When Vanti and O’Neill graduated at the top of their academy class, they thought they'd get their dream assignments. Instead they end up in security on Station Kelly-Kornienko. Sure, the station is glitzy, but they’re basically well-dressed security guards.
Until someone murders the chair of the board.
O’Neill and Vanti go undercover to find the killer. Along the way, they learn much more about the station—and each other—than they ever expected.
This short story is a prequel to the complete Space Janitor series.
Author of the Colonial Exploration Corps, Space Janitor, Recycled World, and Krimson Empire series.
I grew up in the US Pacific Northwest, and after twenty years roaming the country with the US Air Force, I'm back. I have a spouse, three kids, and a dog named Pippin.
I've been an IT guy, a choir director, an executive assistant, a stay-at-home mom, a college instructor, and that lady at the information booth in a tourist town. But writer is the best job ever, because I get to make stuff up. Stuff I wish were true; stuff I'm glad isn't true.
When I'm not writing, I like to knit, read, bake, and ski. I also love to travel.
This novella is set before the rest of the Space Janitor series, before Triana is introduced. It deals with the first mission of O'Neil and Vanti together. And, as you might guess, it gives the background of the pudding references between them through the rest of the story. Bottom Line: Don't eat the pudding.... Again, if you enjoyed the series, or if you are a sci-fi and space opera fan, this is a recommended read.
Ok, this one was fairly weak, kind of felt like Ms. Huni either did this one as an after thought or early on. While I enjoyed learning about Ty and Vanti’s background the story seemed clunky most of the time. I think much of my disappointment was because Ty is treated more as a punching bag/fall guy than earlier and I really don’t see the professional bond between him and Vanti that’s shown in the other novels. This one leans toward three stars but I settled on two because it just wasn’t up to Ms. Huni’s other works.
I liked Vanti and O'Neill but the story itself was a confusing. I had a hard time visualising the space station from the description. Also chinese was spelled shinese, polish was spelled poelish. At first I thought it might have been an editing error but when I saw chicken spelled as chic'n I thought it might be part of how the language in this future changed. It was weird and annoyed me a bit. I'm thinking it might have been better to read this prequel story after the first book of the series.
This may have been an introduction to the characters. It doesn't really say what is going to happen to the caught characters. We do get the two main characters and maybe that was what this all was. I think that maybe it should be read after starting the series to better understand the politics.
This is a prequel to the Triana Moore Space Janitor series. It revolves around Triana's love interest, orbital security officer Tiberius (Ty) O'Neill, and his partner agent "Vanti" Floravanti on one of their first assignments. Good background on their relationship and why they work so well together.
Read Kindle book using Alexa audio asset. A Disjointed murder mystery in orbit, nanits and mysterious organizations involved. Unsure of who the two good guys 'security agents' are working for and why they do what they do. The good guys get banged up a lot and are ineffective. Borrowed Kindle Unlimited.
I had actually read a couple of the Space Janitor books prior to this one. While it’s not necessary to read this one first, it does flesh out a couple of the characters and give you an idea of the setting. I enjoyed this short story. The Space Janitor series is a fun sci-fi read.
This entire series is worth reading. Humorous and well written. The story is fun and keeps you interested. The characters are great. All of these stories are clean as well so there's no need to worry about being embarrassed!
Orbital Operations is a short story that takes place years before The Vacuum of Space and it follows Agent Ty O’Neill and his partner Vanti as they investigate a murder on the SK2 space station, which is the space station that Triana Moore lives on.
I really enjoyed this short story! It was a lot of fun, and I just love Ty. It was in his POV, by the way, which I really enjoyed. And we got to meet his partner Vanti, who I also really liked. She is a badass and she is sassy and I really hope we get to see more of her in the series because I loved the camaraderie between her and Ty. We also had an Anabelle Morgan appearance, which was pretty cool (and if you’ve read book one, then you know who she is 😏). And although the take down of the bad guy was a little anticlimactic in my opinion, I did overall enjoy the story.
I received this story through a free download, thank you Julia Huni It is a prequel to the Space Janitor series and is set on a space station which houses thousands of people complete with retail, manufacturing and recreation facilities. Security agents O'Neill and Vanti must find a murderer when one of the council members is killed. I enjoyed the story and think the series would be very good
a cute and entertaining story taking place on a space plateform. the 2 new agents have more brain power than their commander but then he obtained his position through political methods . however; the 2 dont let that bothher them and go their own way and use theirmown methods to find out who the murder was with a little help from the Polish mafia. Well worth reading. I read this under thentitle Orbital Operations.
