I’m sorry I just couldn’t. Like the fact she refers to him as her literal father and he knew her since she was at least 7 like just no. Like it’s quite clear she’s only made 18 in this book so it can be technically legal but like this dude would’ve done this at 16 if he could like.
“I hated the disappointed scowl on his beautiful face. It brought back too many memories of my accidental misbehaviors as a child. But when I was seven I could always wipe that look from his face by giving him a big hug, a sloppy little-girl kiss on the cheek, and saying how sorry I was. I didn’t think that would work now that I was eighteen.”

Casey’s Secret is a story i’ve had for quite some time,but never added to my tbr.
Knowing The Queen’s Knights is coming,i thought it was time to start this series.
And if Casey’s Secrets is an indication of the kind of stories these are,i’m seeing a lot of cold showers in the near future for me…..
Because the story may have been simple,but it was damn hot!
Casey and her stepdad Max have always been close,but now that she’s 18 there’s something more….
And with Max having just signed the divorce papers her mother left for him,his emotions are raw.
So when she broke her curfew,he was more than ready to give her her first bare-ass spanking.
What happened after that,may have been an in-the-heat-of-the-moment thing,but Casey enjoyed every second of it.
Even if Max regretted it afterwards…..because she deserved better,even if she didn’t agree.

I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout and am writing a voluntary review. If you've read the blurb to the book, then you know the gist of the story. But what you don't have are the emotions, and there are many, the chemistry, not with just Max but with his best friend Rick as well, or the BDSM scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to more of the series.

It’s full on spice. I did have an issue with it being the stepfather. The ages are all legal and actions consensual, but it’s just a line that really shouldn’t be crossed.

Eh. Again, taboo with lots of justification. The chemistry between the 18 yo stepdaughter and her stepfather is pretty good. The addition of a third was unexpected, and felt a bit forced. This one felt too lecture-y to me. (There must be something wrong with me, I have felt cranky about most everything I’ve read for the past few months.)

8/10 would recommend to my friends that like just playing smut books. However, to people I know read for the plot, I wouldn't recommend this at all.
So I probably won't ever read this again. I mean, it was good. But it's kind of one of those ones you read it, you're good. For me anyways. I know everybody is different.
I'm a dark romance girl, I'm all about the taboo subjects. So yes, The stepfather and stepdaughter dynamic is one that intrigues me. But, I would have liked there to be a little more conflict and conflict resolution but with the lack of any significant plot, it was literally just smut, then more smut and then even more smut.
There was one section in there that I was like oh my God this could lead to some amazing drama, but then when it boiled down to it, the worst was that they didn't hear from Max for a few hours and then when he showed up they just plowed through it like "oh yeah, I talked to her and I got her to agree to talk to you before she calls the cops" and yada yada yada. It was just anti-climactic. That would have been the great bit of conflict that I was searching for and then the author was just like no let's skim over it so we can get to more smut.
So even though this book isn't really my cup of tea, I'm still giving it a four-star rating because the writing was good and the execution of said smut was good.

Casey's Secrets: A Kinky BDSM menage romance by Ophelia Bell is a romance, in my opinion. Personally, I would classify it in the erotic romance or erotica section, there is a storyline, but it's secondary on the spice. If that is something you are into, this is a must-read!
Max came into Casey's life when she was 7 when he married her mother. After his wife leaves Max, he acts on his attraction to his stepdaughter, who at that time doesn't know her mother and Max aren't together anymore.
Casey is a young woman who has desires that she wants to explore. Max introduced her to BDSM, and when his friend Rick discovers what is happening, he happily wants to join the fun. But will it be only fun and exploring, or will feelings come into play too?
The steamy scenes are well-built, nicely written, and so hot they will ruin your panties. There is MF/MM/MFM, bondage, spanking, anal, daddy kink, degradation, etc.
I enjoyed reading Casey's Secrets, it's a quick, emotional and spicy read that also made my husband very happy.

Kinky is fine
The BDSM parts of this book are good. The thing that gets me is the sheer amount of continuity errors in this book.
Look, I get that it's smut. However, if you're going to have any kind of plot, you need to make sure the plot stays consistent. You can't have the characters saying mom won't be home for eight more days in chapter 4, then later have then expect her home the next day. Not that she came home early, that would have made sense, but suddenly they're upset they only have one day together because she will be home tomorrow.
As a side note, I don't personally like step family tropes where the parent helped raise the child, and then they started having a sexual relationship. That just feels gross, but my personal opinion on that has nothing to do with the 1 star rating.
Finally, if you want light BDSM smut and don't care about plot points or the parent having raised the child thing, then this book is for you. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

Casey is a young woman that just turned eighteen a couple months back. Casey has rules to follow even though she still lives at home with her mother Tanya and stepfather Max. Max taught Casey how to ride a bike to following the rules of the house. Casey has tried for the last ten years not to disappoint her step father Max. Casey's mother leaves one week out of the month for her job. Casey lots track of time when she notice the clock in her friends car, she was late. Casey was hoping to sneak up to her room with out being notice by Max. No such luck there because Max is sitting on her bed. Then he told her drop your pants and bend over his knees. Quick easy read that has a lot of spice and a lot of rope.
Casey comes home a few minutes late to see her hot step daddy ready to punish her. And his firm of punishment is one that he's never given her before. Neither of them want to stop, and it only becomes more interesting when step daddy's bestie shows up the next day and finds Casey in a compromising situation.
Not everything is solved with sex, which is kind of nice to see. They have some actual sit down conversations, even if those are comprised of her watching them have sex with another woman. (Come ON Rick.) But 97% of the book is sex.
And that's ok. I need one of these every now and then.
I bought the bundle and while this took about 2 hours to read, I think I'll space them out for when I need a quick palate cleanser in between my dark romances. 4 stars because it delivers what it promises-a well written smut fest.

