Cyborg beast in mating fever!

The heroine: Kira - she is the youngest coalition academy instructor and is currently stationed on the Colony. She is extremely attracted to one of the scarred Atlan warriors on the planet. She sees his cyborg parts and scars as badges of honor. She knew he fought hard and survived. She saw him as hot, muscular perfection. Though she definitely wasn’t looking for a mate, as most warriors were dominant and controlling.

The Hero: Anghar - he is an Atlan warrior like Rez from Her Cyborg Beast, which means he has an inner beast (sort of like the Hulk) which comes out in times of war and for mating. When the beast comes out, Anghar grows about a foot taller, his muscles get bigger, his teeth get sharper, and he can’t always control the beast who had gone feral. Anghar was held captive by the Hive for a long time and he had nearly lost all hope, especially after taking the test for an Interstellar Bride and hadn’t been matched with any female.

The Story: Anghar was fighting a Prion male in the practice ring, he knocked the guy out with one punch and saw Kira in the crowd watching. He immediately zoned in on her and stared right at her. Kira had been watching Anghar and wouldn’t mind a one-night hookup with massive warrior. So, when he held out his hand to her and proclaimed her as his, she figured she would love to be his for a night.

Anghar knew from the start that Kira was his and with his beast being feral like it is, he also knew that he wanted her as a mate and that if she left him, he would need the rest of the warriors to put him out of his misery. Kira especially didn’t want a mate since she often went on covert black ops missions behind enemy lines which often had a high mortality rate.

The story was good, the world building and character development was pretty good as well. I loved the main characters as well as the supporting characters. I especially loved Denzel Washington (not the actor but named after him) and the fact that he was a human being that was a cyborg, corrupted with Hive technology and became friends with Anghar.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Elizabeth Hart and Jeremy York. I have heard both of these narrators quite a few times before and though Elizabeth is not in in my list of favorite narrators, she is good and very natural sounding. Jeremy is one of my favorites, he has a deep gravelly voice and does great in books like this.

2.5 Sci-fi Smut Stars
I binged these over the weekend, my friend gave me a basket of them from a donation for a silent auction she’s coordinating… which I find fucking hilarious because these are dirty AF. Needless to say, the basket didn’t make the cut (seriously the covers alone should’ve clued the donor in 😂) but their loss is my gain. This is the 5th book in her Colony series which is a spinoff from the Interstellar Brides series. These guys have all been captured, tortured, and modified by the Hive. Calling them cyborgs isn’t really accurate, they each have been modified with hive parts, but they aren’t machines at all. Angh for instance has an implant in his brain that allows him to hear their mines.

Bottom Line- This is VERY similar to Mating Fever, and I didn’t really enjoy that either. Kira is a military chick that didn’t enter the program, so they aren’t on the same page for a hunk of the book. She was so focused on her duty, that IMO her sudden desire to be a mate didn’t flow. 2.5 on a smut scale is probably a 2 or 1 on a regular scale. I’d only recommend to fans of the series because it’s not one of her better ones. I’m only rounding up because we get updates on Seth and Chloe AND another fav of mine Denzel Washington found his mate in Kira’s BFF, Melody.

This is the romance between Angh and Kira.

This is the first book by Grace Goodwin where one of the people in the couple is not a part of the Interstellar Brides Program. The two of these characters meet in The Colony because Kira is on a secret mission for the coalition. But after she sneaks out the morning of their one night together, Angh's Beast comes forth and goes after his mate.

This was so much fun! One of my faves in the series for sure! :)

Just when I don’t think I could love the fantastic Interstellar Brides: The Colony series more, here comes Cyborg Fever and Angh and Kira’s story. Swoon.

Angh is working his way back to himself after Hive captivity and rescue. Stuck on The Colony due to the Hive implants, Angh is alone and lonely—and hoping for an Interstellar Bride to soothe his beast, and help cure his escalating mating fever.

Kira’s attraction to Angh is immediate, but due to her duty and obligation, her time with Angh will be limited to just one night. One very hot and sexy night.

But one night won’t be enough to soothe the Atlan beast lurking inside Angh. Nothing short of a full mating will do. But at what cost?

Kira and Angh have scorching hot chemistry—get the fire extinguisher ready scorching hot. And they’re perfect for each other, if only they both realize it in time. I loved their insta-connection. Loved their banter, their sexy times, their inability to really get their acts together almost to their own detriment. But, damn, they were fun and sexy and smart. I couldn't wait for Angh story. This poor guy has been through so much and now he is going through the fever. He needs a mate and he thinks it will never find her. Just when things couldn't get any worse he meets Kira. Angh and Kira have instant chemistry. But when you are in the middle of a war your love life isn't the priority.

