Tasuku Sakura is handsome and has always worked hard to be the best at everything he sports, schoolwork, and now at his office job. The only issue is that no one knows he's an Omega.
In a world where Alphas are admired and Omegas are judged harshly, Tasuku just wants to live as an Alpha like his perfect coworker, Narushige. But things get a little complicated when Tasuku wakes up one day in bed... mated with Narushige?!
This book contains explicit content and mature themes, including dubious consent. It is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age.
this was a really fun little oneshot! its a trope I really like aka "the mc is an omega but pretends to be an alpha". the art is really pretty, it was fun, it was funny, but also serious (but not TOO serious). a good one shot to check out if you like modern omegaverse stuff!
I didn't expect to like this, and lo! I did. It goes out of its way to dilute the non-con problems with omegaverse stories in general, and I really appreciated that, along with the way the pushier partner was willing to wait until the other was ready for him emotionally.
This was sweet and I really enjoyed the fact that Sakura fell in love despite the pain from his past. I just wish we could have see more from his time with amnesia. But still the way they are both so devoted to each other makes this a lovely story.
i really loved this story !!! the love interest was so sweet and thoughtful to the main character. he always protected him and took care of him.
i liked how the main character was written as a strong omega and the love interest was written as a gentle alpha.
a lot of omegaverse stories i’ve read have focused on mostly smut, but this story focuses a lot more on their relationship with a bit of spice and i liked that !!
i usually don’t read office romances but i’m so glad i gave this book a chance, it was so good!
Our cutie omega lost his memories of his alpha. Now imagine waking up without remembering his partner why doing the deed >//< Our poor alpha has to work hard to make his omega fall in love with him all over again. But Sakura (omega) won’t cut him any slack. In short, it’s an alpha slowly coaxing our baby to fall in love with him, cause that’s his mate. And he’s madly in love with him.
Omega who wasn’t a push-over for a change. Sakura took a bit too long to make up his mind, but he had his issues to get over. Narushige was a great alpha. Illustrations were good, but the charcters looked too much alike at times. This seems to be a stand-alone story (?), which is fine, but I wouldn’t mind reading more.
Starting this book feels like being dropped in the middle of a long series with absolutely no context. As a standalone this fails as a story because there was no point. There’s no character development or reason for me to know anything about these characters and their relationship. The plot was hard to follow as well. This could have been really cute but it turned out to be such a dud.
This was a reluctant read because of the somewhat misleading title, but it was ultimately heartwarming and enjoyable. Although it did leave me with a few questions at the end.
So I’m in an omegaverse phase and I am enjoying it. The kids are always so cute and adorable but this one-shot sadly has no kids. Instead we follow office worker and Omega, Sakura who wakes up near Alpha Narushige after having forgotten his memory of the last few weeks. Sakura hates Alphas because of their generally oppressive and entitled behavior towards Omegas like himself, so he cannot believe Narushige’s claims when told they were living happily. However, as time passes Sakura finds himself drawn to Narushige’s care.
This manga probably has the most simplest and relatable title, while also being equally vague. I agree Sakura’s situation is complicated because he’s lost a specific time in his memory where he’s doing the exact opposite of what he’s practiced his entire life. His refusal and demeanor were realistic including the struggles he had in the office. The “second love” is basically Sakura falling in love with Narushige again. Looking back, I think I liked the second time better given we only got snippets of the first time, but I would have loved to read their first romance too.
Narushige is a good character, not perfect but better than most in omegaverse. I liked how he waited for Sakura to sort out his emotions and grow to love him again. He didn’t force himself and kept a respectable distance while also taking care of Sakura. The little part of him getting jealous was cute and I liked how he was scared of Sakura.
The artwork is sharp with simple background and expressive emotions. I think the simplicity in the artwork allows for a greater focus on the words and emotions. They didn’t particularly evoke any emotions from me but I was happy with the ending and the respectful growth in their relationship. It’s good to read healthy relationships once in a while to keep one grounded.
Overall, this was a good read and one I enjoyed. I actually read it twice because I missed the “freak accident” that caused Sakura’s memory loss. I couldn’t spot it still and it wasn’t revisited again in the story. There was also no mention of the characters going to the doctor, or Sakura remembering at least some fragments of his missing past. Nonetheless, the story depicts a healthy and respectful relationship with a simple amnesia plot. I recommend giving it a read if you’re looking for something light.
Omega Tasuku Sakura has lived his life overachieving to prove himself as equal to alphas in this omegaverse… and he’s damn good at it! Sakura has a well-paying job at an established company with a good reputation, so how is it that he wakes up in bed with… his rival from the office?! Not only that, but they’re mated and have been living together?! Sakura is missing his memories from between the start of his last cycle and now, the moment when his office rival Narushige bit the nape of his neck and mated the pair.