Casey has looked up to Max ever since he married her mom. Now at 18 Casey has realized that her idolization of her stepfather might be more. Max is very strict with the house rules and coming home past curfew is a big no no, so when Casey is a few minutes late, Max decides its time for a punishment. After the "punishment" Casey's eyes have been opened to a new world and kink she didn't know she was looking for, and a life with Max she didn't know she could have. When Casey asks for Max to teach her the lifestyle he refuses, so she asks his best friend Rick who is more than willing to be teacher.
Casey's eyes are now open to a new life she so desperately wants and it just so happens she wants it with her Daddy and his best friend.
Good quick read. Wish we had a epilogue, would have liked to see Casey's conversation with her mom and see what their life was like after the fact.

This book 1 in the Rebel Lust Taboo Book Series, a taboo, BDSM, Menage book is a smoking hot very well-written story with interesting, taboo step family, and this family becomes better after they sort out their relationship. This book has wonderful, interesting, growing Characters that have an intense connection, chemistry and are exploring a new relationship. This story has action, twists, turns, intensity, and love. This is a must read for those who love this genre. This Author is very good at showing different personalities and how they all interconnect. Read the next two books to find out how the series is continued.

February 19, 2025DNF @ 36%, 5 spice. I didn't like this book, so I didn't finish. I'm normally not against stepdaughter and stepfather relationships. It doesn't usually bother me, same with step siblings. However, in this case, it did. He had been with her mother since she was 5, marrying her mother when she was 6. He raised her, and I was not aware of this when I bought the book. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered with it. The only reason he gets together with Casey is because the mom gave him divorce papers. This was pure smut, no plot, no character development, nothing. I have nothing against kinky smut, but I want there to be at least an attempt at a plot or something about the characters that makes them likable. This was just a no for me.

This is a quick book, but that may be a good thing to much more and I may not servive. Lots of Heat in this one.

Casey is new to adulthood, she just graduated from high school and is starting to stretch her wings. Coming home late gets her stepdad, Max all worked up, and not in a bad way. Now he and his best friend Rick are helping her explore her desires.

This book has just the right amount of drama and emotion to keep you hooked.

This is book one in the Rebel Lust Taboos series. Casey lives with her mother and stepfather Max, Casey’s mother goes away for a week leaving Max in charge of Casey after she returns home late one night she tries to sneak into the house only to find Max waiting for her on her bed ready to dole out her punishment by giving her a spanking (which leads to much more!) Casey’s mother and Max decide to separate will this open the door for Casey and her stepfather to have more and what about Rick Max’s friend maybe he’ll want to play too!. A good short taboo read.

Caseys book is not my favorite in this series. I liked the taboo-ness of it being her step father and having literally raised her so if that’s not your thing then don’t read it. It was surprisingly good dom etiquette once Rick got involved and if you like rope bondage and pain play in the form of spanking and whips then this book is pretty hot. I’m not big into pain play though and this book had practically no plot so that’s why this one gets my 2 stars as opposed to my usual 3 stars for a smutty book. Also the dirty talk definitely could have been better, the scenes were hot af but if you’re making it be taboo stepfather relationship then lean into it more.

My mouth was wide open from start to finish with this..I really don't know how to feel about this one...It kind of gave off grooming vibes IDK.. It was weird that he helped raise her and the moment she turns 18 you have sex with her and then both you and your best friend have sex with with her.. The stepdad and his best friend were weird and Casey was like a deer in headlights. And knowing that he only went after Casey in the first place because the mom cheated and wanted a divorce was not a good reason for me

Listened to this book on tempt, I enjoyed this book it’s extensively hot to listen to. But have on a pair of head phones, and not out load in the car, lol.
Not blood father, but helped to bring Casey up from a child. This may not be everyone cup of tea, but I remember it’s fantasy’s.

I know that this is a series about taboo scenarios… but this was a no-go for me. If you forget the relationship between the main characters… sure! It’s just hot spicy bdsm scenes that fill the book. But when you consider the fact that he has been her literal father figure since she was 7 and she reminisces on being a kid with him and calls him daddy… it is cringy. I’m all for taboo when done correctly… but this didn’t feel like it was done well enough to overcome that cringe. 2.5 stars is being generous, 4/5 for spice level just because of the bdsm and DVP scene.

Casey was awful. Whiney, pick me, virgin. But obviously you don't read this book for Casey. You read it for two hot, ex-military men willing to do some very depraved things for pleasure.
