Read it for a glimpse at queer life in the late 40s/early 50s. The first two (of four) are interesting in the handling of the protagonist’s budding queer sexuality, but the story and writing goes off the rails in the third—too much happens too quickly (like his first queer sexual encounter) with zero of the resistance or thoughts conveyed a few pages earlier. His strong of lovers come and go with little emotional attachments (and these are boyfriends, not one night stands). Interesting depiction of a stable, loving gay couple who are neighbors. Predictably tragic ending.
