DNF @ 31%

I thought I could get over the way the story is written but I can’t. It doesn’t flow well and it’s choppy. The college-aged kids act like they’re younger than they are and it’s taking away from their character development. Most of the time the dialogue has an exclamation mark in it. That’s more of a pet peeve of mine because then I picture the characters acting as if they’re in a constant state of excitement. No one is that excited over everything.

The heroine isn’t funny either. All the guys are always talking about how funny she is. And I’m just sitting there like whatttt?! How?

Let's see...positives. Uh... It was well-edited (as in mostly error-free)? And uh... maybe the elemental concept was kinda cool?

Negatives...

It read like it was written by a 12-year-old. And was thus unreadable.

BIG DNF.

(and since I realized this was the SECOND time I have tried to read it, I am making sure to note it DNF so I don't bother trying a third time!)

Incredible

Meet Bre who thinks she is a remarkably clumsy girl. This bad license has even kills her best friend in an accident sending her into a depression. When she goes to college events converge that change her life forever as she starts to learn more about what the really is. The guys are all hot, the magic is amazing, and I was in love with the slow build of the relationship. I am truly attached to the Elemental world now and with an ending like that how can you not want the next book? If you like paranormal reverse harem romance novels then you so have to read this! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Ugh sorry not sorry but this book was bad. I almost DNF

The MC was soooo annoying like she was so all over the place, it felt like she tried to much to be funny and she didn't ask a lot of questions she just obeyd and did as they said... like whut in that situation i would ask a million questions.
And the guys where a bit cringey and kind of boring.
This book was so rushed also, like first they all met together and then bam they go to be crazy in love with each other. Insta love delux. And she is so un normal accepting when they talk bout the elements... and it's just going to fast and it's badly writen. I also felt like what i was reading that someone was telling me

First, I will say this book reads more like a YA than anything. I'm not 100% sure if it was intended to be as the description doesn't specify it is, but that's definitely how it reads. It caught me off guard initially as I wasn't expecting it, and that made it a little harder to enjoy in the beginning. Personally, I have a different mindset when reading YA books, so I needed to switch gears in my head, so to speak to get into the story. I feel like that is important to note as some people don't like YA.

Second, the story as good. The characters are sweet and fun. Bre is a new college student, recently having experienced the loss of her best friend, and feeling alone. The guys step up and turn her life around once they discover she is special. They are each sweet in their own way, and they all work to protect her, take care of her, and make her one of them. Bre goes from feeling alone to having a family she cares for. It's very endearing.

Lastly, I enjoyed this book as far as the story is concerned. However, there were times when some scenes and/or dialogue felt a little choppy. The whole book would have been more enjoyable had they been a little more smoothly flowing.

Overall, the story was good and an enjoyable read. I would recommend to anyone who likes YA paranormal books, especially romance and slow burns.

I loved it!!

Ryann Elizabeth has come out with a new spin on elementals. I read so much that sometimes it feels like I am reading the same book over and over. Not with this book! I loved her different take on elementals. I want to be an animal elemental!!

Bre is a wonderful MC and her guys!! *Hot, hot, hot!!* I can not wait for the next book!

First off....it's not a retake on the whole elemental genre, it really feels like I am reading um *cough cough* a totally different certain elemental book that Ryann Elizabeth just swapped certain things around added way too many thank you's, greats and exclamation points. The guys seemed over the top perfect, she was actually slightly annoying and the only thing that totally set her apart from that um certain other elemental book was those horrible clutzy things always happened to or around her and those stopped as soon as she met her bonded. She could honestly with all her traits and such be the younger sister of the main character in the other series. Hmm I just wonder will her father show up in the next book claiming he had been held prisoner for most of her life and say her bonding helped him find her.

Five elements

Book one in a series. This is a na, reverse harem paranormal series. The characters are "elementals" who have one of five powers. Except our heroine has all five unbeknownst to her growing up. At college she suddenly protects herself using a blast of Air and some young men recognize she is like them. They befriend her and begin her training, surprised that she has all the powers, and they all each have one. Thus the adventures begin. This is a truly adolescent story with eye rolling dorky dialogue. But it's cute and a fun read if you can deal with that. The spicy scenes are sure to heat up as she develops her relationships with her five friends. She's being pursued by unknown evil perpetrators, and the cliffhanger is dark. Grammatically correct for the most part.

For a debut, this was a wonderful surprise. Tragedy strikes Bre right before heading off to college and she struggles to find out who she really is, considering all the strange things that happen to her and around her. All five of the guys in her book have different personalities that were well fleshed-out, especially since Bre has a different type of relationship with each one. I refuse to give spoilers in a review, but this is a reverse harem novel that reads as a cross between young adult and new adult. I'm sure the next book will be a little steamier, but for now, it's more on the YA end of the spectrum. Can't wait to see what Ryann Elizabeth has in store for us with book #2!

