February 23, 2017I've read about 10% of this book, and so far it's really good. Just realized that I may be a sufferer of the "One Minute Before Midnight Syndrome."

Fatal Distractions is a realistically in your face type of read as the author paints a very vibrantly vivid picture of this rat race we call life. Life is beautiful, life is a gift, life is not to be taken for granted, life is love, and then life is complicated, life is uncertain, life is heavy and can seem to be too much to bear, and life is indeed fleeting. How so? When we become enamored with the distractions that await us each and every day of this gift called life.
Dr. Rogers called the roll as she expounds on several ‘leading ladies’ within the 66 chapters of the bible. She introduces you to the woman yearning to be loved, the busy bee that seeks to perfect her surroundings, the woman that constantly battles health issues, the mother waiting to have a child, the wind beneath his wings wife, as well as from mother to daughter, all of these themes are very familiar and effortlessly connects the modern day woman as she assumes the title of ‘leading lady.’ She pushes us further into the dynamics of duty as she analyzes the raw emotions that are cultivated with each of these tasks and how they manipulate and vindicate as they desecrate the beauty of abundant life. Fatal Distractions will diagnose the fatal and the nonfatal distractions in your daily walk and heighten your awareness of sanctified love walk that always seem to fall short, but more so, the reward in acknowledging how much GOD truly loves us. Loves us past all of the distractions, but we have to first be recognizant of the trap, because 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that temptations and trials may come, but GOD will always have prepared us an escape route.
This book was a study tool for our Ladies Bible Study and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. The execution of the chapters, the development of each distraction and the connecting factors were all excellent. I commend Dr. Rogers for keeping the book simple yet not compromising on the depth of intent, the personal testimonies were amazing as a lot of women will truly be able to see their reflections and hopefully take the high road for greater on their journey.