I loved this story and was happy to read it and give my honest review.

Loved Warlord Anghar from the prior books but this woman... she just didn't connect with me. She'd been in the Coalition military long enough to understand what the Atlan beast mating situation was but she kept treating his claim as simply a fuck buddy. I liked that he was willing to let her go if she didn't choose him but it broke my heart that she had to be told that instead of being willing to figure out how to make it work. And then once she knew about Angh's expertise she could have been immediately plotting to get him with her as a partner (which is how it turned out). Instead she's willing to martyr herself because he'd be needed elsewhere. With her rejection there was no elsewhere for him and again she should have known that when he kept calling her mate and MINE. Seems like these human coalition soldiers need better education about the other humanoids they were around. Sex scenes were hot as only Atlans can make them and I'm glad they sorted out their future.

I love Ms. Goodwin’s sci-fi books.
She writes them with details and descriptions.
It’s so vivid that I can see what she’s describing.
The characters are interesting and always have a unique story behind them
Cyborg Fever is no exception.
I loved both Kira and Angh.
Kira is such a strong female heroine.
With a strong sense of right and wrong and her duties and responsibilities.
She puts her own needs and wants aside for the sake of others and her demanding job,which also intails the lives of others.
Angh is a strong powerful alien.
He also puts the priority of others ahead of his own life.
Both of them together not only make for a powerful team on the job.
But they make one dynamic couple!
They are passionate and sizzling hot!
Great book with a gripping plot,intense emotions and a whole lot of hotness!

This quick read is super hot, intense and emotional. The chemistry and attraction between Angh and Kira is explosive and sizzling. The story is entertaining and the plot moves at a good pace. I loved the emotional turmoil and tension. It will definitely keep you turning pages. A very good alien romance. I am posting a totally honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

It was good but a little

boring. It was too much will they won’t they nonsense. It started off on a good foot but then just dragged IMO.

I felt that both characters were too quick to “die” for every damn thing that it just negates the sacrifice and meaning of it! Plus dying isn’t romantic. Dying is easy. There are countless ways to die and endless reasons why to go and bite the big one! But what’s romantic is “effort”! The precious “effort” put into being together is how you show love! “Effort” is valuable. But Angh was silly in his over thinking self pity and Kira was selfish in her oversimplified dedication to duty and in trying to turn Angh into a bootycall! Smh.

Like I said it was good but it lost me somewhere and I wasn’t invested in the couple anymore. I was interested in the progression of the war though. I think the author is fantastic in her world/universe creation in this series!! Keep up the great work!👍

If you are reading this series, along with all the spinoffs, in chronological order, I recommend reading this AFTER book 14 of the interstellar bride series and BEFORE book 6 of the cyborg series.

The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides in the United States. The Colony Series takes place alongside the interstellar bride series, but focuses solely on the residents of the Colony. The colony houses veterans of war, tainted with Hive technology. They cannot return to their home worlds because of their cyborg hive tech, so they live the remainder of their lives on the colony. Brides can be matched to a soldier living on the colony as they can also test for the matchmaking system like everyone else. As the books progress, more brides specifically request the Colony instead of another coalition planet.

Written in first person, Cyborg Fever is book 5 in this series and follows the human bride Instructor Kira Dahl and her alien cyborg Warlord Anghar from the planet Atlan. This book takes place outside the interstellar bride program. Kira is a member of the IC, who works as an instructor for the academy when she’s not tracking down the hive. We first met Anghar in book 12 of the interstellar bride series “Fighting For Their Mate,” when Seth saved him from being a hive slave and Angh helped Chloe save the entire Karter Battle Group. Anghar was sent to the Colony with Governor Max afterwords. And that was where he met Kira. Kira was on a field trip with the academy cadets on the colony and she watched the fighting in the pits, where Angh was fighting a Prillion. His beast recognized Kira immediately as his mate, and he knocked the Prillion unconscious to get to her. Unfortunately, because her job owned her, she wasn’t free to put on the cuffs, so she snuck out of his bed and left with her students the next morning. Anghar tracked her down to the academy and tore off the door to her classroom to get to her. Her boss, a female Everian hunter with the IC, orchestrated a plan to bring the two together because she needed Anghar working for the IC. They become a team, she eventually puts the cuffs on, and the two presumably live happily ever after with some speed bumps along the way.

