He loves the sweet life

Greg Hutchins is reluctantly adulting these days. He’s settled in his job, recently bought his first house, and has a network of friends he can call family. But there’s something missing in his life, and he can’t quite put his finger on it. When he’s assigned to a case that involves investigating a biochemical company, he meets a woman who’s sweeter than any candy. Maybe she’s just the thing to make him feel complete.

She’s ready for the future

Noelle LaVigne has faced plenty of tragedy in her life, but she’s on the right path now. Between her new job and settling into a new city, she’s got no time for dating or relationships. She’s worked hard to get where she is, and no man is going to push her off track. Except the minute Hutch crosses her path she can’t seem to think about anything but the handsome security expert. He’s there to find a corporate spy, but late-night work sessions make her think they’ve both found something much more meaningful.

A twist they never saw coming

When the case becomes dangerous, both of their futures are on the line. And when the bullets start flying, they will have to learn to trust in each other if they hope to survive.

This book is totally girl-next-door meets boy-next-door, with a BDSM twist.

25-year-old Noelle LaVigne is a scientist originally from the small town of Papillon, Louisiana. She moves to big-city Texas (either Fort Worth or Dallas, I can never remember which) for her job, but also to get a chance to spread her wings. She was in a terrible car accident as a teenager which left her paralysed; she can walk now, though she sometimes needs a cane or wheelchair. One of the experiences she's especially looking forward to is joining Sanctum, Ian Taggart's BDSM club, and undergoing training to be a submissive.

Greg 'Hutch' Hutchins, on the other hand, is the baby-faced computer guy to McKay-Taggart Securities. Everyone basically treats him kind of as a little brother - he's gone through some traumatic experiences with the mad scientist Hope McDonald, but he also has a childlike attachment to candy and he's just generally an incredibly sweet guy (with a penchant for hooking up with women in closets). Still, as all his friends settle down with kids and get married, the manwhore lifestyle is starting to pall.

Oh, he's also a Dom at Sanctum.

Noelle and Hutch originally get off on the wrong foot, as he accidentally insults her within her hearing. But they move very quickly into being friends, and Hutch knows early on that he wants to be more than friends. I was worried this would feel inorganic, like he was latching onto Noelle because he wanted to get into a serious relationship and she was the first available woman who came along. But Blake does a really great job at making it feel believable.

Both Noelle and Hutch are just such SWEET characters, with youngish personalities, and it was adorable seeing them get together. Background drama is provided by a potential attempt on Noelle's life, linked to her job, and by the fact that she initially doesn't want a serious relationship: she's only just left home. But Hutch, buried under his good-guy exterior, has a Dom streak (my favourite kind of hero) and he totally wins Noelle over.

Great start to the Masters and Mercenaries: Reloaded Series!

SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE is Noelle LaVigne and Greg "Hutch" Hutchins' story.

Noelle is the daughter of Armie LaVigne and Stepdaughter of Lila Daley from BUTTERFLY BAYOU. I loved seeing Noelle all grown up and perusing her career as a scientist like she wanted to in Butterfly Bayou. But her brilliance is the reason she has some people after her, even though she is denial over that fact. Now that Noelle is no longer living in her small town her father hires McKay-Taggert to investigate what is happening at Genedyne Labs, the biochemical company where she works.

Hutch has been in a few of the Master and Mercenaries books but in this one his roll is front and center, guard Noelle and find out who is after her, and he does this by pretending to be her boyfriend! I'm sure neither one expected the sparks to fly when they were together but they did, and Hutch certainly didn't expect to find out that Noelle was signed up to begin classes at Sanctum....something he wasn't to happy about.

The chemistry between Hutch and Noelle was great. I loved that he didn't look at her differently because she had a disability, in fact I think I loved him more because of that fact. The story line was intriguing and will keep you guessing on who the bad guy is for a while because there are so many things going on you don't know who you can trust.

If you enjoy Romantic Suspense or BDSM Romances I would recommend this book to you. You do not have to have read any of the previous books where Noelle or Hutch have appeared because this is an entirely new story and can be read as a standalone.

Happy Reading!!!

