‘A frightening futuristic world populated with evil and, thankfully, characters prepared to battle that evil. Packed full of thrills and spills, this is a gem!’ The Wishing Shelf

REVIEW
So, here we have Book 3 of the Onoma books, a faith-related novel set in a futuristic and, in many ways, dystopian world. Now, I have read all three of the books and I’m a big fan. Should you read the first two books first? Possibly, yes. It will help. Now, to the plot. I’m happy to report that the evil World Government is not doing so well, and the resistance (hurray!) is strengthening. Within that resistance, we have a small number of important characters who are working hard to spread the word.
From the first page, this is a compelling story of growing faith in the face of ‘living a life based on efficiency/productivity’. It is the sort of story that is packed full of twists and turns but, at the same time, is character-led and always finds time to look deeper than the story, to the importance of God. The author, Alisa Hope Wagner, has plotted a satisfying adventure balancing the ‘faith’ elements of the story with a gripping plot to overthrow the wicked government. She also offers the readers a striking and unforgettable setting which might – just might happen.
Interestingly, I don’t think you need to be a person of faith to read this set of books. I think it helps and, possibly, you might feel a little frustrated by the religious theme. But it’s not too ‘in y’ face’ and, for the most part, adds depth to the story and, of course, to the characters and the way they work together for the greater good.
Superbly written with excellent character development, this will be enjoyed by most, if not all. Alisa Hope Wagner is an author to watch!
