About the author

Robert Storey

As a young boy Robert always dreamed about becoming a fiction writer, but it never occurred to him that he could follow that dream. Some years later fate intervened and he was struck down with a debilitating neurological condition, which was brought on by a car accident some years earlier. Rendered housebound on and off for well over a decade, he thought his condition signaled an end to his life, but Robert had failed to realize something ... he was wrong, and in his darkest hours he turned to writing as a means of escape. Never thinking anyone would read his work, let alone like it, Robert has now published four books in his bestselling Ancient Origins series and plans on writing four more, along with a fantasy series and a number of thrillers. His condition still keeps him indoors more than he would like, but it doesn't stop him from writing, and more importantly it doesn't stop him from dreaming...

Robert currently lives in the county of Kent in England and is a lover of science, archaeology and the mysterious. He has a passion for films, specifically action and adventure, science fiction and blockbuster thrillers, but as he got older he realised new releases rarely matched the classics he'd already had the privilege of watching, and it was partly this frustration that led him to create a world of his own.

I will repeat myself here. I think this entire series of books would make an incredible television series. It has all the necessary ingredients including major villains, world-wide events, brave but not super-powered good guys, the possible end of the world as we know it, love interests plus the strange world of the giants and their ruins.

There's a plan to assassinate the President, Joiner gets in trouble, kidnapping, a train battle, religious fanatics, loads of gunplay and strong women. There is just too much in this book to bring up in this short review. Get the book, get the first four volumes in the series and get the last (?) book in the series. You definitely will not be disappointed.

Awesome, action-packed, nail biting, out of this world, but not too far fetched entertainment!

I have many times pondered sitting down and writing the perfect story. However it appears Robert Storey beat me to it. And this latest installment to the Ancient Origins saga is the perfect addition to that story. Robert knows how to keep one immersed in his world and eagerly waiting for the next bit of text to be published. He is a great writer who has put alot of care and tons research into his work. I personally already cannot wait for the next book to come out. If you are an "alternative theory" enthusiast like myself, or an avid science fiction reader looking for a good long story to jump right into, I fully recommend you read the whole Ancient Origins series starting with the first book: Ancient Origins Revelations. The whole series is action-packed, and full of cool theories for the reader to enjoy. I would recommend Ancient Origins (books 1-6) to all my friends. So, give it a go. And trust me, you will not be disappointed

And there we go... an author just trying to wring everything he can from a series that's earning well. What started out as a sci-fi, fantasy thriller suddenly turned woo-woo. With preaching that sounded like the author suddenly found spirituality. I was subjected to preachings that sounded like a combination of all the inspirational quotes in the world. This was supposed to be the finale, and I bought it on pre-order and I can tell you that my expectations were high. But after reading it (I wanted to throw my kindle, in truth) as a reader, I felt cheated and angry and used. And what's more... it's not the finale? There's another book, which I also bought just to see how far the author would take it. And wow... it was unbelievably more preachy than this one. It's like a self-help book.

To the author, I do have a message for you. It was a good series up to the 4th. Something you and generations after you could've been proud of. You should've ended it with dignity. If you found spirituality and wanted to write about it, you should've written another series in a different genre. This and The Lost Prophet will forever be perfect examples of When An Author Doesn't Know When To Quit. It was a waste of my time and money. Have you ever been hungry and you ordered your favorite chicken in a restaurant and you waited 30 minutes and they served you fish? Like that. But far worse. It felt like a con to me.

This is an action packed thriller! The year is 2042, 2 years after an asteroid had hit in South Africa. At that time, arrangements had already begun for subterranean places of refuge in various places in the US. As the dust cloud resulting from the impact resolved more quickly than had been anticipated, many breathed a sigh of relief, that the earth had avoided the destruction that was feared from the comet.
What was unknown to the general public, was the remaining asteroids on track to hit the earth in 2042 , the sequels of which human life on the surface could not endure. A group, GMRC, was set up initially to develop further the underground systems needed in which mankind could take refuge. As with all best laid plans, it went astray as a committee of selfish people took control and decided who would be allowed to enter into these sanctuaries. Meanwhile, most people on earth remained unaware, even the President of the US, until the time period covered in this book. A handful of people have been fighting this evil plot.
It is the side stories that I find so intriguing in this series: Where did the Anakim come from, and do they have secrets for modern man to help avoid destruction of life on the surface? What factions inside the Catholic Church are fighting each other—and who to believe? Who is the crazy Russian religious zealot and where did he come from? How can the world leaders come together to take back control of earth’s resources from GMRC?
I really enjoyed how Mr. Storey keeps all these stories in play during this book, as he had in this series. The faceoff of good versus evil is well done. Incorporating actual Scriptural prophecies and prophecies from the Anakim artifacts is interesting, and that the Vatican has withheld these artifacts from the rest of the world is believablely portrayed. The reader is left to consider what WOULD world governments do if faced with such a situation.
The story would be appropriate for readers of all ages, as little or no cursing and no intimate scenes are included. I did receive an advance copy, but this review reflects my own thoughts.