A Bayou crossover and spinoff of the Master & Mercenaries literary world, Lexi Blake's Submission Impossible was absolutely brilliant. A love story brimming with passion, laughter and nail-biting suspense, this riveting BDSM romance was simply one of her best. (I say that with each novel Blake pens, but honestly, she is one heck of an exceptional writer). Between the intense sexual chemistry and the tremendous level of angst woven into the plot, I was immediately addicted to Hutch and Noelle's story. A fantastic beginning to what I believe will be an extraordinary series, this read eclipsed everything I've ever wished for when it came to this couple and their emotional journey.

Noelle LaVigne may come from a small town in Louisiana and struggles physically due to a tragic accident but has great aspirations for her career. As an up-and-coming scientist, she is working diligently on a groundbreaking project. However, villainous characters are lurking in the shadows, hacking into her data system as Noelle becomes their latest target, putting her life and research in danger. That's when the boys from McKay-Taggart, namely Greg "Hutch" Hutchins, enters her life as he is tasked with keeping her safe. These two have a very bumpy start but eventually discover they fit each other perfectly.

I adored Noelle. Despite her disability, this intelligent, strong-willed and tenacious woman is determined to succeed in everything she does. I love how she fights to overcome her difficulties to remain strong and independent. The sweet little girl I met in Butterfly Bayou is all grown up and discovers she has a very kinky side she wants to explore. And Hutch is more than happy to help not only guard her life but help guide Noelle in Sanctum's world.

A secondary character in several of the previous installments, Hutch surprised me in a good way. Hiding beneath the sexy geek persona exists a sweet, loving, protective and vulnerable man who sacrificed so much for his McKay-Taggart family. A Dom who never expected to find true love, yet he happily took a chance at a serious relationship with Noelle. The way he tended to all of Noelle's needs was touching. Although reluctant at first, Noelle also took a leap of faith, entrusting Hutch with her life and heart. Their connection was instant and explosive.

Amid this incredible love story lies an intriguing plot filled with drama, secrets, deceptions and danger. I savored every moment of all this angst. This tale took many a twist and turn that had me on edge, never wanting the story to end. With a cast of both familiar and new characters that I've come to adore, along with some that I loathed, Submission Impossible was one of the best romantic suspense novels and an all-time favorite. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.

Blake is in a league of her own as she masterfully spins her web, creating magic, as she writes the most detailed, thought-provoking yet passion-filled romances that I utterly enjoy. A definite 5 star read from this amazingly talented author that I highly recommend. Although Submission Impossible has roots in other series, it could certainly be read as a standalone.

Lexi Blake is one of my favorite authors for a reason, and while I tend to buy whatever she writes without even reading the blurb, I was particularly excited about Submission Impossible because it's about one of my favorite side characters! I've been hoping for a HEA for Hutch for what feels like ages and it was finally his turn =D

Hutch and Noelle are HOT HOT HOT together and I loved the interplay between them as well as the many mysteries that started to spring up throughout the book. Blake is a master at interweaving layered storylines that later blow my mind with how the clues have been laid out through multiple books. The kink and sex are sizzling, the characters make you feel ALL the things, and the plot gets into your head and won't let go. I already can't wait for the next one.

I didn’t realize when I started Submission Impossible that the heroine, Noelle, is the daughter of the hero in the Butterfly Bayou series. I just love it when an author crosses over series and brings back well loved characters. We also get the many characters from the original Masters & Mercenaries series. I’ve enjoyed all these characters, and it helped create an instant connection to this new series.

Hutch was great. He was very protective of Noelle and I like that he had to pursue her. I’m a sucker for a guy-chase-girl story. And then there’s Kyle. It’s funny how he felt like a main character and yet he wasn’t the hero. He never took away from Hutch as the hero, but he sure did make things a lot more interesting. I’m looking forward to getting his book.

This was a great start to the spin off of Masters & Mercenaries.

4.25 stars—SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE is the first instalment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult MASTERS AND MERCENARIES: RELOADED erotic, BDSM, romantic suspense series-a spin off from the author’s Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten, which in turn is a spin off from the original Masters and Mercenaries. This is Greg ‘Hutch’ Hutchins, and scientist Noelle LaVigne’s story line. SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE can be read as a stand alone, you do not have to have read the previous series to follow or understand. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s LAWLESS series.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise there are some scenes of bondage and discipline, domination and submission including spanking and rope play.

