Despite being outdated for 16 years, I still found this book useful due to the information presented. The use of various graphs to easily convey information was well executed. The book was divided into six parts: (1) the environment, (2) society, (3) the state, (4) finance and commerce, (5) technology, and (6) culture. On each part, it branches into different issues that are worthy of knowing. One thing that I do not like is the use of the font in some parts of the book, wherein all texts are in all capital letters and the capital E looks like a reversed number three. The information presented, especially the definitions of some unknown words to me, is what made this book worthy of reading.

This book is mostly pictures, graphics, tables and statistics. I'm a visual learner so it was fun for me to read and look at. There were some pretty eye-opening things in there about all the global issues. I really learned a lot reading this book.

The book was published in 2008. It seemed pretty accurate and up-to-date reading it this year (2012). Yet a lot of stuff in the book could be considered out-of-date in another 6 years or so.
