The Curse of Avalon #2

Inevitable Lib/E

Rate this book
MP3 CD Format A few short weeks ago, I knew exactly who I Ava Dawson, a woman with a surprising magical ability, a daughter, a friend, and invisible to men.

Now? Everything has changed. The only family I've ever known? Betrayed me. My best friend lives clear across the city, and I seem to have the favor of four gorgeous, reluctant incubi. That complicates things a bit.

Also, I have this powerful magic coursing through my the power of the mythical isle of Avalon. It's real, I promise—I feel it every day.

If I don’t learn how to control it, I might just end up hurting the people closest to me. Mathias, Trystan, Bash, and Xander are the new sworn protectors of Avalon—me. They're powerful, but this magic? Might be more so.

I'm resisting the magic and trying to figure out who I am again.

Losing my control? It's probable. Losing my heart, split among four gorgeous men? Yeah, I'm sure it's only inevitable.

Contains mature themes.

**Update** ALL "Curse" books will be on audio; Invisible and Inevitable are already available, Insatiable is in production and should be available by year's end, and Invincible will be available a couple of months after release. **

Sariah Skye physically resides with her family in southern Minnesota but mentally everyone is pretty sure she’s from Uranus. She’s a typical quirky Aquarian that swears too much, loves wine, shiny objects, and hates sarcasm and never, ever uses it.
She also loves Star Trek, Doctor Who, ‘90s reruns, and Imagine Dragons (probably a little too much).
In addition to all this oddity she’s an unprofessional obsessive fangirl, loves reading, hates anything domestic, and loves her pretty pink straitjacket. Oh, and she loves to chat with her unwilling kidnappees—err, “fans”, online at various places, like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram .Or drop her an email at sariahskyeauthor@gmail.com or private message her on Facebook.
She also has a private group called the Shenanigan Squad for anyone who might possibly want to follow her works, progress, or just share a silly meme war (though she really doesn’t understand why anyone is there, she loves them all nevertheless). If you want to join, you’re more than welcome:

Great second book

This is the 2nd book in the series and is as good as the first one. Avalon is a fantastic character. She is strong and is learning about her new world.

There were surprises and questions still unanswered but not a cliffhanger which I really like. It leaves you wanting more.

I would definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one.

Good story

I gave it 4 stars for a couple reasons. It started off slow and kinda boring. However it did get alot better in the middle and near the end. I'm really disappointed we didn't get to read about her "sexy" time with the 3 other guys. I feel like that should have been included in the end. Maybe in book 3?

Great way to follow-up on an amazing new RH series by Sariah Skye!! In this book, we get to see Avie battle her new powers that she is forced to deal with after the events ending Book 1. She has to deal with her newly discovered Dad, new enemies, and hurting her guys whenever she gets to heated up/intimate with them (which would totally put a cramp in anyone's love life!).

We finally get to see Avie's walls come down, little by little, with each of the guys. Mathias was my absolute favorite in Book 1, but now Xander and him are tied haha. Don't get me wrong, love Trystan and Bash too, but I love how teddy bear Mathias is and how romantic and adorable Xander is with Avie. I can't wait to see what happens with Bash, he didn't get as much as a spotlight in this book, especially with this relationship with Avalon. I am intrigued by some of the things happening to him, maybe we get to see more of that/have some questions answered in Book 3 coming out in a couple weeks!

It was tough for me not to give this book a 5 star. I think one of my favorite things to read in romantic relationships is the first time the characters shed their walls and are intimately connected with one off the guys. We got to see that with 2 of the 4 guys, but it was skipped over for the other 2 and by the end she had been intimate with all of them and getting lots of it. I still love this story and hope we get some of that insight/POVs in future books. If they do, I will come here and change my review. I love RH books because you get to see a person connect with different personalities, different aspects of someone. All in all, a person gets what they need from them as a unit (be it humor, protectiveness, dorkiness, alpha, etc.). I just felt I had missed out on the 2 guys that Avie had been with that we didn't get to read about.

I still wholeheartedly love this series and would recommend it to all my friends of RH. I cannot wait for this book to be in audio, will be snatching that one up immediately haha. Come on July, I need more!!!

