Cadeon Cross can have anything he wants in life—almost. His band, Devil’s Cross, is hitting all the right notes and topping the charts. Between the perks of fame and making more money than he could ever spend, Cadeon should be living the dream. The problem is, what he dreams about most is her . Katerina Troyer is over the man who broke her four years ago. At least that is what she thought…until he suddenly reappears claiming he wants her back. Too bad Katerina has already been down that road and has zero desire to go for another drive down memory lane. It doesn’t matter that his smile still makes her brain go stupid, or that her traitorous heart still beats in time with his. She has no desire to waste her time on love, or on him. So, what do you get when you mix one stubborn rock star, one sassy woman, and one broken heart? One hell of a ride. Lost Notes is a slow-burn, steamy rock star romance. So hop on, strap in, and enjoy the ride!
This was the first book I have read by this author, and I doubt I will pursue more. The book was ok, but nothing really grabbed or kept my attention. It didn’t seem to be plot or character driven. It seemed like the author was trying to fit in so many tropes that nothing really got expanded on. Some of these tropes were ones that I do not enjoy, so others may find them more meaningful.
This was a quick easy read. There’s some good banter and dialogue, and Katie doesn’t take shit from anyone, which is always great to see in a female MC. The book was described as a slow-burn, steamy romance. The steam didn’t really start until the last third of the book (other than a kiss or two). It seemed like the characters went back and forth between hot and cold instead of the steady build up that I associate with a good slow burn. Overall it’s not a bad read, but it also wasn’t quite what I was expecting.
(I received a free ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
Emma Rae Sullivan’s debut book, Lost Notes, hits all the right ones with this story of stupid mistakes and second chances. Cade, a rock star, wants to reunite with Katie, the sweetheart he left behind to pursue his dreams. You can’t help rooting for the man he’s become and his attempt to get her back. Katie is no longer the innocent teenager he left behind and he’s got his work cut out for him. Great characters, a nice slow burn build up and a terrific resolution makes this a great read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
This is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is Cade’s and Katie’s story. Cade and Katie were neighbours they were the best of friends then they fell in love on their 3rd anniversary Cade had to leave Katie but he couldn’t tell her so he left while she was sleeping he left a note and it ripped his soul to pieces to leave Katie he had no choice and Cade hoped that Katie would be able to forgive him but what Cade didn’t know is that he left Katie a precious gift. I loved this story it was heartbreaking, entertaining and so much more and I definitely recommend this book.
Ok, if you like soft romances that still have a touch of spice, read this. I’m serious- if you like Colleen Hoover, Casey McQuiston, Ali Hazelwood, you will love this book. And no, I’m NOT being paid for this review.
I met the author in my local Barnes and Noble, and after me begging like a child, she handed over this title to me. I loved it. It’s like a 1.5-2/5 for spice (minimal but descriptive), and it’s sitting at about a 4/5 stars for me. Literally adorable, and perfect for someone who wants something soft, but that still has a few curve balls thrown in.
A new author to me and it was a wonderful way for a debut novel to present itself. Well written with lovely characters, I enjoyed reading this book very much. The emotional connection between the characters was present and I connected with both of them. Nicely done.
Regretting some past decisions, Cade decides to get Katie's love back and, for that, he counts with the help of his band's friends and his family, once Katie can't forgive and trust him. This story has several light, tense, love, comic and discovery moments.
I was hooked from the very start. I was crying and laughing all the way through the whole book. Cade and Katie are the epitome of soul mates. They were always meant to be and the beautiful relationship and love they had was amazing to watch. Definitely a MUST read.
This was a nice debut for a new author to me. I liked that Cade took his head out of his backside but it took awhile. I liked that Katie didn’t just fall at Cades feet right away.