Told from third person perspective SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE follows Greg ‘Hutch’ Hutchins, as a member of the McKay-Taggart security force, tasked with the protection of scientist Noelle LaVigne in the wake of a suspicious death of a fellow researcher at Genedyne Labs. Along with fellow security specialist Kyle Hawthorne, Hutch goes undercover as Noelle’s boyfriend, in an effort to stay closer to the woman with whom he will fall in love but all is not well at the Genedyne Labs, when our heroine is targeted for her work, and the people hired to protect her come under scrutiny from the man in charge. What ensues is the building but contemptuous relationship between Noelle and Hutch as our couple navigate a minefield of corporate espionage, secrets, lies and attacks against Noelle, Hutch and Kyle Hawthorne.

Greg Hutchins struggles with what was and what will never be but our hero knows that Noelle is the woman that calls to his heart, and the submissive to his Dominant side but protecting Noelle becomes increasingly difficult as she refuses to believe she is a potential target at Genedyne Labs. There is more than one team investigating the who, what and why at Genedyne Labs, and our heroine will be caught in the middle of a fight for control.

The relationship between Hutch and Noelle begins acrimoniously as Hutch refuses to ‘babysit’ a spoiled scientist, and our heroine refuses to accept protection from the man with whom she will fall in love. Pretending to be in a committed relationship Hutch agrees to become Noelle’s Dominant when her introduction at Sanctum spirals out of control. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several of the characters including Big Tag and Charlotte (Masters and Mercenaries), Grace and Sean play secondary and supporting roles. We are introduced to IT specialist Mae Beatrice Vaughn aka MaeBe, security specialists Michael Malone and Kyle Hawthorne, Genedyne CEO Jessica Layne , Noelle’s father Armie LaVigne and his wife Lila, engineer Peter Moore, Dallas PD Chris Taylor, and Cara Dover.

SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE is a story of betrayal, power and control; corporate espionage; money, murder, relationships and love. The premise is engaging, intriguing and entertaining; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are animated, energetic and dynamic.

Any way that Lexi Blake can keep bringing Masters & Mercenaries’ cast of characters and their steamy and suspenseful story lines to readers’ Kindles, I’m all for, so her latest spin-off of that series, Reloaded, is a great way to keep the McKay-Taggart clan expanding and continuing to kick butt and save lives.

Submission Impossible is Noelle LaVigne and Greg ‘Hutch’ Hutchins’ story. Avid readers of Blake’s stories might remember these two in their supporting roles, but now they’re front and center and with the trouble that Noelle is in, based on the unusual death of her co-worker and the threatening letters now addressed to her, she needs Hutch to protect her and keep her safe, but what ends up happening between them is so much more than a protection detail, which means the stakes are even higher than when Hutch first came into Noelle’s life.

There’s so much to learn about Noelle - she’s such a strong and driven heroine - one who doesn’t allow her weaknesses to overpower her…one who works hard to achieve her goals. What makes her even more intriguing is what she learns about herself under the tutelage of Hutch as her Dom; exploring that side of herself, what she likes and what she needs and how freeing it is, changes who she is and how she sees herself, which shows a complexity of her character as Hutch helps her learn every part of herself.
Hutch is a complex man, and I enjoyed learning who he is and why he does what he does. He can be the tough as nails protector who would willingly give up his life for those he protects, but he’s also a gentleman in every sense of the word and getting to know that side of him as well makes it easy to understand why Noelle is drawn to him and vice versa.

There’s nothing like one of Lexi Blake’s romantic suspense stories. She blends the danger and the decadent together so well that every part of the plot line is engaging, which is why I’ll never stop wanting to be in this McKay-Taggart world whenever I can.