Avalon meet Avalon

Where book 1 left off is where book 2 begins.

Avalon now houses the magic of Avalon the mysterious island/women/realm/whatever. Where her magic was cheap Christmas lights before now it is like like focusing a taser inside a donkey kick. This is making smexy times with her incubi very difficult. How can she move past her past if her progress is frying and bruising the guys? Being immortal means they are willing to look past the bumps, bruises and blisters but it sure puts a damper on her mood. And there's still the fact of her missing mom, the evil witch. And dealing with her recently discovered dad, who's hiding secrets of his own. Seriously, can anyone of her family come straight with her? Stress keeps piling up in the form of an unexpected inheritance, mysterious and vaguely (possibly threatening) notes only she can read and who the hell keeps messing with Bash's wards?

Ava keeps her snark, which I love. Her emotional growth takes some hits and watching her struggles to regain list ground was hard but understanable. Her mother's betrayal was a severe blow. It takes control to use her new abilities and since she was cracked open again she has to take some time to piece herself back together. Luckily the guys come to the realization, with Summer's help, that although she's there that doesn't mean they don't have to woo her. Them showing her their support and affection goes a long way towards her wholeness. There are some hysterical scenes that I laughed over but would be total spoilers so I won't share. I'm just happy that Ava is still Ava in this sequel. So many authors change tones but Ava keeps her spark. This was a much anticipated sequel and I'm thrilled to say it not only kept up with the 1st it matched it wonderfully. I just hope that the gentle glossing over of events at the end becomes something the reader gets to go back and visit, maybe with some more detail (please?) in the 3rd book. It's only fair lol.

An absolutely addicting a fun filled read!!

I've long been a fan of the King Arthur mythos.... I can honestly say this is the newest and most unique take yet. Avie is still trying to get a hold of her magic.... As such she is keeping her romantic distance from the guys lest she harm them in some way. To say it's NOT the easiest of tasks is an understatement! All kinds of fun crazy happens in this book....oh, and good ol' dad, aka Lancelot ISN'T as up front as he appears. Surprise, surprise he too has a mass of secrets he's keeping from his beloved daughter. Is he as bad as her mother, or just misguided? We also get to meet another great character from the King Arthur saga... RHYS... More commonly known as Merlin. Oh my this series is absolutely delicious... All kinds of magic, secrets, spunky and strong female leads, hunky guys and a wacky wizard. Let's just say the stories of Arthur and Camelot are NOT the same as we all know and love... All in all this is a really fun read!! Adventure, mysteries, family, portals, good vs evil, hunky guys and one heckuva spirited and strong female lead star in this amazing book. Fair warning though... It WILL leave you wanting more, more, more!! You probably could read this without having read book 1, it I don't recommend it. It's always best to have the complete back story... Plus it's just it so fun to read everything you can about these crazy characters! I look forward to seeing how much stronger Ava gets with her powers... I'm certain there's a lot more adventures to come!

Inevitable, book 2 of The Curse of Avalon was a great follow up to the first book, Invisible.
Picking up a few weeks after book 1, Ava is recovering from the trauma and betrayal of her mother and learning about her abilities and how to control her new powers from her father. She's also getting a lot closer to the guys, but something is holding her back, be it her powers or her doubts about their feelings for her.
In this book we get more background and insight into the Arthurian Legend. Ava learns more about Avalon and even "meets" some relatives who aren't crazy/evil like her mom. We're also introduced to a few new characters from Camelot, one crazy (not in a bad way as far as I can tell) and one who seems to be a sociopath.
This story was a great continuation of The Curse of Avalon series. Ava gets closer to the guys and their relationships develop a lot more than we saw in book 1. She also comes to terms with their feelings for her and gets over her insecurities regarding that. I can't wait to see how their relationships further progress, and what happens with Camelot. Hopefully book 3 will be out soon!

Book 2 picks up shortly after the first book, so they do need to be read in order.

I really loved the twists toward the end of this book, with Camelot and Arthur. There is a bit of uncertainty as to who the bad guy really is, who is after Ava, and who can be trusted. Very fun.