A Complicated Omega’s Second Love is a really well balanced BL set in a modern omegaverse. I enjoy how the author handles the genre’s non-con trope by folding it into the omegaverse’s tropes, softening the blow by quite a lot. (Anything non-con is fully hormonal and primal from both parties. Neither of them are in control at the time.) Additionally, Tasuku Sakura AND Narushige are both dreamy boyfriend material, hello?! Not only that, but they make such a wonderful pair. I think their relationship is really healthy and supportive, albeit somewhat too infatuated, but that can be excused for now considering their circumstances. All in all, this is a really good BL that inspires me to think deeper about the human experience and how our own insecurities about ourselves can cause us to put up walls even in the face of love. We all crave love, adoration, and acceptance on some level, but sometimes our own personal insecurities and biases are so deeply rooted that it can cause this love to feel suffocating or like it’s about to negate our progress in who we’ve been striving to be, similarly to what we see with Sakura’s fears. But also similarly to Sakura and Narushige, letting someone love you and loving them back isn’t a betrayal to yourself nor to your accomplishments but rather, it’s an expansion of your world. You’re building a bridge between the two of you and accepting that there is more beyond what we can give ourselves. There is also the love and the home that we can choose to share with someone else.
I had fun with this one. I've always found Alpha/Beta/Omega worlds interesting, and this one is no exception.
Our main characters make a great couple, I really liked their dynamic. With Tasuku being so against the whole thing, I did feel for Narushige. He was so happy, found his mate and everything and bam! Suddenly Tasuku loses 2 weeks of his memory (which is never properly explained btw, why didn't he go see a doctor?) and (understandably) thinks he's being sexually assaulted. Like, what a mess. Besides the doctor thing, I did really like how considerate Narushige was being. Was he a bit forceful in the beginning? Maybe, but I'm attributing that to him being an Alpha. When you really look at his actions, he's just desperately trying to get his lover back by showing him how great they could be together. They take it slow (I love a slow-burn) and we get the fireworks at the end. I really enjoyed the progression of their relationship, though it could have been a teeny bit more gradual.
About the world, like I said I found it really interesting. That does also mean that I feel like it didn't delve deep enough into the Alpha/Omega dynamic on a society scale. Like we get flashbacks from Tasuku's life, but he's carrying so much self-hatred that it does colour his memories a certain way. I'm being so serious when I say this story could have been double the length and I would not have been bored or felt like it dragged, I'm sure of it.
So yes, a very enjoyable read. Cute romance, some very sexy scenes (relatively tame, but definitely deserves the 18+ on the back) and an interesting world that I wish we got to delve a little deeper into.
In a different world, in additional to male and female there are three other genders, Alpha, Beta and Omega. Beta are the regulalr people who make up the general populations. Alpha is the "top guys" who are best at a loot of things and the Omega's are the parents. They can go into heat and be beaten on the neck and then they and the Alpha that bits them become males.
Omega's tend to be judged harshly but their best bet seems to find an alpha mate and settle in. However, Tasuku, the Omega has fought this situation for all of his life and kept herself safe by taking his meds on time. He just not want to surrender or fall into a life where he fells like he is being taken care of. He wants to deserve whatever happens as much as posible, but one night they go out and he ends up staying the night with Narushige who is a Alpha. They end up slowly learning that just because one is an alpha and one is a lowly Omega doesn't mean that they don't both deserve respect and appreciation. In some ways, the Omega has some strong points that the Alpha does not have, all pluses don't go to the Alpha.
This one of the more easily understood, and greatly to be enjoyed take on LGBQT and I read it in one setting and it was great fun.
What an interesting, original story concept! Tasuku was born an omega an d he worked hard all his life. But an unexpected heat at a young age led to him being attacked by an alpha, and his parents panicked. Moved to a new school, Tasuku began to live as an alpha, and now works in a prestigious company. Right in the middle of sex, Tasuku Sakuru "wakes up" and avxnzxccuses the alpha, Narushige, of taking advantage of him while he was asleep. Except, according to Narushige, they're mates! Narushige explains, with evidence!, the complicated story of how 2 weeks ago - an event which is the last thing Tasuku remembers - sparked a heat and they ended up together. Over the last 2 weeks, they've become so close that Tasuku moved in! Only, he doesn't remember any of it, because of the heat. What's worse is that they're professional rivals. This was a really cute story about work enemies becoming lovers. Although it says omegas in this world have a nesting instinct, we didn't get to see that. I would have loved a bit more of the romantic relationship on page, as well. Otherwise it was a good story with nice artwork. The original concept tipped it over from a nice but underwhelming 3* to a 4.
I came across the term “Omegaverse” in my manga perusal and wanted to read a book in this genre. Sakura is an accomplished Omega who works hard, sometimes even more than needed, so that his office colleagues naturally assume that he is an Alpha. The prejudice and dangers that Omegas face has made Sakura wary and unwilling to ever take on an Alpha mate in his life.
However, by some freak accident, he wakes up one morning next to the office’s most popular Alpha, Narushige and has no recollection of having mated with him. As Sakura already considers Narushige to be a rival, he is averse to accepting the latter’s advances and proclamations of love. But as Narushige gently tried to win his heart again, Sakura starts realizing that not all Alphas come with a cruel streak or an agenda.
