Neil and Kaitlyn’s meet-cute is straight out of a romance novel, except for the lack of hot sex. He wants to wait until their wedding night and make it special, but she’s not so sure. Neil’s gesture would be romantic if the love of her life, Luke, hadn’t abandoned her ten years earlier, leaving a string of ghastly relationships in his wake. The night before Kaitlyn’s rehearsal dinner, her twin brother fills her head with images of erectile dysfunction and deformed penises, sending her to seduce Neil before it’s too late. However, when Kaitlyn sneaks into his hotel room ready to uncover their chemistry, she discovers something unexpected.Wrong Guy, Right Room is a stand-alone contemporary romance where the wrong guy might just be the right man. A steamy romance for fans of Christina Lauren’s Unhoneymooners.
These two ladies wrote a rom com that made me laugh. It has been a while since I read one this good and hope there are more to come! Noah and Adam are my favorite characters but the backstory of all the characters is so well rounded that I was involved and swept away in the story from start to finish! Definitely a recommended read.
Funny, Relatable, Sexy. Everyone needs a Noah and Adam in their lives! Love the contemporary details and the whole cast of characters. So fun being stuck in that hotel with them, especially since so many of us can now relate! I laughed, I cheered, I fell a little in love with Monsieur Emile, and enjoyed the heck out of this book.
Kaitlyn is preparing to marry Neil who is the perfect man in every way, or maybe he's not. At least that is what her brother Noah suggests, setting her on a mission to seduce her soon to be husband. Sneaking into his hotel is easy but getting out turns out to be far more difficult.
This is a new to me author and what a fun way to meet. Katie is the proverbial good girl and trusts others to be the same with her. Luke broke her heart 10 years ago or did she break his? Katie's brother Noah and his boyfriend Adam along with Luke's sister Mia rounded out this hilarious cast. Noah and Adam kept me laughing even at times I probably wasn't supposed to laugh. The whole story is a comedy of errors that will keep you reading. Looking forward to more by this author.
Wrong Guy, Right Room was a fun and quick read with great characters. A rom-com that delivers, I felt connected with the characters, flaws and all, and the authors did a good job of pulling me into the lives of the characters from the start, especially through the use of effective and natural sounding dialogue. And, one of the sub-plots of the story (no spoiler) was very relevant to current events, and this event caused the two main characters to go through an unexpected life change that seemed to have been written in the stars. Recommend this short novel if you’re looking for a light-hearted, warm, fun, rom-com read (maybe while you enjoy a glass of wine). This would also make a great movie.
Cover Update: So, Amazon thought our cover was too steamy. I guess feet are sexier than we thought. ;) So, we changed the cover to the eBook. We love it. What do you think? *************** We never expected Wrong Guy, Right Room would be published in the midst of an actual lockdown. When we started writing this rom-com, we imagined a lockdown scenario where two former lovers are forced into a second chance at romance. If only 2020 gave everyone an opportunity to reconnect with their soul mates.
Wrong Guy, Right Room is a romantic comedy where the wrong guy might just be the right man.
This is the second book I've read by the lovely Michelle Angelle, and I cannot speak highly enough about the author herself.
It should be stated outright that this book is a MILD rom-com. The spice is present, but in my opinion, it's like a three chili pepper. Far from a five. If you're looking for hot and heavy, this book isn't it. BUT if you're looking for some laughs and some sweet, sweet moments, this is it.
The plot is immaculately done. I've honestly never read a romance where the two main characters are stuck in the same room for this long, and I thought I'd get tired of it. Yet, I didn't. It helped that you've got a sort of enemies-to-lovers (mild) going on in that the miscommunications runs rampant. There's times when you want to smack them both upside the head or scream at them--or both, to be fair.
The characters are also top-tier. Neil is a truly disgusting villain. I was literally cringing from the way he was acting at times. But then, to counter him, you've got the sweet Luke. Although I wanted to wack him for not telling Katie about Neil, I applaud him for respecting her decisions and giving her space when she wanted it. And then KATIE. Phew. I won't spoil much, but I was in TEARS for this girl.
Overall, a fun, quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed! Well done, Michelle Angelle.
I was given a free copy of this book by the authors because they are sweeties spreading their stories to the masses. I did not agree to read or or review it... but it was probably assumed.