I had a little more trouble getting into this book than I did the first though. It was a little slower going until about halfway through, and, for me, Ava was really hard to connect with. I liked her much more in the first book when she was all sass with an "I can take care of myself" attitude. She straight up refuses to simply communicate with the guys in this book and it drove me crazy. They try constantly and she acts like child about it. Insecurity is one thing, but this just got annoying for me. She still had some sass, but it seemed more forced and was outweighed by the moody, whiny Ava.

The end really saved this book for me because we finally for passed Ava's lack of communication and into some real story. The twists and turns of the last third or so of the book were really interesting and make me want to read the next book.

So book 2 has me hanging on for more, that's no lie! I loved the development of the characters and the glimpse's of what is to come in the series.

The reason for the lack of 5 stars? I found that with the two week gap we missed a lot of Ava's relationship progression with Bash, Mathias and Xander. You get the reasoning, she no longer felt the need to be cautious and the guys were ready, able and more than willing to give'r. So it's more like a 4.5 stars for me. Maybe it's because I enjoyed seeing Ava let loose with Trystan. Her struggles and how he made her feel. And I was interested to see how the other 3 made her feel in different ways as they are all so different! All Omegas with Alpha moments. I think that was my favorite line and explained the guys perfectly and had me hopeful for the details of the intimacy.

Overall I'm looking forward to continuing the series. I like that there's no major cliff hanger that leaves you cursing the author. I love Skye's work and look forward to reading more!

Loved it!

So good! Full of magic and wonder and smokin hot incubi! Cant get much better right? Add in a kick ass heroine and some wicked good humor, and the result is this book. I was doubled over with laughter within the first few paragraphs of this book, seriously! I was laughing so hard that my husband was wondering what in the world was so funny, so i read him the first couple pages aloud. Now, it has both me and my husband losing it! It just pulls you in, right from the very beginning and doesn't let up. That's a great quality in a book, and i most definitely recommend reading this book! There was finally a complete sex scene in this book, as the first book only had some one sided fun in it, and there was no M/M action & no group scenes in this book(but im holding out hope for book 3). Which by the way, if you havent yet figured it out, Inevitable is book #2 in The Curse of Avalon series by Sariah Skye.

The second book in the Curse of Avalon series starts with a Ava coming to terms with some heavy stuff; a new unstable magic forced upon her, a father she never knew now in her life, the harsh betrayal of her mother and four sexy incubi she can’t keep her hands off... if only her Avalonian magic didn’t react in an explosive way with them.

Ava is feeling insecure and a bit adrift. Wondering if all four guys really want her for her... or her magic? Things heat up in the best way with Ava and her guys as she works through the trauma she’s been through. She makes some new friends and more secrets are brought to light.

Love Ava’s ‘internal monologue’, snark and sass. Can’t wait for the next book and to learn of Ava and her knights of the square table future adventures! Get this book now!

Great book!

If you’re looking to read about a strong-willed independent female, you found her! Ava is a little bitchy, extremely sassy, and definitely does NOT like being a damsel in distress! She definitely has spunk and it shows in her interactions with the guys. As for them, you can’t help but adore each and every one! Mathias, Bash, Xander, and Trystan are all super swoony and the perfect book boyfriends! This book picks up a couple weeks after the first book and concentrates on Ava trying to figure out the powers of Avalon she now has as well as work on some of her insecurities - which the guys definitely want to help with!! The plot is interesting and revelations will be made to keep you on your toes. Be sure to read this!

"That's MY thing!"

Avalon, the snarky heroine, with her harem of incubi, is undergoing some personal development while figuring out how to cope with the magic of Avalon, the island. The dynamics between the characters are superbly done, with emotions and thoughts reflecting the nuances of ordinary people, even if Ava and her boys are far from ordinary. Sarah Skye blends character building and plot developing so well that one does not detract from another, which happens far too often in books. I also love that, even though magic exists, not everything is just accepted- the characters, Bash in particular, want the facts and explanations.