Well worth the wait, in this latest installment in the Ancient Origins series by Robert Storey we find previous enemies working together and some previous collaborators working against each other. The levels of intrigue are heightened as the possibility of another underground Anakim city is revealed, and in the midst of all of this the American President stands up to the GMRC. Storey takes his readers on another very wild ride through a world filled with distrust of governments and the Global Meteor Response Council in search of answers earths past and its future. Based on reading this book, the next installment is going to be another page turner.
For readers of the Ancient Origins stories, this is a must read, if you are new to this series, these are not standalone books, you need the previous stories to fully appreciate what is going on. I received an ARC edition of this book and chose to provide this review.

Yet another?

I waited for this volume expecting it to be the last in this series. Although interesting, I believe Robert Storey in just grinding out another book.

Wow! This is a thriller from the get-go. Secrets, adventure, intrigue, this book has it all. It drew me in. I enjoyed following all the characters around the world and putting some of the secrets together. I can't even imagine how to put specifics into my review without spoilers. I highly recommend Tenth Protocol and I'm definitely going to be reading more of this series.

Thoroughly enjoyed it!!

This kept me riveted the whole way through. I have to purchase the next book just so I can keep up with the characters. So many questions, answers must be a page away! Excellent work, Mr. Storey!

Apart from some interesting action sequences, this volume just extends the painful slogging arcs of the various characters such that I am rooting for the asteroids. The book appears to be reaching to twist what could have been some epic scifi into a theological saviour story. I hope that I am wrong about that, but I am thinking that the authors that took over the plot have influenced the direction. The ever twisting narratives bend around in search of cohesion but existing only to extend the story rather than provide a way of carrying it forward. The constant use of multi layer conspiracies, which forces you to question every sub character motive is exhaustingly overused. The point blank refusal to kill any protagonist or antagonist who exist more as caricatures than recognisable people is unacceptable given the ridiculous excess of the violent circumstances they exist in.

I wasn't able to "get into" this one when I started reading it. In fact, I set it aside and finished three other books while it was on its side-track. Once I picked it up again, though, I was ready, and drawn back into the familiar set of characters.

This one picks up more of what's happening "on the surface", not so much subterranean. And I understand there is one more to go, but it might be a while before I'm ready for this series again. I already finished another book in between.

Confusion abounds, HELP!

The author is correct; I am confused. The progression of each book has been easy to follow until now. I'm beginning to wonder how old he is. Be that as it may, I will continue. I have to re-read some part of it as soon as I figure out which part; and I am usually such a detailed reader.

Not as good as the previous books.

There is so much going on with the plot twists. The book doesn't have the same hold on me as the previous books.

The story continues, but it is so convoluted I had problems keeping track.

But there is the next book, hopefully it will work better for me.

This book and the series have been a great read. On my scale of 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a real page turner, I give The Tenth Protocol a 5. The story is very captivating, fast paced and a great read for the science fiction and adventure readers.

Fab series best I've read in ages

This is the penultimate book in the series and it's been brilliant so far. Can't wait to read the last book whilst at the same time I don't want it to end. It's a mixture of thriller suspense and ancient archeology with few twists and turns. Even better than the da vinci code and I loved that.

Kept me reading - although it split off a little from what I was expecting, I kept reading with anticipation... Some of the visualizations were hard to imagine but overall the story continued to flow. I'm invested.

Enjoyed the story, just too wordy

I always enjoy this series. It is unique and, at times, thought provoking, but this book seemed to be more long winded than the previous books. Still looking forward to the next book in series!

Protocol

I've decided I don't trust Steiner! I truly hope that the Silver dies and the President lived. It was exciting, dramatic, and entertaining. So much so that I found it hard to put down. I can't wait to read the next one! I'm addicted and worried about Sarah.

Meh

A good plot and cast of characters weighed down by writing that prizes repetition and way too much exposition of the characters ' inner thoughts and motivations. Even a mediocre editor could raise the rating to four stars by redlining half the prose.

Another fantastic book

This book was much slower paced and demonstrated how time starts slowing as disaster strikes. The story ends on a cliff hanger without the situation resolved. I can't wait to read the next instalment.

Realistic but in the end a bit far fetched. Scifi at it's best really. The author would have gone far in the the writers world if not for his much too early demise.
Love the characters, the interaction between de different groups, which tend to compare how the world could function today.

Way to many characters and subplots and story lines that go nowhere. Also check your spelling. Our car hit a kurb. Its curb. Also its a tire on a car not tyre. Those were a few. This was a filler book. NOTHING is resolved or any closure of anything. This is a poorly written series.

His writing continues to improve. I hope continues this series.

I appreciate a multi thread story line. I'm looking forward to the next one. Blah blah that's six more words.

It's so infuriating that the author keeps stretching this series. I loved this series till book 4, he should have ended it there. It was a pain to see this beloved series go completely off track!
