Running from her powers, Zelia finds herself in lands she had never planned on and around people she doesn’t want to hurt. When her path turns to what used to be home, will she return or will she flee? Find out where this side story takes Zelia in Zelia’s Lost path.
A side story from the original series titled Zelia.
A young author with one foot in the forest, Zora Marie is constantly pushing to write epic stories full of magic, love, and loss. Often times her stories are inspired by bits and pieces of her own past that are then cast into the worlds of fae and magical beings, so there is darkness but there is light too.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community herself, many of her characters fall on the spectrum too. She feels the fantasy genre often lacks representation, and while she may not be perfect, she’s always pushing to be more inclusive.
While the idea for Zelia as a character is interesting and the storyline is good, I just couldn't get into the story at all. I think it's a combination of the writing and the narrator. The narrator was quite flat, not making exciting or emotional parts exciting or emotional. But the main problem is the way the story is written. While Zelia is probably an interesting character, I feel nothing for her, he pain, losses... I'm indifferent to it all. I can easily get emotionally involved and invested in a story, so something is off here with the character development.
I found this to be a great introduction to Zelia and the world she lives in. Seeing the powers she has and how she is still struggling to control them sets the stage for a very interesting adventure.
A fantastic world created by Zora Marie. I’m looking forward to Zelia’s future adventures.
Georgie Leonard’s performance was well done and entertaining.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Nice to get more of the story and meet additional characters in this story. Narrator did good job with voices of the characters. Definitely a read After the original story or a person would become lost or at least not get the gist of the story.
This was a great little short story in the timeline of Zelia's adventures. Once again, I found the characters well developed and interesting. A wonderful sideline to the primary Zelia book.
