I thoroughly enjoyed part 2 of the Roo Raka Cycle from science fiction author Ray Adams. Following on from the enormously fast pace of the first volume finds the author spending more time with some of the other characters, and this is greatly to the reader's benefit. We enjoy time with the characters even when they're not in one of the set piece action sequences, and the author's writing brings their world to life, so that the reader feels they really are involved in the story. Looking forward to reading part 3!

I missed Roo Raka

Well written, just like book one. The funk that Poonsar sinks into is well portrayed and truly sad, but lingered on a bit longer than I'd like. There were some interesting reveals at the end, and now I'm catapulted into book three...

The cycle #2 "Poonsar"

The fast moving sequel, reminiscent of old sci-fi serialisations of yester year with a modern feel of fantasy with political tensions. I enjoyed this as much as #1 but has the edge.