This book is an romantic comedy in all it's glory. Dumb situations and characters who have the worst ability to communicate and self reflect that you have ever seen. Here, we've got a couple of exes who were in love 10 years ago but haven't spoken sense holed up in a hotel that is on lock down due to an unknown virus. The side characters are the best (siblings, in this case, of both exes) and there's a fiancé who doesn't know what's going on and is a douche- canoe.
I laughed, I groaned, I yelled at the stupid people. It was a great time. There were times when characters had conversations as if earlier knowledge was not known. That annoys me and is the reason why the books gets the rounding down from a 3.5 star rating. The author is actually two people, so discrepancies might be especially likely to happen (editors beware!), but it was distracting enough in three places for me to grimace.
All the best to Michelle Angelle on your way to becoming the next Christina Lauren!
This was a fun read with characters you will love and loath, awkward situations to keep you a little unhinged, and lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing and engaged. Looking forward to more from Michelle Angelle!
Wrong Guy, Right Room is an enjoyable fast read RomCom. All of the characters in this book are extremely lovable (except Neil, but no one really likes Neil). Katie and Luke, former college sweethearts, seem like they should have always been together but you wonder what pulled them apart. Their backstory unfolds at just the right pace. Katie’s brother and his partner are laugh-out-loud funny and even better when they drag Luke’s sister Mia into their high jinx. Luke and Katie’s unexpectedly quarantine will pull you out of the doldrums of your own.
Such fun! I love a romance with relatable, realistic characters. I can actually imagine these characters together. The supporting characters made me laugh too-- maybe Michelle Angelle will write a book about how Noah and Adam met ;) The book is funny and sexy; it's a quick read with a happy ending that leaves you satisfied and wanting a bit more!
I absolutely enjoyed this funny romance. It provided enough details to keep me wondering what comes next. The characters are well described that I felt I knew them. A delightful romance with dramatic twists and full of fun! The dialogue is perfect!
You will enjoy this book! It has lots of drama and humor--hard to put down. It reminds us how easily communications get confused and cause problems. It's a real page-turner. I kept cheering for Kaitlyn and Luke right up to the end.
It was like reading The Notebook only if it was a 90s romantic comedy. There was a lot of fun, laughter with a touch of angst in there. I enjoyed the read. The stand out characters to me were Adam and Noah though. I have to say I think I would have preferred to read their story more. I want to know about them getting together and how they have become such a solid couple. Katie and Luke just couldn't compete with them in my eyes. However, I was interested to see what happened to them in the past to make them so uncomfortable with each other now. The read was fast paced and cute. Neil was so evil, like Voldemort...seriously! I kind of thought his character was a bit far fetched. I couldn't really get what his motivation was at all. There were times that he was just totally delusional. I did appreciate that Katie never turned a blind eye to hard evidence. I guess the authors did ensure that there was no warring feelings on who Katie should end up with. Overall, I liked it and I think many others would enjoy it too.
This book made me laugh out loud and scream in frustration in equal measure (in a good way!). I have to admit I have a little bit of a love/hate relationship with Romcoms! I do love a story with characters that captivate me totally, even if I did want to tell them (especially Katie and Luke) to get a grip a few times. It has classic miscommunication and situational comedy, and it's done so well. I love the bad guy Neil too, he's so sly, it's great. This book will get you out of any slump or bad mood and will make you want to read more. Looking forward to the next one! *I read this as part of a book club

Totally looking forward to a zany rom-com featuring Katie and her old flame Luke in their forced proximity situation, and that’s what you get .... until the last third of the book.

This book had me in stitches. Its so well written with a great plot and I loved every minute of it. The two MC's are very relatable with just the right amount of 'I want to butt ypur heads together' to make things interesting.
If you love romantic comedy then this is the perfect book for you. Just pick it up and read. *read as part of a book club.
Loved this story, it was interesting and funny but also a bit of a roller coaster. Noah and Adam were hilarious loved them. If you want a easy read with some quirkiness then this book is perfect. Read as part of a book club
Funny, sassy, it would make a great movie. This book is modern, funny, and well-written. The dialogues are full of savor and the turn of events made me want to screen at the MCs :)) I read other books by these authors and this one didn't disappoint. Great light-hearted read.