The story was good but the interactions between the characters felt a little stilted & overly formal at times. It also seems like the girl just jumped into intimacy with all of the guys without a bit more development or build up. It should have taken more than a couple of kisses to get her into those sexual situations. I understand that she was sleeping with all of them but there was no indication that there was anything else going on but sleep. It felt a little too rushed for me. I knew it would end in a cliffhanger with her getting kidnapped. Slightly cliche but I'm willing to stick with it.

This book was great. The whole idea of the story was nothing like I have read before. Bre is a great female lead and takes everything in stride. She is funny and confident with the guys. The guys are amazing. They help Bre find out what she is and help her get over her past. I loved all the guys overall but some where shoved in the background. Hopefully we will see all the guys better in the next book. This book went a little too fast in the beginning but got better as the story went on. This book ended on a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book.

Mixed feelings

I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved the premise of the plot. It’s exactly what I want when I need a break from my normal troupes I read. I went through this book in less than 24hrs. On the other hand, I felt that the writing style and dialogue between the characters was very juvenile. I wish there was more build up so we got more of a background going into the mild cliffhanger. With that being said I will move on to book 2 and see how the story progresses.

Fantastic concept

I actually had to push to read this. There's a lot of info dumps. There's also a lot of switching back and forth between past and present tense. Finally the formatting was odd. The style was a line space between paragraphs, but sometimes there was no space and I had to reread to work out who was actually talking.
I'm actually not proceeding with the rest of the series. A good developmental author could really take this book from a five out of ten to a nine or ten.

I absolutely loved this book! Bre is a wonderful MC, and her guys are amazing as well. I love the take on elementals that Ryann has, it’s very interesting. I gravitated toward this book immediately when I saw it was an elemental RH, it’s my fav genre! These characters are well thought out, the plot is a great change to what I normally read, and the end leaves you wanting the next book ASAP! It’s a great breakout book for a new and awesome up and coming author!!!

This was a really good read. The characters were all different and fun. The story was a bit different and kept me interested with the elemental theme. I’m excited to learn more about Bre, her history and who this mysterious Dresden guy is that’s been after her. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it was a little slow at the beginning and took a bit to get through but around a quarter in it picked up and I loved it!!
Def recommend this read! :)

Why choose/ paranormal/ college/ OW drama

Trigger warning: death of a loved one/ attempted murder/ murder/ trauma/ PTSD/ attempted kidnapping

I honestly struggled with this one. The writing is not good. The characters are boring. The banter tries too hard to be funny. This plot feels rushed and the relationships between the MCs feels inorganic. Overall an interesting premise but poor execution.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a great start to a new series. Bre has been through a lot of strange things and it is no different when tragedy strikes. While recovering she meets an amazing group of guys that are like her. They begin to teach her about herself and things start to heat up between her and the guys. I can’t wait for more!

I enjoyed this story. The conversations seemed almost choppy and not like a bunch of teenagers/early twenty years old. There was even times the conversation repeated and I had to reread the page to get it. I did like that a lot of time was spent on the relationship although none of the characters seem fully developed. I will be waiting to read the next book in the series.

Enjoyed this book!

As others have stated this book had a few flaws in it, yes at times it seemed hurried and the writing a tad choppy but the overall story and the characters in the book were very enjoyable! Very nicely done for a debut book! I did not want the story to end and was disappointed when it did - will definitely read book 2.

Loved it

What a wonderful and beautiful book, it is playful and sad, it is exciting and relaxed. I absolutely loved this book. I can't wait to read the next on. The characters are loveable, I instantly wanted them to be real so I could meet them. Ryann Elizabeth wrote a wonderful book, thank you.

Decent

This was a decent storyline well written my only complaint is that the dialogue was stilted and too formal with a distinct lack of contractions, they didn't speak like late teen/ early 20s. There was also a fair bit of over explaining and it got s bit too telly and less showy in places. But the actual storyline was good and I liked all of the characters.

This book seems like it was written for a 12 year old; the prose is almost childish and silly and lacks depth. The storyline is good and the characters are alright but seriously what's with the writing?

Elemental hottness!!

I couldn't quite give this book 5 stars because to me it was just a little lackluster. However I did love the plot and all five of those guys are just yummy. Can I keep chase and Harrison please!

Unrealistic

Way too many thank yous in this book, it wasn't just unrealistic but irritatingly took away from the story. There wasn't enough character interaction and growth for the kind of feelings they supposedly had for each other. The sentence phrasing was too formal.

I liked this book, a well written story with a great bunch of characters, an FMC, who has no idea what's going on, but soon
learns that her life will never be the same. Looking forward to reading more