Atlans are humanoid. What sets them apart from everyone else is their massive size (they’re the largest of the alien species), and they have a split personality of sorts that they refer to as their “beast.” Their beast lives inside them, very much with its own personality, and only comes out during danger or mating fever. When the beast comes out to play, they grow bigger - with elongated fangs, sharp facial features and bulging muscles - and their main personality takes a backseat behind the scenes. Did I mention that the Atlans are my favorite of the alien species?

Anghar was easily one of my most favorite characters in the entire series. Kira is still questionable. Her reasoning for refusing to become Angh’s mate was naive and dumb, but at least she came around before it was too late. Anghar refused to tell her that he was in fever and that he would die without her. He was ready to die just so she could finish her remaining two year contract. His honor was a little silly, but I respect it. Kira on the other hand? Waited WAY too long to realize that someone else could easily fill her shoes. And she wasn’t useful in her job without Angh anyway. 🙄

As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance.

ATLAN WARLORD AND COLATION ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR

While this book is part of a series, it reads well as a stand-alone. The Interstellar Brides program was designed to match up mates from Earth to Alien on various planets. Because Warlard Anghar was a captive of the Hive and now part of The Colony, he had hoped to find a mate, but a match was never found. He is in danger of entering Mating Fever, and without a mate, his Beast will go out of control. Before the Atlan can allow that to happen, he would need to be put down.

Captain Kira Dahl and her friend, Melody, are at The Colony and will be in the arena where they hold a contest and fights in a pit, where she will see Angh and a Prillion, but she has only eyes for the Atlan. When he hears her holler, his Beast and he will find her, he will win his match, come for her, and she will go to him. What for him is finding his mate, and his Beast is calling her “mine” but for her is a night of passion, because she is under contract and can’t become involved.

“The implants meant nothing to me except badges of honor. He’d battled the Hive, and fought hard, survived. Everyone on this planet had, and I respected every single warrior here.”

The plot will have Angh and Kira meeting on The Colony and spending hours together having sex, but it is much more to him and his Beast, they know she is their mate. Angh will place his mating cuffs on and offer a set to her, but she won’t wear them, and he can’t force her. When he wakes the next morning, she is gone, and his Beast is raging.

“We both needed the reminder that I had someone to protect, to love, to serve. Beast and man both needed a reason to keep on fighting.”

The Hive’s new technology is making the fight more difficult, and they need Warlord Anghar back in battle with the device implanted in his head by the Hive. He will travel to where Kira is located and witness her at the academy training cadets, and in simulated warfare. He will realize her talents, but the Vice Admiral makes threats again Kira, and his Beast will lose control. If she isn’t willing to accept him as her mate, he has nothing left to live for.

“Beautiful and brave and perfect. I knew my mate would be fierce. Strong. But you are honorable as well. You are a warrior in heart and mind, and I cannot sacrifice thousands of lives for our personal happiness. You are right, my one true mate. As much as it hurts both of us, you are right. We cannot be together.”

How much will two people be willing to sacrifice for others over themselves? When threats are made against Kira, Angh will not allow that to happen to her, even if it means the end of his life. When Kira learns he is in the Academy brig, she will challenge the Vice Admiral and go as far as giving up everything she has ever worked for. Only Kira can sooth the savage Beast and claim Angh as her mate, but has she waited too long? Is there still hope for them, the future, and the battle against the Hive?

“She wasn’t meant to be mine. I had offered her everything I had, heart, body, and soul, and fate was against us. This war was against us.”

Coalition Academy Instructor, Captain Kira Dahl, was watching the gorgeous Atlan fighting in The Pit. His scars spoke of the fierce battles he had survived. He had fought the Hive and survived, earning her respect, as did the others here on The Colony. The Pit was their outlet for the rage and pain these warriors had dealt with, whether they fought there or just watched. As Kira stared at him, he looked to the stands, directly into her eyes! And when he defeated his opponent with one punch, he walked straight to her in the stands.

Angh carried Kira toward his room, but neither could wait that long and he pressed her against the wall. His beast came forward and he waited for her fear, her repulsion, her rejection – but instead saw only appreciation and desire! He kept repeating, “Mine”, and needed to finish the process with the mating cuffs in his room, to give him a reason for living and protecting his mate. Unfortunately, they had only one night together since her duties as an instructor would demand that she return to the Coalition Academy. Angh put his mating cuffs on and told her she would need to put hers on too, voluntarily without coercion. She had to accept him. But she pushed them aside. And in the morning, she had slipped out of his bed and boarded the transport.