This book ties quite a few series together and did so in a good way. I was intrigued when I realized that Hutch was going to be the hero in this one. In the past he's been in the background, the funny, geeky guy who was always eating sweets. I knew he had been through bad things once he started interacting with the McKay/Taggert clan, but learning his whole history really made me like him. He was an ass at the start, I was glad that Nicole firmly put him in his place. Yet I was surprised by how fast he they both fell for each other and the amount of 1 step forward, 2 steps back they went through. It was all worth it in the end, but man...so much drama in the meantime.

Nicole's work situation was crazy! I'm glad that they got things figured out and were able to stop what was going on there and make big changes. But I worry what they are up against going forward because you know this won't be the only confrontation with this group. Hopefully this motley crew can take down this group once and for all.

Masters & Mercenary: Reloaded, book 1 features Hutch and Noelle (along with the McKay-Taggart team). If you've ever read any of Lexi Blake's books, you know that she can do BDSM in some very delightful ways, but she also has substance in her books. This story, I'm not going to spoil but I will say that characters are intriguing, and they're well thought out.
Hutch is ready to start his life - he's grown up, he's matured, and he's questioning where his life is heading. He's part of the Tag family mercenary team, a bodyguard or whatever you want to call him, whatever his job is. His next job is going to be one of the most difficult. Noelle is brilliant scientist with a past, lots of tragedy has befallen her but she doesn't give up.
When her co-worker dies mysteriously, and some information on our laptop goes astray. She's in over her head. That's where the Tag family comes in. This is a great joining of two different types of people and the story just flows. There's never a dull moment, and the people are real - they make mistakes, but ultimately they find their way.
Action, adventure, suspense, all of that, along with some super hot sexy scenes, and in the end, love. What more could you ask for?
I'm excited for Book Two.

Ian saved this but then The Originals are still the best in this Series. Here the H is Beta, he has sex with the childish h on Day One, their chemistry is The Hallmark Channel in The Redroom and the larger plot device of Dead Woman wearing a new face to get back at the guy who threw her over is clearly going to color the rest of the books to come.

I don’t know how this story is getting 5 stars at Amazon, it’s a struggle to even give it 3. Go read Dungeon Royale - that’s the good shit, this stuff is watered down.

Book 1 of Lexi Blake's newest series hits all the feels!! She has her Masters and Mercenaries BDSM club, but also the sweetness from her Butterfly Bayou series mixed together. If you have read Lexi Blake before, then you have met both Hutch and Noelle. Noelle is the daughter/step-daughter of Lila and Armie from Butterfly Bayou and has come back from a life altering car accident. Hutch has been in previous Masters and Mercenaries books as one of their top computer experts. Blake continually gives us heroines who are strong and capable not matter what they have been through int heir lives. She doesn't ever give us a wilting flower that is in capable of standing strong on their own two feet, but is always bolstered by the hero. She shows us that again here....Hutch doesn't see Noelle as having physical issues, he sees her for the bright beautiful person she is, especially after he made an epic mistake when they first met. But he makes every moment count after that. In typical Masters and Mercenaries fashion, we get those suspense elements and they are intense. This is a great start to her newest series, and I am sure without a doubt that we have many more to come.

Noelle needs help, someone to protect her. She has found something a coworker left and now the coworker is dead. Noelle is trying to piece together who killed her coworker without getting herself killed. Her dad calls a favor in with his buddy at McKay-Taggart. What she wasn't expecting was Hutch.

Greg "Hutch" Hutchins is the computer whiz at McKay-Taggart, and he is assigned to the case of Noelle and he can't believe it when he meets her. The connection he feels is something that he wasn't expecting. What he learns is that she loves to bake but she is sweeter than her baked treats.

Can Hutch find out who is trying to steal the research Noelle is working on? Can he keep her safe from whoever is after her? What happens when Noelle thinks Hutch is trying to steal her research?

I loved the Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten series and this spin-off of the original Master & Mercenaries, Reloaded is starting off with a bang. It is filled with suspense, a little BDSM, alpha males, and strong heroines. I can't wait for more.

Oh, I was SO happy to see that we were getting more from this wonderful group of people and their complicated world. I am so invested in them all, and any chance to get back with them and see how previous relationships are moving forward, and new romances starting out. What a treat! If you are new to this group of series, then I would recommend that you start with an earlier book – but you could read this, feel the richness, and then go back, if you really can't wait to get Greg and Noelle's story.

