I live in sunny Florida where I spend my days taxiing the family to various places while jotting down the many crazy thoughts inside my head. I enjoy a freelance career writing for several magazines sharing some of my interesting viewpoints on life and those around me. I can usually be found on my back porch watching the squirrels chittering at the birds while enjoying a cigar, a scotch, and the many characters that talk to me inside my head.
So many people believe fiction books are solely meant for entertainment, romance for sure. However, what I have come to enjoy about this writer is his ability to use fiction as a means to explore some very deep topics. He allows the reader to see a deeper side of his characters without being preachy or opinionated. Rather he sets up the story so we can make up our minds. In this story, Aimee if faced with the idea of becoming something she is not to make others happy. It's something I know I've faced in the past and I'm sure others have too. In the end, she accepts that she is who she is and finds out the no one wanted her to be different anyway. It was an enjoyable read and a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
Reading this story, I could not help but think of the mean things that I said to my ex husband girlfriend at the time when I was going thru divorce. Although I wasn't the guilty party. This story makes you look at the situation from the outside and you cannot help but feel for all the parties involved.
As you sit back and watch Aimee deal with the situation and you can feel the emotions run wild thru her while she was trying to figure out how not to loose her man. I know it had me holding my breathe and cursing Robbie under it praying he didn't do something stupid and mess this up...lol..
If you have ever been the ex wife in a divorce in some cases you cannot help but feel for Bonnie as she tries to fix what she messed up.
Then feeling for Clint as he tries to make sense of both of the woman in his life. I know I am kind of glad that Abby was little so she didn't have as much drama herself. The older the kids are when the parent comes back the harder it is for the kids to adjust.
Still love the Robbie though.... You will enjoy this book and if you haven't started this trilogy go back and read Sibling Rivalry and start the journey. You will not be disappointed.
Always Aimee is the third and final book in the Harper Twins series. Like the two before it, it doesn’t disappoint. Robbie Cox takes the reader on a journey of what it’s like to be a twin. A hot looking, unaware, totally different from her identical sister twin. In the first two books the reader gets to see the dynamics of being a twin, all of the feelings, good and bad, and all of the disfunction that most people don’t realize that twins have. I’m this book, Robbie writes a very believable story of what happens when a woman (Aimee) thinks that she is getting her happy ever after, and his (Clint) absent wife shows up wanting to take up where she left off. Aimee goes through the feelings of being tough, inadequate, standing her ground to fight for her man , back to feeling vulnerable and wondering where she really does stand. This book will keep you wanting to know what is happening on the next page, and also feeling sorry for the soon to be ex wife. Brilliantly written, very inciteful, a great look at the mind of a woman going through divorce and the new woman, while being that new woman. My only thought after reading this, is that Robbie would have given Bonnie(the ex wife) her own HEA book.
I have to admit that I didn’t expect this story to progress and turn out as I anticipated and I am thrilled that it didn’t! This story keeps you guessing about who is going to have a happily ever after.
I loved the relationship between Clint and Aimee, soft and relaxed. A relationship that can stand the test of time and be very loving as supportive. I didn’t expect my feelings towards Bonnie to turn somewhat soft and kind of hope that she has grown up and will be the mother she needs to be. I also enjoyed the feistiness of Aimee when she realizes that she has to fight for her man and the lengths she chooses to go to do so.
I enjoyed the back and forth between Clint/Aimee/Bonnie navigating this very intense, sensitive ad difficult relationship. It also turns out that Karla can be very supportive of her twin and that makes for an entertaining aspect to the story.
This is a very good story. One that you wont want to put down or miss! Excellent job! I loved it!
I really enjoyed this book. I loved how everything ended and it was a perfect way to end the trilogy. I would really really recommend reading in order otherwise you really would not understand the characters as well because you really see them develop over the course of the three books. Aimee is struggling with not only her feelings for Clint, but herself as well. Oh, and Clint's daughter. Doing what is best for a sweet little girl. Oh there were times that I wanted to throw something at Clint's ex, who abandoned not only him but her daughter and thought she could pop back in their lives like nothing happened. I was thinking some not so nice things. That was one of the things that I loved about this book though. I ran through every emotion I can think of while reading this one.
I really enjoyed this book for so many reasons. The characters are well written with so much depth and feeling. A single beautiful woman who works and tries to keep her twin sister out of trouble. She is unaware of how attractive she is because she gets pushed aside for wild sister. She falls for man, who raising is daughter alone after is wife ran out on him. The ex shows up out of the blue and wants back into the mix. Aimee has to start coloring outside the lines to keep the man she loves. It is a sweet and moving story of doing stuff you never thought to try to free yourself.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The author really outdid himself with this installment of the Harper Twins. Aimee thinks it's time to start thinking outside of the box, now that the soon-to-be-ex-wife is back in "town". This couple has some hard times ahead with the reappearance of Bonnie. The story slowly brings you into what it would be like to be in their positions and keeps you flipping the pages to cheer this wonderful couple.
Aimee is a sweet girl. I love the story about Aimee and how she is settle down. Now I need to know what is going to happen next and if she will finish settling down! Aimee has a wild ride and has a wild future before her so I could not stop reading it and had to figure out what was going to happen to her and her sister and the guys in the story. Now hopefully this doesn't end this series as I want to know what else is going to happen!
This was a great finish to the series and I am happy with the outcome. I think I am going to have to go back to the erotica that I like though, but for a vanilla read this was sweet. It was a very nice read.
