The audiobook is available for free to listen on PocketFM app. It's definitely worth a listen. Thanks to this book I also came across this cool app.
So i finished an audiobook after months, and this is one that I've really enjoyed listening to. I devoted my whole day to it and it was all fruitful. The voice!! I fell in love with the soothing voice of the narrator. It's loud, crisp, clear and really attractive. The mesmerizing voice takes us to imagine the story in front of us. About the story, it's a blend of genres, spanning from historical LGBTQ romance, political drama, steampunk sci-fi and magical realism. It's a story with suspense, drama, rebellion, taboo, and basically a lesson about facing the consequences of our thoughts and actions. The story is gripping and engaging. I don't think I have any complaints with this one!

I really wanted to like this book. I love the time period it discusses. All the changes that occurred during the Industrial Age, the Depression, and communism. The way a family of means deals with all these changes, living in Baltimore MD.
A son that doesn’t live up to his fathers, nor societies expectations. A daughter that is rebellious against everything. A controlling father, stuck with old values and ideals
The story took some twists and turns but some were so far fetched to be believable. Some of the writing didn’t flow for me.
I don’t like writing reviews like this, but I felt I had to be honest.
The author had me at the blurb. You can listen to this on pocket FM, my first time using the app but I really liked what I heard. The story is nicely done, and it's gripping. It's a blend of genres, there's historical LGBTQ romance, a bit of sci-fi steampunk and fantasy!
