With the stakes higher than ever Harper finds herself falling for the quirky Gelian only to discover he’s none other than a creature from the darkest depths of her hatred, a merman who loves Harper too. Harper has to decide if love or hatred will win out, and why the mermaids hate Gelian as much as she hates mermaids before she decides which dark desire to give in to.

Caged Hearts by Erin Lee
She told herself, when they tossed her in the cage and demanded answers, that she was different. She promised herself that she'd stick to the code and never give them what they wanted, no matter what the cost. She refused to betray her kind and was willing to give up her very life for it. The one thing she didn't plan for, though, was The Gentle One.

The Game by Rena Marin

This is an anthology of delicious awesomeness. Just saying.

So, I may be a little bias because one of the author's is the amazing Casia Courtier and her contribution, Bloodlust, was my favorite. That is not to say I didn't like the others. They were all great in their won way. Great writing. Great plot. I enjoyed all of them.

Blood Lust-a lip smacking good vampire story
The Game-this oen intrigued me from the start.
Darkest Depths-MERMAIDS!
Cursed Roots-Everybody loves curses, right?
Caged Hearts-WEREWOLVES!

In closing, this has everything you want and everything you didn't know you needed. My ony problem is that I wished they were longer ;)

Bloodlust - This was a delightfully unique take on a vampire story and I enjoyed the journey through the darkness that it took me on.

Cursed Roots - This story was well-written and really transported me into the dark woods. I felt as if I were right alongside Brea through it all. I very much enjoyed the cyclical pattern of this story. It was another fabulous addition to this collection of stories.

Darkest Depths - The action happening at the beginning of this story hooked me and I could barely wait to see what would happen next. It was an interesting premise to think of mermaids as monsters. I liked the journey this story took me on. I was definitely entertained.

Caged Hearts - I was already intrigued from the beginning and I could feel a longing and sadness for this werewolf's plight. I could physically feel her hunger and pain as they tried to get her to show her true form in some very cruel ways. The sudden kindness that got shown to her really gave me hope. I really wanted things to work out for her and Garrison in the absolute worst way.
Part Two of the story started off by providing me some perspective to mesh with my feelings and previous events. There was certainly a lot of brutality described and it set a very chilling scene. The multiple perspectives in this short story were very powerful and made for a thrilling and exciting read.
Part Three of this story was quite heartbreaking. Picturing all that Garrison had endured was so sad. The ending brought things full-circle, even while breaking my heart just a little bit more.

The Game - The game of cat and mouse described in the beginning of this story piqued my interest. The way Scott was torn about what to do with Carly had me wanting to read more and more. The end of the story was very satisfying. This was a great story to conclude this collection.

Capture #1 is a fabulous anthology with five dark paranormal romance novellas.

Bloodlust by Casia Courtier: Owen Rush - Seasoned Vampire Hunter, and Helena - Vampire will take you on a dark journey that is an unparalleled vampire read. With intriguing character's a passionate & well crafted tale. One of my two favourites in the anthology.

Cursed Roots by Mila Waters: An old family curse & a cabin hidden in the woods will transport you into a dark magical world in the woods where Brie Jones is on a collision course with a handsome warlock. I absolutely love the character's, magic, & unrivaled tale. It has all the perfect blend of creativity and beauty. This novella is my other favourite in this anthology.

Darkest Depths by Yolanda Allard: Harper Hatchet - Mermaid Hunter & Gelian Wake - Merman are on opposite sides. A dark intriguing read.

Caged Hearts by Erin Lee: A dark chilling read about werewolves told in multi-pov which gives it a very sovereign and blood-tingling read. I was hooked right from the beginning till the end. A addictive read.

The Game by Rena Marin: A true game of cat and mouse, between the hunter and the prey. A highly intriguing werewolf tale that piqued my interest right from the beginning until the end. This novella is gripping and will have you at the edge of your seat until the end. Carly and Scott are compelling characters and will take you on a journey with a curveball ending. Perfect tale to conclude this splendid anthology.

“Bloodlust” by Casia Courtier *4.5/5*
Vampire hunter tale with interesting characters, good pacing, and the right amount of details. Well written!

“Cursed Roots” by Mila Waters *4/5*
Warlock tale with a family curse. This story was well written with enough present and past information to get a clear picture but I would’ve expected more magic.

“Darkest Depths” by Yolanda Allard *5/5*
A thoroughly entertaining read from start to finish! It starts out strong with an action-packed scene with a Mermaid Hunter rescuing a mysterious man from the viscous Mermaids/Mermen she despises. She resolves to protecting this person while seeking revenge on those responsible for her parents’ death but discovers along the way that there are secrets and not everything is what it seems. I would love to read more!

“Caged Hearts” by Erin Lee *4.5/5*
The beginning of this werewolf tale was so addicting, I wanted it to keep going and then it completely changed story and I was left a bit confused, then it switched around again and it took me a while to get a handle on things but I found it all quite interesting in the end.

“The Game” by Rena Marin *4/5*
This beastly game of cat and mouse was interesting to read through. The point of view switches between 2 characters which helps create a smooth chemistry.

Uncaged Review: These stories all fall under the romance between a human and a paranormal being, in this book you’ll see a warlock, werewolves, a vampire and even mermaids. I enjoyed all the stories, although a couple felt incomplete, like they were an excerpt from a full novel – and it took a while to sink in.

Two stories stood out for me. Darkest Depths by Yolanda Allard was the most original story, with a hunter who kills mermaids and mermen after they slaughtered her parents. Don’t go thinking these are the sweet Disney princesses – these mermaids are monsters. I like the pace and the originality of the story and it had a couple nice surprises.

The second story that I liked, especially the ending, was The Game by Rena Marin. A werewolf tale that really held no surprises until the end, the author ended it in a surprising way.

All in all the stories were entertaining, and even though I would have liked to see a bit more meat to them, I enjoyed the stories. Reviewed by Cyrene

Capture was great book. Each author wrote in their own style. The stories were on the edge of your seat chilling. They had you turning the pages as fast as you could read. Mila Waters with her curse, Yolanda Allard monster hunter, Erin Lee with her story that has so many twists and turns you'll have to read to understand. Then there's Casia Courtier's story if bloodlust with vampires, Rena Marin with her werewolf love story was last but not the least. Combined they wrote a book that has to continue with book two.

I loved all the stories. All the authors (some known to me & some new to me) put their own personality and styles into this collection. There was great mix of supernatural beings, happy endings and not so happy endings.

An Anthology about one of my first favorite reads... Vampires, werewolves, mermaids and more... Each story portrays the Authors vision of one of my favorite supernatural beings. Even through each story was a short read for the Anthology I would love for them to each expand their characters into more reads..

This a book about vampires, werewolves and witches! what's not to love?!
Each author brought their own unique style and story to the book.
All of the stories were fantastic but favorite stories in here were Bloodlust by Casia Courtier and Caged Hearts by Erin Lee. I love how Courtier put her twist on the Vampires and Lee had a great story for her werewolves.
All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone! Great job ladies!

This anthology was a good idea, but most of the stories were a but rushed. I understand they were to be short stories, but I felt like the stories jumped a bit too much. The two that stood out the most to me were Darkest Depths and The Game. The stories were more complete and very entertaining. I was laughing at Harper and Galion and on the edge of my seat for Carly and Scott. I really enjoyed them.
