This book consists of three novellas. It gave great insight into Everleigh’s mindset after enduring the darkest and most heartbreaking situations. She’s tipped over to the dark side. Do we blame her though?
Disclosure: full of triggers and same themes as the other books in this series.
3.5 stars. Interesting way to tell the story and get a bigger picture of Whitwick by shifting povs and told in novellas following didfrent character. Dark and disturbing. The first story and what happened to her impacted me the most. Felt nauseated thinking about it.
OMG! I need the next book in the series!! Now!!! Start at the beginning and read through or you'll be confused as heck. But if you do start out right you will not be able to put it down. I think I already feel withdrawal tremors coming on...
Shewwww another hit in the Whitlock series for sure. Every time I finish one I’m equal parts “dude that was good” and “wtf did I just read?” 😅🙃 Cannot stress looking up CW/TW enough because lawrt these be dark, but I’m honestly obsessed with this series.
This book was a compilation of three novellas. I loved how we learned a little more on the inter-workings of Whitlock and how victims are scouted/chosen in this one. However, I feel like it also made this book darker than the first two, in a way. Reading on-page about the “before” made everything that followed even more heartbreaking. 💔
Everleigh is honestly THAT bitch and she cannot be tamed. Love that for her. Is it bad I’m secretly rooting for her and Bram? 👀 Also the cliffys in these books kill me. 😵💫💀
Well, this screams: “You thought it was bad? Let’s make it worse.” 😬🕳️ Pitch black doesn’t even begin to cover it. These notes and snapshots of Whitlock’s world are brutal, sick, and yet… somehow I keep coming back for more. 😵💫🖤 Messed up? 100%. Entertaining? Also 100%. Send help. 🚩
4.5⭐️ This book is insane! The dark parts will leave a scar on me, but the twists and turns couldn’t let me go - I finished it in one day (well, listened to the audiobook).
I’m shook. Can’t stop now. Starting the next one immediately!
This book is so descriptive and gory on how sex slaves are taken, made, abused, raped, and killed off. It’s so scary but also sad because it’s all happening right now in real life. It almost felt as if the author herself has been a slave and put her experiences on paper. Gives me the chills. I’m also very conflicted and confused. One minute Bram is falling in love with Everleigh and wanting to save the slaves, the next he’s fighting for his position back as main master/ruler of this underground fortress housing sex slaves, and now determined to take back everleigh. Meanwhile she’s been putting in the work to figure out who the corrupt ones are and how to overthrow them. Now Layla and Amir’s story is absolutely crazy! Twins that are taken to be sex slaves but also wanted by Everleigh to be her slaves. He did what to her… absolutely not. I would DIE first.
Utter garbage. I'm not sure wtf this author was thinking. If you plan to read Black Out, you won't know who these people are if you haven't read this one.
SPOILERS BELOW.
Everleigh has escaped Whitlock and somehow become this genius mastermind. Every man in the world follows her and is loyal to her, including most of the guards at Whitlock. Her main bodyguard is some guy named Luke.
Bram is still trying to track her down and he keeps sending scouts to find her. She always figures it out and ends up killing them and sending their faces back to Bram. She ass rapes one of the scouts until it rips him apart. Fun times.
She's decided that she wants this set of twins and has them kidnapped because she wants them sent to Whitlock for some reason. She's got these plans. We don't know why she wants them or why she's doing it. The twin sister ends up getting raped a lot. The Master makes the brother rape his sister. They end up getting separated and the sister stays behind on this rape island with the rapist and the brother ends up at Whitlock.
Side hustle are these scouts kidnapping people and bringing them back to Whitlock. It's stupid as fuck and nobody asked for it.
Bram's stupid ass cousin, Alvin, is only three. Everleigh sneaks back INTO Whitlock where she visits with Alvin (stupid ass name. is he a chipmunk?). After this one little visit, Alvin is now constantly crying for her. "Alvin wants Everleigh!" - because sure - why not. He also speaks in third-person which is weird as fuck.
The male twin is given a # - 27011 - but they call him Eleven. WHY?!?! You already had a character you called Eleven and he died. Why the fuck would an author be stupid enough to create a new character with the exact same name as an existing character?!?!
Everleigh - that stupid ass twat - goes to an enemy's location to have a dinner with him. She knows she can't trust anyone. Yet she accepts a drink and food from him. OF COURSE IT'S DRUGGED!!! You expect me to believe she's so smart that she outwits all these men and guards, but she's stupid enough to drink the wine from an evil Master?!?! COME ON!!!!
This entire book is utter nonsense. I hated every single bit of it. If I had a knife - I'd stab this book. That's how much I hated it.
These three shorts are a must read before the third book in the 24690 series. I never usually read shorts but this time I’m so glad I did. I don’t think blackout would be understandable without these.