Truly enjoyed this romantic comedy. It made me smile and got me caring about and engrossed in the characters, except for Neil, of course! Super fast read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The story revolves around Katie who's engaged to Neil, set to marry the doctor in two days for an extravagant wedding. Talking to her brother and his boyfriend, Katie is convinced to sneak over to Neil's hotel room and surprise him because they have never had sex. Unbeknownst to her, Katie's ex boyfriend is in the room, trying to sleep while Neil is out partying with his nurses. Tension erupts between Katie and Luke, but to make things worse, the CDC quarantines the hotel due to an unknown illness, trapping the old lovers. Their history is one full of heartbreak and miscommunication, but neither of them can't deny their feelings for each other. There's plenty of drama, enough to make you want to smack certain characters, A few twists that you won't see coming, and fun banter that will have you completely engrossed in the story. I highly recommend this one!
Best book for these troubled times! Such a fun read. It took my mind (and anger and anxiety) off of the current events of 2020. This was the escape I need but can’t take physically right now. Can’t wait to read more from these authors.
Let me first say that this book definitely had me hooked from the get go. Oh Katie🙂 she is sooo in love with Neil...or she is in love with the thought of being in love with Neil. Luke is her man! And in due time she allows her heart to open up just enough to figure that out. No spoilers here as this is a MUST READ for yourself. I truly fell in love with the characters and the story flowed quite nicely. Well done !
I finished reading Wrong Guy, Right Room three evenings ago. I’m still vacillating on my rating while I write this review, even though I was drawn into the story by four characters’ points of view.
Kaitlyn, “Don’t call me Katie,” finds herself in lockdown in a hotel room with her college ex, Luke, two days before her wedding. “Thank goodness,” I said aloud. At least Katie won’t end up marrying her despicable fiancé as long as she’s still in love with Luke and vice versa. If so, they’ll live their happily ever after together. But wait … if Katie and Luke were “real” people and my friends, I would definitely suggest couples therapy ASAP to learn basic communication skills.
I loved Luke and Katie’s drag queen brother, Noah, and his partner, and Luke’s feisty sister, Mia. Katie’s character was too naïve for my taste, but she was sweet, loyal, and kindhearted.
In enjoyed the storyline, the unique setting, and loved to hate Katie’s fiancé. I read this book as part of a book club and recommend it if you’re up for a somewhat stressful roller-coaster ride, especially near the end of this romantic comedy.
Raise a glass to Michelle Angelle for creating a fun romp of a rom-com. It is a page-turner. This timely tale of a zany quarantine features characters that I care about. A lot. Sequel Please.
“Wrong Guy, Right Bed.” By Michelle Angelle - Rom Com
I read this as part of a book club.
Absolutely sheer joy. So Funny with a wonderful, Love searing through it.
So easy to read I couldn’t put it down. These girls really know how to deliver a lot of fun. Peppered with some great quotes. Interspersed in the book! They are absolute classics and really enhance the characters. As it’s one of my feelgood genre the book really lifted my mood. Wonderful story line , about a man whose ego has grown so large he thinks money and bartering with people can get him anything. Even with his bride. He really brought the worst out in me while I was reading this. (Some clenching of fists did occur) He has an answer for everything he does wrong. Loved the ending. It’s one of those stories you could follow a little further and see how the rest of their life turns out. Well Done.
A five-Plus- star review for creativity a wonderful enjoyable story. Absolutely nailed it to the wall. Well, Done. Veronica Shaw Author. November. 2021 book review 0023b
Michelle Angelle’s romantic comedy romp about a couple trapped in a hotel room during a lockdown is pure pleasure. A roller coaster ride between Katie and Luke trapped in a hotel room during a lockdown. Every high for the couple falls into a disaster, followed by another high. Each character is unique and will become one of your favorites. Well, except one. You’ll need to find which one on your own. A perfect read for a snowy afternoon or a day at the beach. I read this as a book club read.
With the outside temperature in the teens, this was just the book I needed to chase away the cold. The love triangle of Katie and Luke and Neil kept me engaged and laughing throughout. I can't wait for the movie version.
In their first book, Wrong Guy, Right Room, the new duo Michelle Angelle takes a class-style rom-com tale and give it a twist; actually a lot of twists and turns that keep the characters, and the reader, in a state of spirited suspense. A mix of disconcerted, flashy, lovable (and not so lovable) characters crisscross, circle, double back, and collide (though there is that welcomed interlude as two meet to share the sheets). It’s a smart and sassy story indeed — and also very funny. I look forward to future escapades from Michelle Angelle Books; maybe with a few of the lovable characters that I came to know.