With Kira gone, Warlord Anghar feels the deadly mating fever begin. Soon his beast side will rage out of control and he will need to be executed for the safety of all. Only if his mate gets to him in time, would his fever go away and he could be saved. Would Kira realize what is happening to Angh? Would she find a way to get to him when he is locked in the brig? Most important, would Angh’s warrior beast recognize and spare her if she came to him -- or had she waited too long?

This was a suprmely excellent story! I don’t how how the author does it, but she gets better and better with each one – or maybe it’s just that I really love the Atlans! The character development was top-notch. And the constant action and suspense carried the reader relentlessly through the exciting story line. I highly recommend this book which can easily be read as a standalone. This book is at the top of my favorites!

I adore the Colony where warriors affected by the Hive must now reside. Anghar, an Atlan with Cyborg enhanced strength is living a sad life with no mate and restricted to getting his kicks using his strength only in the fighting pit. Kira Dahl is an instructor to the cadets at the Coalition Academy but secretly, part of the Intellegence Core. Anghar is about to fight in the pit when Kira and fellow academy friend are at the Colony and decide to attend the fight. Anghar spots Kira in the audience and there is a sudden, strong draw to each other. They decide they must have one night of hot, monkey sex. Kira must leave soon after her night of bliss with Anghar as she has other work waiting for her to accomplish. Anghar is crazy about Kira but very upset that she left without even saying goodbye. Any relationship for Kira is near to impossible, she has a job she signed up for, but can't talk about so just one night of hot sex with an Atlan like Angh is all she can have. The connection between Anghar and Kira is strong and sexy as hell but not to be. Although Anghar puts on his mating cuffs to help control his beast, Kira refuses her cuffs, her job is too demanding and cannot vow her loyalty and love to Angh, too many people's lives depend on the job she does, she is also a warrior in her job with the IC. The problems the couple have to overcome seem insurmountable but the Beast in Anghar
is gaining control and Anghar is at risk of going full on Beast. If Angh can't control his Beast he will have to be destroyed! My favorite line tells all you need to know,
It Wasn't The Destination Now It Was All About The Journey.
I LOVE THE COLONY! You will too, there is nothing like an Atlan in full Beast Mode and we get to see Anghar's Beast appear quite a few times, so exciting!

This is where the story opens with Kira and her student cadet and friend Melody a fellow Earthling about to watch a fighting match between an Atlan and a Prillon. Both are large, well-muscled and it looks to be a good match. Melody teases Kira that she can't keep her eyes from the Atlan "He's like an all-you-can-eat buffet". It's true, Kira can't seem to look away from the gorgeous male. When she and the crowd stand up and cheer them, Warlord Anghar turns to find her in the crowd. Their eyes lock onto each other, finding it difficult to look away. Angh originally thought to drag out the fight to give the crowd a good show, but he decides that he must meet and be with that woman who has caught his eye. His internal beast declares her as 'mine'. He takes one swing and the Prillon is knocked out. Angh then walks to the edge of the stands where Kira sits and motions for her to come down. She does and takes his hand. Together they leave the Fighting Pit behind. Each feels the strong pull towards each other. They walk away together. Thus begins a strong romance with many complications and dangerous situations.

This is one of Grace Goodwin's best stories. Well worth your time. There is quite a bit of hot steamy action, but it is an essential part of the story and not just stuck in there to attract readers. This is a story that will keep you in your seat turning pages late into the evening or night. I received this book as an advanced reader's copy. The decision to read and review was at my discretion. Grace Goodwin - Cyborg Fever (Interstellar Brides: The Colony Book 5)

Warlord Anghar is an Atlan who has been a secondary character in previous books, both courageous, loyal and sexy as hell it is awesome that he got his own story.

Leading a frustrating life on The Colony where “tainted” warriors that had been captured and altered by the Hive are forced to live, Angh has resigned himself to spend his time fighting in the “Pit”. His despair is further fueled by the lack of the Interstellar Bride program not finding him a mate and he had tested several years ago. If an Atlan goes unmated it will eventually lead to him shifting into his “Beast” (all Atlans can shift into a beast form).

Kira is an earth woman and a dedicated instructor at the Academy. She is also secretly part of the Coalition’s Intelligence. Kira loves her job and her ability to help save the many lives of those fighting The HIve. Kira is easy to like and admire, a sassy woman who knows what and who she wants and has no problem her sexuality.

