents. There was a lot more covered than I had anticipated -- she was very thorough. I have to admit I learned a thing or two as well. I can see it being a book I refer back to from time to time as each kid grows -- I have 3.

We read this book with our kids ages 8-13. We found helpful information for the span of ages. The book created open discussion for us with our kids about changing bodies, peer pressure, and safe behavior.

I liked the way this book was set up. The author seemed to address all of the aspects of sex in an appropriate way. I felt like a lot of the topics addressed are a little bit down the road for my family, but it's good to start thinking about all of this. There are definitely some things I need to start discussing with my daughter even though she is still very young. This book gave me some good ideas and a start. I completely agree with the idea that children need to be educated in order to make good choices and that simply saying "don't do it" isn't nearly enough. Good diagrams and while the author is pretty open minded she consistently encourages the reader to think about their own values and the values they would like to teach their children. This may even be a good one to have on my self as a reference.

This book is filled with all kinds of topics related to kids and sex as well as the various stages of emotional and physical development . It offers a variety of techniques for bringing up the various subjects along with topics to discuss. It is written in a professional and respecful way and is able to accomodate the different perspectives and religious beliefs that many parents may have on this subject. I found it very easy to review the topics with my daughter in a non threatening or embarassing manner. Great for parents with kids.

Great book if you tend to make things more complex than they have to be. I needed help simplifying what I was going to say, she gave lots of great examples on how to respond.
