A disappointing book. The author seems to know her subject matter but not know how to effectively write and/or teach. The book glosses over many concepts and lacks explanations. There really is no depth to the book at all, which would be fine if the concept worked better but along with the shallow teaching I found the illustrations often more confusing than helpful. (usually when talking about facial expressions)
Quick, easy read with illustrations that helped me understand some things about why things happen in our body with regards to relationships and just understanding people in general.
Reading a body a language is reading someone’s mind; what were they thinking or hiding something or they were disagree with us without letting us know. Body language applied in everyday life whether at home, workplace or even during intimate moments with the loved one. Although body language is somewhat universal, there are several things needed to be considered such as culture, gender, voice tone, eye movements, dress code at workplace and other subtle changes. This book contained a lot of good quality of photographs ranging from facial expressions, body parts, and people in group with excellent explanation on the reason why the actor producing such gesture which is essential to fully understand how body language works.