As an instructor Kira is occasionally on The Colony for training assignments. Kira decides to attend a fight at the Pit when she sets her eyes on the giant sexy Atlan, she is even curious about what his beast will be like. He’s mesmerizing and when the Angh looks up from the fight his beast is awakened, it has found its’ mate.
Their first meeting will make fans of this series bodies tingle, it is a very erotic steamy sci-fi romance adventure that fits in well with the story. Their book storyline continues with spies, intrigue, danger, heart wrenching situations, heroism, humor and excitement. Fans of this authors Interstellar Bride series will be thrilled with this addition and it is always special when the warriors from The Colony find an HEA.

A great read that blew me away

Grace Goodwin has been on my TBR for a while now, and all I can say is, why in the world did I wait so long? Book 5 in the Interstellar Brides: The Colony series, this worked very well as standalone, but since there are characters from earlier stories, having read those books would have added to the enjoyment here.

I loved the toughness and honor Kira and Angh both had--they're both warriors and that comes through loud and clear. I loved the connection they had as well; it was a part of the story set-up I really enjoyed. The author did a great job of getting me emotionally invested in the story, plus there were plenty of plot threads to keep me engaged and to keep the story moving; this was a one-sitting read for me as I didn't want to put it down.

And whoa, there was a lot heat here, but it was not only entirely appropriate to the storyline, i never felt it was at the expense of other aspects of the story. Frankly, the amount of story and character development the author managed in a relatively short space, plus all the layers of world-building (something I'm always looking for in sci-fi or fantasy books) blew me away.

Characters and world-building, action and emotion, humor and lots of heat all made for a great read for me. I just finished and I'm dying to go back and read not only the earlier books in this series but the books from the two related series as well. I'm rubbing my hands in glee just thinking about it, though I doubt my bank balances will be thanking me, lol! 5 stars

I have a new favorite Atlan! I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series but the Atlan Beasts are my favorite aliens in the series.

Even though the blurb basically gives the whole story, it is Angh's heartbreaking words and thoughts that bring this story to life (and at one point had me crying - the freaking self-sacrificing Atlans at the Colony just rip my heart out and I am anxiously waiting for Braun to get his bride) . Even though Kira is hot to trot and jump the giant Atlan's bones, I wasn't as impressed by her as I have been by other brides (though she is a mate and not really a bride). Kira does prove herself worthy of such a fine Atlan in a couple of truly spectacular displays (one to Niobe and one to Angh). With the inclusion of several characters from both the Colony and Battleship Karter, we are given an even better picture of why the Coalition is fighting so hard to hold back the Hive. A couple of new and intriguing characters are introduced and as usual, they are written so well that it just makes you eagerly await their story.

Will fate bring them together and allow them to stay as mates or will their commitments and honor tear them apart?

Holy smokes, this book was intense! The emotions felt really raw, both with their honor bound duties, but also their despair, their love, their passion, and their commitment to helping others as well as to each other! Kira was such a warrior, having her own set of rules and pride, but I loved how she submitted everything to Angh. Angh was the perfect Atlan male, loving, supportive, dominant, beastly... swoon worthy! Everything he does is with his mate in mind. I loved that this book picked up aspects of previous books, such as events and characters, but had new plot lines to add and I already can’t wait to read the next Interstellar Brides book! I highly recommend this book and series!

Atlan Warrior Angh was saved by Seth Mills. But with the Hive implants on his body, he was sent to the Colony. He wanted to die. He didn’t expect to find a mate. But when he was in the pit ready to fight a Prillion, he found her. Kira and her friend Melody were there for the show. Kira is a Coalition Academy Instructor and also working for the IC. They go on mission that are deadly. When Kira and Angh spot each other, it was electric. Angh new she was his mate. Kira on the other had was just looking for a hook up” for the night. She didn’t know she was his mate. And when she went on a mission, Angh wanted to move the world to get her back.

You would think by now that all the human would know about the cuffs of an Atlan but I guess it is still not known by all. And I am glad that the males on the Colony are FINALLY getting some women. These guys are so deserving of it. Angh more so then any other. He fought a great deal. I was so worried about his when the Hive tech was implanted. But he was stronger than anyone that. Seth was the saving grace. But now with Kira, he will be whole. You know there will be a fight to get her back and to be mated.

The sex with the Atlan is hot and steamy as always. Who wouldn’t want an Atlan Warriors.