This second installment is fantastic! It's even better than the first.
I really enjoy the character of Ava. She is strong, smart, and sassy. She is a great MC. Watching her relationships with her men unfold has been so much fun. I enjoy the interplay between her and the guys.
The twists onto standard Arthurian lore is so entertaining. The author brings new light on these characters, and how they really are. It's a fun look at a common mythology.
Overall, this was a super engaging book, and a fantastic new series. I cannot wait to see what happens next in Ava's story.

Very little happens in this book. Other than Avalon messing around with a whole bunch of men and then whining because her powers come out and she can't control them.

Literally over and over and over again to the point where I was BEYOND bored.

She won't practice using her magic for the first half of the book because she might hurt someone. She just cries about it. She's everything I hate in an fmc.

We get some (?) answers, I guess, near the end, but I'm still entirely confused. So… book 3. Counting on you, I guess.

Ava is back and trying to figure out how to deal with the magic of Avalon and her four new men. There was a lot of drama and mystery. We learn more about Lancelot and morgaine. I really liked how all of the men were with ava. They were all more concerned with her feelings and struggles then their own. I also felt for ava with her self esteem issues. She and the men never really had a talk about what was going on between them. I enjoyed this book more then the first.

Solid

I like the reimagining of the Camelot story. I didn't particularly like Ava as much I'm this story. Her lack of communication with her men frustrated me to no end. The guys tried to get her to open up MULTIPLE TIMES but she kept shrugging them off, causing unneeded problems.

There were also a few errors in the book, nothing major. Just a missing word here or there, things like that.

💜❤️💜❤️💜

We get see the relationship between Ava and the guys really expand and grow in this installment. I love the barn retreat it's something I would love to have for myself - the sexy time was hot! So many secrets get revealed and we find out about the mysteries of Camelot and more about Avalon - I really enjoyed this new perspective. And I totally called it for who was 'coming to help' haha 👌. Totally recommend this series!

It took more than a week to finish this book. Mostly I kept losing interest as I felt it was too unbalanced both in terms of plot and relationship development. It was so slow in roughly the first two thirds of the book and then it picked up the pace but much too quickly (too many details were missing or were omitted). I actually lost interest in the rest of the series. Also I was not enamored with the heroine, she was just off I guess.

OMG I am totally in love with this author and everything she's written! Really loved this book and cannot wait for more. It is so great when a book starts out by making you laugh! This one certainly did. The development of the story and characters was just fantastic and again, I just cannot wait to read the continuation!

Lots if twists and turns. New truths are revealed. This is a really great read and I can't wait for the next book.

Brilliant sequel

I really am enjoying this series it’s got a unique story line and the RH relationship works well without overpowering the story. Ava is a great main character with a sassy attitude and a kind heart that works well with the guys personalities. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the next book takes readers 😁

Lets hope Amazon pays for the pages I read

Losing faith in Amazon big time. Sariah is not a page stuffer so should get paid for this which imo was excellent. Ava is starting and sassy...what happened to the times between the others tho? We need sandwiches haha. Seriously the book was good so Amazon, pay up.

So unique. Must read series

I absolutely love these books. It's such a different turn of books. The guys are awesome. And I love how the main character is described as being curvey which is not seen very much. The banter is awesome and I love how the toilet travesties vary on through the book like a inside joke.

Inevitable Was Absolutely Fantastic!

No spoilers!
Oh my goodness this series just keeps getting better and better!
I’m literally kept sitting on the edge of my seat in suspense with each book that I read.
So yes I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read the first book then I highly suggest that you do!

Slower pace

The story is still great, but I feel like this second book is at a much slower pace than the first one. I know it’s needed for the story to progress accordingly, but Ava’s self doubt and insecurities dragged on a bit too long for my liking. Still, after reading everything, it did make sense and the story moved on and progressed to what’s next.

Such a great book!

Boring title, I know...but I can't help it. This book was fantastic. We get to see so much personality, funny situations, all the wooing drama and angst one could want. With some interesting new characters, plot twists, and so many unanswered questions I am on pins and needles waiting to binge the next book. No sleep for me! I HAVE to know what happens next!

I really enjoyed reading this book. Ava and the boys fall more in sync in this novel, a few paranormal feats reemerge, and it's still got plenty of twists to keep you craving more. I'd recommend this book to fans of RH, incubus protectors, wielders of magic and romance.