Most of the guys of M&M are physically strong and their activities involve danger in the field. But Greg “Hutch” is invaluable for his IT skills. The new case requires a bit of both. I really enjoyed how he dealt with some very tough issues, as well as enjoying the techie side of things.

Noelle is a talented scientist who is working for a company where another scientist has died in suspicious circumstances. She is certain that there was something strange going on, and decides to investigate. Fortunately for her, her father (who we know from the Butterfly Bayou series) calls in a favour, and Hutch is sent in to help. As we get to understand what the issues are, I think most of us who know already just how bad Lexi Blake scientists can be, will be relieved that this involves less horrific experiments than before! A clever twist is involved instead.

I loved how Hutch and Noelle are together, how they accept how each other comes to the relationship, and have a lovely positive attitude to life – even when things are not looking too good.

I cannot wait to see what is going to happen in future installments – I am so happy to be back in this world!

M/F Romance
Triggers: Murder

Noelle is fantastic at her job. She has a loving family and while home visiting, she mentions to her cop dad that something might be wrong with the recent accident at work. And while the person who died wasn’t her best friend, Noelle knows that they were a competent scientist.

With an overprotective streak a mile wide, Noelle’s dad calls up an old friend to help protect his daughter. Noelle knows that she is to meet with the McKay-Taggart group to figure out whether or not she needs protecting.

Hutch doesn’t make the best first impression by insulting Noelle before he even sees her. Noelle isn’t one to stand on being polite, especially to someone who has judged her so incorrectly, so she puts Hutch in his place.

With espionage, hidden agendas, and hot bodyguards, Noelle and Hutch will have to fight for their lives and their love.

Blake doesn’t disappoint with this new series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you get to see the McKay-Taggart gang.

I can’t wait to see more!

Finally (finally!) almost caught up on this series as we approach the end of the year.

After some time away, this was the reset read I've been looking for. This was more or less what I was expecting. I enjoyed Hutch's turn as the lead, and I liked Noelle quite a bit. There was a bit too much drama at the end, but I'm into the setup for this particular series arc and very excited Michael finally gets a book next.

Reread 2/3/23: Hutch thinking of Ian as his father figure is a lot. This really is a great intro to this quintet, excited to read the conclusion soon.

3.5 rounded up for GR

Submission Impossible is a first book in a spinoff series from Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series. I am a huge Lexi Blake and MM series fan so I was super excited to start this one.

Greg Hutchins, who we met meet sooo many books ago when he was raiding McKay- Taggart with the CIA and Ten then he went undercover willingly tortured to save Theo. Now with all this sacrifice, he’s still a pretty happy guy but looking for someone to share his life with. Enter Noelle LaVigne who we met in the the Butterfly Bayou series book one, see it’s all interconnected. Do you have to read all the other books to enjoy this one- I don’t think so but you would appreciate the characters more if you did- that’s just my opinion.

Noelle is a brilliant chemist working for a start up but her rival has been murdered, her laptop hacked and her overprotective daddy has called in the MT team. Hutch is assigned to protect Noelle, he moves in with her and pretends to be her boyfriend also he’s a Dom and she is starting a submissive class. While these two give into their attraction, begin some super sexy playing and try to solve the case, there is another story playing out in the background.

I really liked Hutch, I have from his introduction. His love of candy, how Big Tag takes him under his wing, and how he gave up so much to save Theo, he is just a softie that deserves all the happiness. I liked how he could go from techie nerd to no nonsense Dom in a heartbeat. Noelle was prefect for him. How she had to overcome her car accident, learning to walk and was ready to embrace her inner sub made her the right balance of strength to vulnerability for Hutch. She needed someone to protect her but not coddle her and he did that.

For me the plot of this one seemed really similar to another of her series. We have big pharma doing bad things, forming huge alliances and the MT team coming in so protect and save. As a first book, it introduced who I think will play the overarching baddie who is stalking Kyle and they seemed a lot like Levi Green, the bad guy from pervious books that is dead. I am interested in the next books- Michael Malone, Boomer and hopefully Kyle Hawthorne so I will keep going.