For me, this story felt like a standard, engaging BL drama. The added fantasy element of the Omegaverse didn’t make much of a difference except to flesh out the plotline. Sweet, unassuming and thankfully, non-toxic.
Okay, I loved this but have such an issue with it.
Starting off this does do the lords work in not being another non-con BL. Main character Tasuku works his butt off to get to where he is in a world prejudiced against omegas. His mate, Narushige supports him, dotes on him, respects him (Tho there was one jealously scene that didn't seem to fit) and doesn't treat him as other for being an omega.
But DEAR LORD the plot convenient amnesia that makes no sense! Did it happen when the boxes fell? It couldn't be heat induced since Tasuku has been going to work. Like the mangaka could have make so many changes instead of using a plot trope that feels like playdough that got smashed in, it works sort of but not really.
I wanted to keep this on my shelf but the amnesia trope left such a bad taste in my mouth I'm going to return it or sell it. It hurts tho, the characters and art are fantastic but no, I can't stand the nonsense of the plot trope. I'll just reread I've Become an Omega Today or some fanfic instead.
Sakura has worked hard to live on his own and at the top of his class, now one of the top office workers at a major company. After a near assault in school when he used to be proud to be an omega at the top of performance, he's hidden his secondary gender from everyone. That all falls apart when he wakes up with a two week memory gap and a new mate, an alpha named Narushige that he thought was his rival at work. It turns out Narushige has been interested in him all along, and now has the task of re-convincing Sakura to stay with him. It's a bit of a quirky and backwards take on the typical omegaverse dynamics. While there are a few moments that could play to typical stereotypes in this type of series that can be a bit ick, the overall dynamic here is very cute and well done as Narushige genuinely does seem to care for Sakura. Sakura just needs to rediscover why he said "yes" in the first place, while also trying to hide his amnesia from his other coworkers.

A green love interest and a safe, sane, and consensual Omegaverse oneshot. When Omegas are looked down upon, this protagonist does everything he can to prove everyone wrong!
This was such a pleasant read. Reading about Tasuku’s internal struggles and seeing how hard he works resonated with me. Narushige was also a great love interest, definitely a green flag. I was rooting for him from the moment I saw him, haha!
Ngl, I enjoyed this so much. If only it had been a little longer! 😂🩷
Who is this manga for This is a great oneshot for fans of omegaverse on the safe, sane and consensual line!
Ahh very cute and a man says there still time to stop??? Sold. The feels are just kind of lacking but they are really cute. The amnesia part felt unnecessary as well. 4/6
I was really sleepy when I wrote the above, so here is some more details. I really feel like the amnesia part added nothing. This could have been slow one sided enemy to lovers because the alpha was really sweet and caring. I think it was just used as a forced proximity which is fine but it felt unfinished.
I really liked the end when he goes to the lack to find Sakura. He just knows him so well. But as I mention above, the feels just aren't there. I would read more to see how this author develops for sure!
More of a 3.5 star rating because I liked that this omega-verse story valued consent. While I liked the story, I wish there a 2nd or even a 3rd volume to fill in the gaps. I’m very curious to see a more detailed look into Tasuku and Narushige’s time together during the 2 weeks that Tasuku forgot about, along with some insight int Narushige’s childhood. It was interesting to see Tasuku’s childhood but then to not see what happened in Narushige’s childhood, was a bit off.
This had lots of good elements that simply weren't done well enough to make it a good read. The art style was fine, although nothing special. The amnesia plotline was a good setup, but never got appropriately fleshed out. The characters themselves felt very half-baked, and lacked real chemistry. Even the smut to me felt very lackluster. All in all, this was a perfectly alright time if you're looking for a manga to read with your brain off.
I really enjoyed it! Tasuku is an interesting guy. He's hiding the fact he's an omega from everyone but his office worker, whose an alpha finds out but keeps his secret without him knowing. There's an interesting twist to their story that I enjoyed and I loved the drama. Had some cute parts as well. Loved the art too. Great one shot story.
By the title I was expecting this to be a story of an omega who fell in love with a different alpha (for whatever reason) but instead it was a case of amnesia and falling in love a "second" time. I ended up enjoying it and the characters grew on me as the story went along. Overall story, art style, pacing, etc I give this a solid 3/5.
I'm sorry to say that I just got bored. The central plot point about the MC's amnesia wasn't particularly engaging, and the progression of the love story had no real emotion to it. It might have been okay if the art was more expressive, but it was a bit flat with every facial expression looking the same.
Made it to chapter 4, so about halfway in, but had to give up because of the major creeper vibes from the alpha and red flags all over the place. The premise was too much of a horror setup for me to get behind the romance at all.
Cute. I love the definitions at the beginning. Their story was interesting, but also, why'd he suddenly forget 2 weeks???? Like, that's so scary to think about. This would serve as a good horror premise. Otherwise, I appreciated how caring and respectful Iori was of his boundaries.
