Windmera is completely unlike any of the other historical romances this author has written. I never expected the ending and the whole story just blew me away. I'm already anticipating the release of the next book so I can see what is going to happen next. I'm sure it will leave me with my mouth hanging open yet again. I highly recommend this read.

Great

A roller coaster ride. This one will get you. It has passion, hatred, conniving, scheming. It has sex.
The characters are great. I liked them all except for one, she is a wicked lady.
This book is a cliffhanger.
It has twists and turns.

This book was crazy, and I'm a little ashamed to say I kind of enjoyed it. Not the typical romance with a happy ending.

REVIEW
This book took me by surprise. I have read all the historical books by this author but this one was very different.
We have Sara who is determined to marry for wealth. Although to make that happen she has to ruin a friendship and much more.
Godwin is a good man he has taken control of his family' estate after losing everyone. He wants to fill his home with love and children and seeks to do just that however it's not all it's suppose to be with his choice in women.
He from the get go takes fancy to one woman although he ends up with Sara and quickly learns of her lies and deciet.

What will become of this couple who are not even friends?
Can Godwin ever have a great love? A happy life?
So much takes place and it will keep you on your seat reading it.

Mmm

I'm not one for sagas and this is the beginning of one. Despicable behaviour by a greedy malicious debutante should have put me off but thankfully a turn in the story, a much needed one came along. Not convinced I like the way this is going. Not one for Poldark Thorn Birds or Dallas and just blatant nastiness.
This offering is alright if you like that sort of thing but it is not for me.
Won't be reading the next chapter. I have a feeling I know where it's going.

Doubtful Decision

This is an excellent read about a young man being manipulated by a scheming young woman. And when her scheming doesn't work completely she goes for treachery. This book has a cliffhanger that will have you anticipating what's next. Waiting for part two... Enjoy I did.

I really enjoyed the story. No errors that I can remember. The story flowed well. Did not expect the ending when I first started the story. Not your typical happily ever ending.

Also not anything about the story but a pet peev for me, when I got the book there was no sign of it being part of a series, one of the reasons I selected it, once in a while I like to read stand alones. As I'm nearing the end of the story something happens that can not be finished by the end of the book with only a few pages left, the story leaves in a sort of a cliffhanger and after looking I find out that there are two more books in the series and their not even labeled as to which to read first or which book comes next! So Peeved!

Wow, a fantastic read. What a manipulating bitch Sara is, she will go to any lengths to have her way. Godwin seemed to fall so easily for Sara’s lies, only to Rue the day he set eyes on her. Enter the vibrant red haired Heather and the plot thickens, nothing runs smoothly for poor Godwin and Heather, not with Sara having her station in life threatened. The women is ruthless. Life takes an unexpected turn. The story has me on the edge of my seat and routing for Heather.
Starting the next book as the story continues.

WOW!! This book blew me away, so different from her other Historical Romances and so emotionally charged. Was excellently written and had me on the edge of my seat until the end! Exceptional storyline and characters (there is one I really despised!). Has passion, intrigue, heartache (have some tissues ready), suspense and an unexpected ending. I so highly recommend this book and eagerly awaiting the next one!!

Evil in place of love

Sara wanted Godwin from Lisa and would do anything and everything to have him. Even set her best friend with her cousin. Sara was evil when she married Godwin she only wanted money and title. The was no love. Her child wasn't Godwin's but he would love him. When he met Heather he knew he would be happy. Until Sara and her evil ways made it impossible. Heather will start a new with Maurice.

Lord Godwin of Ravensbury’s fell in love with Heather Martin after being manipulated by his wife to marry while she carried another mans child. Though he never thought he would do all he could to get a divorce, Though his cunning wife got
miss Heather kidnapped & sold to Keed her away from Godwin.
Lord Godwin of Ravensbury’s lost the love of his life while she was carrying his child.
I don't like two part story. Especially when there is no HEA.

Lost Love

Well written except books written before 1940 should not use the F word for sex as it was an acronym first used at that time. If one writes a period book use proper wording. The book has love, adventure, and loss.

This book is full of lies & deceit, passion and heart break. I just wanted to get rid of Sara myself. My heart broke for Godwin. Heather goes threw a lot. I really enjoyed this book. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Always loved Claudy Conn's books

Sadly this book was deeply disappointing. Very slow from beginning to end. Kept thinking it would get better, but, the storyline was awful. Can't imagine book 2 would be any better. The characters had no real depth not like her other books.

One of the best EVER

To be honest, I didn't expect to finish this book. I am in a reading stump and nothing was catching my interest. But I knew Claudy wouldn't let me down. Book one was one of her best yets!

Story line was intriguing, luring you to reed further. But it felt as if the story was rushed and squeezed in...

Great story

From the beginning I was hooked and can’t wait to read the next book to see how the story unfolds. If you love historical books this series is a must read.

An interesting story with the potential to be really good if only it wasn’t for some strange sentences and some historical inaccuracies.

Betrayed in the worst way

Sara was one horrible person. She betrayed her only friend, because all she cared about was money and a title. She schemed and lied about everything.

This Historical Romance was different. More dark. A scheming teenage girl taking her lies into marriage. She stopped at nothing. Betrayal after betrayal. True love happens and well there's just no limit of how far a bad woman will go or how far a good woman will go to protect. This book was REALLY good! Love and destiny will always find a way.