4-4.25 stars. This was really good! Submission Impossible is the first book in the rebooted Masters and Mercenaries: Reloaded series. This is Hutch's long awaited story and his lady love is Noelle, the daughter of Armie from Butterfly Bayou. Noelle is now grown up and is a scientist who works at a lab/think tank. She also is differently abled in her legs due to an accident as a child. Hutch is in charge of computer investigations and such at McKay Taggart. Noelle's coworker is killed in a suspicious accident at work and she, herself, starts receiving threatening messages. So her father hooks her up with McKay Taggart for them to help her investigate and to protect her. She soon meets Hutch and Kyle. Hutch plays her boyfriend undercover and Kyle plays his brother. Noelle and Hutch click and make a great match, so their pretending turns real as the heat turns up on their investigation as well.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was fast paced and engrossing. It was hard to put down. I was really happy to see Noelle and Hutch finally get their HEAs together! They had great chemistry and were really sweet and cute together. Noelle was applying for the trainee program at Sanctum before meeting Hutch. He turned out to be a really fun dom for her and didn't take himself too seriously. There was a really good mystery too. This book was interesting and entertaining. I did want a little bit more happy times shown between the couple together at the end for closure. But still, this was a really good read.

Overall, I really enjoyed Noelle and Hutch's story. This was a great start to this reloaded series and I can't wait for more! I truly love the Masters and Mercenaries series world and Lexi Blake's writing is so consistantly great.

I can't even begin to explain how happy I am that Lexi Blake is continuing with her Masters and Mercenaries series. I was especially excited that she's doing this reloaded set. I have read many other books by this author, but I particularly love the way she writes suspense and BDSM. She writes it in a way that neither of those aspects seem to take over the story. There is a perfect blend of suspense and romance and humor and BDSM. There's also this great family feel to it that is amazing because not all of these characters are bound by blood but they are family all the same.

This story was really great for me because of the main characters. I didn't know much about Hutch but I'd read about Noelle in Butterfly Bayou. I saw her struggle and had a soft spot for her. It was great seeing her all grown up and finding love with someone truly worthy of her. She was super smart, which I love in a leading lady and I thought she balanced well with Hutch who was also intelligent but also confident and considerate and just a great guy.

Kyle, the bodyguard, was also a big part of this book and I can't wait to get to focus on him. He has some serious baggage to be resolved. I was truly hooked on this story and didn't want it to end. I look forward to reading many more Lexi Blake books in future.

5 Star Review of Submission Impossible (Masters and Mercenaries: Reloaded #1) by Lexi Blake

Whenever I pick up a book by Lexi Blake I know that I am in for a captivating read and Submission Impossible was no different. I was excited to learn of this new branch of the Masters and Mercenaries series. This is Greg Hutchins and Noelle LaVigne’s story. Greg is used to being behind the scenes handling for McKay Taggart and is not used to being out in the field. Shocked when he is given a field assignment he has no idea that he will finally find the piece that has been missing from his life.
Noelle has had a hard life but she is now on track, focused on her job and not much else. When danger rears it’s head, it is up to Hutch to convince Noelle that she can trust him and the feelings that are developing between them.
Submission Impossible is a fast paced story filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and emotions that had me on the edge of my seat. Lexi Blake had me fully invested from the first chapter to the last and I have no hesitation in recommending this book.

Though he messes up Noelle's first impression of him, Hutch is a good guy, and once he lays eyes on her, he knows he has to not only do his job to figure out who's been trying to steal her research, but take on the sub he senses in her, feisty though she is. With bodyguard Kyle by their sides, Noelle and Hutch will have to figure out not only who's after her and why, but guard their fast developing feelings for each other.

I love that this is a whole new generation of Masters and Mercenaries and that's it's a crossover with the Butterfly Bayou series. Signature electric chemistry, zingy suspense, and a fast-paced story propel Submission Impossible, making it a fabulous romantic suspense with a dynamic couple. And the second best part? It introduces a bunch of this new generation to look forward to that I for one, cannot wait to read.

Welcome back to the Sanctum crew.