Every time I read one of Grace Goodwins books I am transported to another world that cherishes the women that enter their worlds, and this is another book that keep me up till the wee hours of the morning with love, lust, and a whole lot more and what’s not to love about an alien warlord that is your mate and perfect of you. Sign me up !. So in this book Kira Dahl is a coalition academy training officer teaching new cadets how to stay alive against the hive but she is also a intelligence core operative or IC and leaves on secret missions all the time. Going to the colony planet to train in the caves, while on some down time they all head the the fighting Pitts to watch and that’s where she meets Ahghar the Atlan warlord sentenced to the colony after being saved from the Hive but not before they put implants in his body so when he sees her he knows that she is his mate and much have her at all costs. What will happen now and does it all work out. Get the answers in this fantastic book you will love it just as I have with them all. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book for an honest review.

What can I add, after that attention-grabbing synopsis? Just that everything this synopsis hints at is delivered, times 100! This is one of those "can't put down until the end" reads! And the reader will be squirming throughout most of the book due to the explosive heat these two lead characters create.
On one hand you've got a kick-ass human female, who fights alongside Coalition forces, as well as teaching new cadets. On the other - an Atlan warrior who had been captured by the Hive, then rescued. Banished to The Colony for life due to the implants that were unable to be removed, Warlord Anghar has to fight not only the Atlan beast inside of himself, but worry about the "pieces" of his mind and soul the Hive could possibly still control. On top of all that, he has the burden of his species' Mating Fever - which triggers his inner beast, with no control over it.
This is a steamy sci-fi read with an uber alpha alien and smart, kick-ass human female that will push every "I love this" button the reader has!
Grace Goodwin has another hit on her hands!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series. And, it continues to gets better and better! This is also filled with a HOT, Alpha Dominant Male - Angh and a strong earth woman - Kira. These are stand alone, yet characters from the earlier books are mentioned and have integral parts in this story. Angh is an Atlan Warrior with Cyborg enhanced strength who has been broken in spirit due to being captured by the Hive. He is living on the Colony feeling useless, bored and his only relief is fighting in the pit. Kira is an instructor of the cadets at the coalition Academy but security works as part of the Intelligence core. Once, they meet the electricity flashes between them and they each want more time with one another but the impending threat of the Hive and their responsibilities impact on their relationship. Grace Goodwin writes a story that is well developed, her characters have depth and we care and love them. The story is a page turner from page one - filled with suspense, mystery, HOT romance, exciting sex scenes, and fast paced

From the moment Warlord Anghar was mention in the previous book, I've wanted to hear his story and I was so glad when I finally got it.

I enjoyed how he met Kira and how their relationship developed. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it because it seemed they were both doomed to be honor-bound and duty-filled, willing to toss away everything that they wanted. I found myself wanting to smack both of them. I understood the sentiment, but it grated on my nerves. I liked Kira's character. She was strong and confident and I liked knowing that she could take care of herself. Obviously, I loved Angh's character. There's just something about a beast of a man with such a huge vulnerability. I especially loved when he went beast mode!

Ultimately, I enjoyed the book, but I also felt like it was somewhat anticlimactic. There was strife, but nothing truly unexpected happened. Regardless, I look forward to more from this series.

I enjoyed this next read from Grace Goodwin. I find her books to have this addicting quality, and this one was no different. I love her characters and how the characters get swept up in their own romances.

The Hive is such a formidable enemy, and the way Grace Goodwin portrays it makes it entirely frightening. In this book, both lovers jump straight into battle with the Hive, and it added a constant state of danger.

There was one ingredient that seemed to be missing from this one. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but it was a bit like tacos without all the seasoning. I love tacos regardless, but something with the plot left me wanting a touch more from the plot and the characters.

Cyborg Fever had several different qualities from Goodwin's other reads too, which was interesting to read. Anghar and his lover meet not through the Bride Program but on the Colony, so it was entirely different. Watching Anghar go after what he wanted was awesome.

This series just keeps getting better. From the Interstella Brides, to the Virgins, and this one is from the series The colony, I can't get enough. All three series are a part of a whole, which is a fantastic and amazing tale of Aliens, humans, their strength, their fight against evil, and their ability to find love while they fight for the future of the Alliance. And that includes earth. Kira is from earth, she has an important part to play in the war against the hive. Anghar is Atlan, his body holds himself and his "beast". He was captured and tortured by the hive until his rescue. Hive parts are now integrated into him, and now he will use them against the hive. This story is about Anghar and Kira, their love and how they come together not just as mates but as soldiers in the Hive war. Extremely hot sex scenes and the ability to conquer everything for love.

The writing is great and I connected easily with the characters.