Welcome to Whitlock is a interconnected stand-alone from the “Pitch Black” branded “24790 Series” authored by Alaska Angelini’s more sinister pen name A.A. Dark. Although it can be read separately, it truly is best to read both 24690 (Book #1) and White Out (Book #2), before this one. Welcome to Whitlock itself can be read in three parts, and is additionally sold as such: 27001 ( 24790 Series Book# 2.1), 27009 ( 24790 Series Book #2.2) and 27011 ( 24790 Series Book #2.3).
It is your choice as to whether to read Welcome to Whitlock, or the 3 longer novellas individually, they contain the exact same content. I chose to read the entire Welcome to Whitlock book as a whole, which is broken into 3 sections: 27001, 27009, & 27011. These 3 sections consist of the 3 novella’s, in which the main characters of the other books in this series take a little more of a back seat, until Part 3.
Throughout this book, more insight is given into some of the secondary characters that play important roles at Whitlock. However, this book does pick up where White Out leaves off, and the multi layered plot continues. The search for Everleigh, aka Mistress Harper, aka Slave 24790, is ongoing but isn’t in the forefront of the first 2 sections of this book. We are introduced to 3 distinct Scouts for Whitlock, their history there, and we see how or if, each accomplishes their given assignment.
At the end, we are left right where we need to be to begin Black Out which is finally out in just a couple of days!
**Any of the 24790 series books are fantastic in their own right, but you are missing one helluva dark, twisted, depraved tale should you choose to cherry pick, and not read the entire series, from start to finish, in the intended order.**
Order to be read:
OR
Part 1: 27001
Scout 14 is the Anti-hero of this story. He is a scout for Whitlock that specializes in non virgins, that are still unique, special, and hard to find targets. In his crosshairs is Charlee. Charlee is a has-been model with her own problems that are about the get much worse.
“14” uses really wicked drugs on her, some serious spray tan and expensive removable tattoos, and delivers wild mindfucks on Charleee. He plays both the part of “John” and “James” making the poor girl feel like she is loosing her mind. Coupled with the fact that she is finally trying to stop drinking and partying, Charlee doesn’t know what is real and what is not.
There is point at which this scout seems to really like Charlee.
“Maybe I wanted Charlee to be different so she didn’t blur together with all the others.”
Can “14” keep the beautiful woman from her doomed fate? A twisted story, a mindfu*k of the best kind. Enter at your own risk.
Part 2: 27009
Part 2 features two twins, Laila and her brother Aamir who have traveled to Athens Greece on vacation. Their father sends them to a nice resort, with strict instructions for Aamir to watch over his sister and for them to stick together. Although this was to be a trip for the twins to spend time some quality time with each other, Aamirs girlfriend decides own her fate when she invites herself along, boarding the plane at the last minute.
Scouts for Whitlock have been sent all over the world looking for the one person who has ever escaped the fortress that is Whitlock, Everleigh. One of those is “5”.
We are introduced to Scout 5 as he is known. He is different from the other scouts, in that he has an outside public life, not in the shadows, but hidden in plain sight. He is an internet celebrity as a cover but a twisted, killing scout in truth.
“5” is sent to a resort in Greece to look for the escapee , but soon Layla goes out on her own and he spots her. After learning more about her, she and Aamir are definitely on his radar as potential slaves for Whitlock. Twins alone that can be taken without notice and enslaved are often hard to come by, but catch a hearty price at Auction for the sick Masters that like incest, etc. Especially a boy and a girl, all the better. Aamir’s girlfriend is just a bonus.
What will happen to the scout when he comes in contact with the formidable Mistress that escaped? He has a public facade to maintain. Will his cover be blown before he can abduct his new ‘chosens’, or worse could he be the next to die as others looking for the Mistress have? What will happen to the twins, will they be saved in time from their doomed fate?
Part 3: 27011
The male twin in the section prior Aamir is now removed from his beloved sister and enslaved at Whitlock. He is branded with his new name, Slave 27011, or “11” as he is known.
This is the where the larger plot of this entire series gears up again in the forefront of this layered saga. Parallel to that, we also meet Scout 19.
His forefathers were embedded in the foundation of Whitlock, “19” has spent many years working his way through the ranks to become the youngest Scout that Whitlock has ever had, in his early 20’s. The Whitlock way runs threw his blood, is basically all he knows, and he is very loyal to Main Master Bram.
However, this same loyalty isn’t shared within all at Whitlock. There is widespread corruption even within the Board Members, and all the way down throughout the ranks of those that serve.
Scout 19 has a secret mission, unlike any before. He must be branded as a slave and befriend and protect Aamir. It will not be an easy task, as he can not let on that he is anything but a slave fighting to live another day in the White Room throughout the murderous Red Lights. Not only does he have to keep Aamir alive and safe, but he himself must be tremendously careful to not be recognized. It is imperative to the larger picture that he lives long enough in such a violent environment to complete this important, undercover mission.
I’m very glad I decided to wait longer than I really wished to read this. It sets the tone for the long anticipated follow up, Black Out. To say that I am exuberant to reenter the world of Whitlock again is a gigantic understatement.
For DARK Lovers, this is a series not to be missed! Absolutely one of my all time favorite Erotic Horror series’, EVER.
