I liked the historical story within this book. The journal entry/letters were what drew me in. The flipping of POV mid-chapter, mid paragraph, was a little frustrating but I was interested enough to keep reading past that. A nice story about what Hobart and Tasmania was like back in the early days and in the 70s.
This is a story of Sara, dragged from her familiar life in England, by her husband, to Tasmania in the 1960's. Sara discovers she has links to Tasmania. While staying with a distant relative she is gifted a journal belonging to Sarah (an innocent) convict shipped out to Tasmania in the 1800's. The story follows the path of both women as they come to terms and settle in their new Tasmanian life. I must say I did prefer Sarah's story. Though to some her story my sound far fetched it is truly believable for life in Tasmania at that time. Similarly with the life of Sara and her husband in the wilderness of Tasmania.
