I love that this voice is out in the world; there is a woman so different from me in personality, but so similar to me in need and flaw that I can admire and nod from afar, but question and cry and comfort up close. Maybe if I was around in the '60s and '70s, her voice would be mine. Regardless, I'm grateful her voice exists.
A really beautiful set of stories that explore self identity through the relationships we have with people who cross our path (in a non cheesy way). I had a hard time putting it down, mostly because her vivid descriptions of where she traveled to (mostly around Northern CA) and the people she met.
I read this book in a frenzy, amazed at the soul of Sharon Doubiago revealed in fragments through these stories. She is a warrior of truth, fearless....