This series has me in a CHOKEHOLD and I’m DETERMINED to close it OUT for 2024
I’m glad I did the omnibus version of the 2.1-2.3 books. Curious how 2.1 will tie into Black Out as 2.2 and 2.3 I can sense will play a much bigger role and impact based on its contents and the cliffhanger 2.3 left off on
2.2 and 2.3 is definitely the heaviest in terms of content IMO
Not a horrible book to finish out the year. This has been my least favorite of the series so far but it was still very good. I’m anxious to see what the last book of the series brings.☺️
Whitlock!!! It just gets deeper and darker! It’s a mindf*ck!! I’m here for ALL OF IT!
This one kept me on the edge of the seat. I was eating up all the depraved details about the scouts, slaves and how the fortress runs as a whole!
With all the conspiracies going, I can’t wait to dive into Blackout and visit the Garden of the Gods!! Highly recommend this series!! Read responsibly!
WOW! This series gets better and better! A.A.Dark does it again with Welcome to Whitlock. The twists and turns with scouts, slaves and guards keeps this story rising into a chaotic and dangerous plot. Throw in some bizarre masters and the saga of Bram and Everleigh and it becomes mind blowing!
Welcome to Whitlock is not your typical cozy mystery. While it shares some elements of the genre – a charming, seemingly idyllic small town setting concealing dark secrets, that is where the similarities end.
The strength of the book lies in its unsettling atmosphere. Whitlock itself is a character, in my opinion the main character. The sense of dread offered in this book leaves the reader never quite comfortable and always aware that something sinister is simmering beneath the seemingly ordinary events.
I enjoyed the 3 novellas that made Welcome to Whitlock, it was enjoyable learning about more of the workings of Whitlock. Each novella added to the Whitlock character.
Another trip to Whitlock, but we get to see how the chosen are taken and brought to their final home. And also how far this "industry" actually reaches. I found myself wanting to help Everleigh in her quest to make things easier on others while actively wanting to have her unalived lol This book was full of twists and turns, and of course all the darkest things you come to expect from A. A. Dark. The world of Whitlock is insane and terrifying and absolutely brimming with depravity and.....interesting characters.
Martial law!? Really? On to Blackout to see how this is gonna play out!

3.75 ⭐️ I’m gonna be completely honest I didn’t like this one. It wasn’t what I was excepting like when I thought we were gonna learn about past slaves and their stories and I could have lived without knowing how they got them. It was INTENSE and I found myself like disinterested at times. The only thing that kept me going is EverLeigh and Bram tbh. That ending though is crazy. Bram arrested say what?! That last one had SO much going on. EverLeigh gone crazy just like I knew she would, but I find it so funny she still is everywhere and a step ahead the whole time. She’s literally the female Bram no wonder they love each other. All in all, I’m intrigued to see where Black out takes us.

This is the 3rd book in the Whitlock series by A. A Dark, it is like a collection of 3 short stories and it gives a deeper insight to the going’s on in Whitlock. You need to read the other books first so you know the characters and understand the plot.
I really felt this book was darker than the previous one and I LOVED that about it. These stories were so full on and I couldn’t stop reading them. I am so invested in Everleigh and what is going to happen next. Also Bram??? What’s going to happen?
I’m so excited to read the last one soon and will definitely check out other nooks by this author.
I have never been more surprised by how a story unfolds. Every time a segment ends I’m shouting, “whaaat?!?” It’s incredible writing and I’m sad I’m almost through the series. What a rollercoaster!!
Going into reading this book I have to say I really was not that enticed to complete this book. I will say this has not been my favorite in this series. I did like the fact that we got a little more background on the process of how Whitlock gains its population. It was nice to see a different perspective outside of this fortress. However, it did feel awfully repetitive after a while. With that being said I do think it was still an enjoyable book to some extent. I cannot wait to see how the last book unfolds.
This book was not horrible it was just endless dragging over the same constant issues. We all know the Bram and Eve love and the obsession it’s just nothing is changing and it’s cat and mouse that never ends.
The addition of so many people being involved is confusing as well and I truly HATE what Aamir did to his sister. Straight foul.
In the next book, I’m hoping there is at least some satisfaction.

Whew! This book was harder for me to get through than the first two. I think it was because of the multiple POVs. We met so many characters in this one book that it was frustrating when all I wanted was Everleigh and Bram. About 70% through, I was back on board full force! Holy. Crap! Everleigh told Bram! She told him! I love that this author just keeps reinforcing the idea that men are easily manipulated and stupid LOL
This series is so good! It’s dark so check trigger warnings but the plot
All of the Povs was such a nice touch to it. Makes the story more intriguing when you get to read from the masters, scouts and slaves POV. Every book so far has been 5 stars for me!
I'm too obsessed with this series. And omfg, my girl has become ungovernable. I love her. These cliffhangers will be the death of me. Everything is looking up then it just... isn't. I need to dive into the last book and ignore all of my other responsibilities.