I have read the Masters and Mercenaries books and so glad to revisit those characters again. Any time Ian Taggart is involved you know you are in for a ride.
Hutch and Noelle have strong chemistry from the start. Hutch is the IT guy who is a computer genius and Noelle is the science need. Noelle father asks Ian Taggart to investigate Noelle work place following an "accident" killing a college.
Hutch being a Domfeels strong connection to Noelle who is looking into experiencing the D/s relationship with the encouragement of a family member. Hutch wants to be her Dom but before they can even start to sort out that situation Noelle is attack and Hutch springs into protection mode.
Unaware that an old enemy has returned and was involved in the accident that killed a fellow scientist has set their eye on stopping Noelles' company from continuing their research to improve peoples lives.
Looking forward to book 2

Submission Impossible is the first book in Lexi Blake’s new spinoff series, Masters and Mercenaries: Reloaded. This book is computer geek, Hutch (who is hot and sexy), meet brilliant scientist, Noelle. If you loved the Masters and Mercenaries series, you will absolutely love this one too. The sex is hot and the danger is intense! Ms Blake has absolutely cornered the market in D/s romantic suspense. ~Carole

I really enjoyed The Lost Boys, and if this is anything to go by, I'm going to be a fan of Reloaded as well. New faces mixed in with the familiar, characters with substance, intriguing story, a bit of mystery and suspense make this an enjoyable read that leaves me looking forward to the next in the series. ~Shirley

Submission Impossible (Masters & Mercenaries: Reloaded #1) by Lexi Blake
4.5 stars
M/F Romance
Triggers: Murder
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Noelle is fantastic at her job. She has a loving family and while home visiting, she mentions to her cop dad that something might be wrong with the recent accident at work. And, while the person who died wasn’t her best friend, Noelle knows that they were a competent scientist.

Noelle isn’t one to stand on being polite, especially to someone to has judged her so incorrectly, so she puts Hutch in his place.

With espionage, hidden agendas and hot bodyguards, Noelle and Hutch will have to fight for their lives and their love.

Blake doesn’t disappoint with this new series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you get to see the McKay- Taggart gang.

I can’t wait to see more!

I listened to the audiobook. I liked it and the narrator was good, but I wasn't as sold on the back-story as some of the other books by this author. The writing was excellent and there are steamy romance scenes involving bdsm, plus suspense and action. Characters from the original masters and mercenaries series make appearances, as it's apparently around 15 plus years after the first book. So, there are possible mild spoilers re relationships if you haven't finished that series - which I haven't...naturally. 🤣 3.5 stars. 🔥🔥💝

I realize this is the start of a new spin off, but it’s still in the midst of another series. Probably should’ve read the big series in order, since there’s characters and situations I feel like I should know about.

Guess I should start the main series again and keep going, before I continue with this spin off.

This was just ok for me compared to the other Lexi Blake books in this series. I think that being the first book in this next installment didn’t set the future books up. Like the “evil” lurkers were more subdued. I mean Levi F$&$$%%^ Green is a tough act to follow as a diabolical sociopathic genius.

The chemistry also didn’t jump off the page with these MCs for me. I will probably try some of the other titles, but not necessarily go in order unless something happens later to inspire me to read them all.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Noelle needs help, someone to protect her. She has found something a coworker left and now the coworker is dead. Noelle is trying to piece together who killed her coworker without getting herself killed. Her Dad calls a favor in with his buddy at Mckay Taggart. What she wasn't expecting was Hutch.
Greg "Hutch" Hutchins is the computer wiz at McKay Taggart and he is assigned to the case of Noelle and he can't believe it when he meets her. The connection he feels is something that he wasn't expecting. What he learns is that she loves to bake but she is sweeter than he baked treats.
Can Hutch find out who is trying to steal the research Noelle is working on? Can he keep her safe from whoever is after her? What happens when Noelle thinks Hutch is trying to steal her research?
I loved the Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten series and this spin-off of the original Master and Mercenaries, Reloaded is starting off with a bang. It is filled with suspense, a little BDSM, alpha males, and strong heroines. I can't wait for more.

I always enjoy visiting Sanctum! Note to self, these stories are more about the story arc than steamy BDSM. There's definitely some heat and plenty of good banter but it's not a sexfest. :P
