Her heart is racing. I see a flash of fear in her eyes, that moment when a woman who’s never been with a man like me hears something she’s never heard. Like, "I’m in charge."

Some women didn’t like giving up control, any of it, and I respected that. Some of them, though? That fear turned into pure desire. They’d hear me say those things and realize they loved the idea of giving up control, of putting me in charge.

I stare at her eyes and wait. Which kind of woman will Breton Guillaume be?

* * *

Teague West never expected he'd be so attracted to a student, much less act on those feelings—but it's falling in love with Breton that really catches him off-guard. As their relationship blooms in secrecy, he teaches Breton the ins and outs of his fantasies, and she's all too eager to learn.

Breton has never met anyone like Professor West: mild by day, wild by night, and awakening desires in her she didn't know existed. She believes him when he says he’s a widower…until she finds a bill addressed to Jennifer West. And she’s seen the wedding band he still wears around his neck, shimmering from a braided leather cord.

With her roommate by her side, Breton is determined to find out the truth about Teague—even if it means giving him up forever.

Received for honest review. The whole prof/student has been done a thousand times. This story however had a little twist that could have set it apart from the rest. Unfortunately, any major issues that came up were quickly glossed over, and the main focus was on the sex. It lacked depth and the characters were one dimensional. If it was just the run of the mill forbidden thing, it would have been fine. But since there was a very serious issue brought in, it should have gone deeper. It didn’t. Instead it wrapped up as quickly as it started. I wanted to like it. I’ve liked other books with the same premise, but this one fell short in my opinion.

Teach Me pretty much follows the typical teacher-student trope- – but there’s a bit of drama that happens to be unique.

After already sleeping with Teague West, her professor, Breton Guillame hears he’s married. She does the expected ‘I can’t face him so I’m going to avoid class forever until the end of time’ routine, but then Teague leaves her little choice but to tell him what’s wrong. Breton accuses him of being married and he claims his wife is ‘gone’, and Breton takes that to mean that she’s dead, and Teague later confirms that yes, his wife is dead and then promptly changes the subject. They continue sleeping together under the radar until Breton finds a bill in Teague’s house addressed to a Jennifer West. Being 19 years-old and rightfully not trusting Teague to give her an honest answer, she and her roommate concoct a plan to find out the truth.

The characters weren’t well-developed, and they came off as shallow and, in Teague’s case, selfish. I never got their attraction. Their chemistry was lukewarm, and they jump at it so fast (within the first 24 hours of knowing each other) that it just seemed like a stupid decision they were making and not a need that they could no longer fight.

The issue with Teague’s wife didn’t endear me to him.

The pace is slow and unsteady. The plot is rushed when it comes to the important things, and kind of drags on with the unnecessary drama. And then the big to-do happens and after one short conversation, all is fine.

If you’re looking for a teacher-student romance with some steam and passion, I would take a pass on this one. If you want a story with a uniqueness for drama, then read away.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Review: Teach Me by Piper Lennox

Teach Me was an enjoyable read. I like a good student-teacher trope now and again and I really enjoyed that some of the taboo stigma was wiped away from that part of the story. It didn't feel so illicit as it was written, and that's a change from other books I've read in this vein. I felt that the taboo lay elsewhere in this plot. Even though this coupling technically falls into insta-love/lust it felt somewhat more rational, and therefore believable, here in Teach Me.
The book was relatively short, and I admit to having a difficult go with shorter stories. They often leave me feeling like something was missing. I do believe that the same happened here, but only because I saw room for expansion. Weeks were jumped over, at the beginning of the relationship, where it would have been beneficial to show Breton and Teague falling in love instead of telling the reader that it is so. This story had some (very enjoyable) explicit sex scenes, but I had the impression that sex was the focus and not the romance because we missed out on that emotional build.
Breton showed some nice growth over the story, though it happens in a condensed period of the book. Her growth hangs on the “twist”. Teague was an interesting hero and I liked his back-story. Again, I wish I had gotten to know them more before before the conflict. It would have made things more bittersweet, which I get the sense is what the author was going for.
All in all, I enjoyed the sweet and sexy read and will look for more books by this author.

Note: A free copy of this book was given to me by Hidden Gems Books in exchange for my review.

2.5 rounded up because it wasn't truly disappointing enough to round down.

Temptation is sweet, giving in is sweeter. At least it is for Breton and Teague. Finding one another when they least expect it puts them in a precarious situation but neither one of them are willing to give up the connection they share. What they give each other is sensually satisfying but it's the deeper feelings that offers salvation and threatens ruin that keep them tethered.

Breton isn't sure what she wants for her future. Parental pressure is pushing her in two different directions but neither of them feel right. A relatively new interest in art history, however, isn't all about the art, it's also about the hot teacher. She's interested, sure, but there's something more that calls to her.

Teague is intrigued by the feisty, strong, intelligent young woman in his class. Everything she does draws him deeper and deeper into his infatuation and it doesn't take long for both of them to give in to temptation. Feelings mount and their sensual fantasies made real sink them deeper into something neither of them expected.

When Teague's past proves to be not so in the past and Breton and her roommate do what they must to uncover the truth they know he's hiding it could spell their end with a roar or a sigh, it all depends on what they reveal.

The story seemed interesting because of the dual nature that Teague presents. He was shy with his advances, not at all like the uber confident, cocky, arrogant professors I've read in other stories. In fact, his stuttering and tripping over himself was endearing. Then throw in the fact that his particular brand of kink is not only what Breton truly desires but that it's all about her pleasure? I'm sold. I also loved how Breton wasn't willing to let his avoidance and side-stepping stand. The first scene with her walking out of the classroom, their intelligent chats, her speaking up in class with insight and thought, all of that made for a young yet confident woman that I could grow to like very much.

The story stagnated around 2/3 for me with so much vacillation that I was hoping I could skim to get back to the point of the story. There were a ton of intense sexual moments and that was fine, but it seemed like the confident woman was slowly taking a back seat to the one who couldn't confront Teague with what she heard and call him on his evasions. Teague's unwillingness to be truthful was both intensely frustrating and heartbreakingly understandable. I saw where he was coming from but it's always when you avoid a specific situation with mounting lies that that's exactly the outcome you're creating. Both of those things drove the plot forward, but it took too long to get there for me. The angst could have been truncated and the story would have been stronger.

While I was pretty happy with the beginning, the middle frustrated and the very end was a bit disappointing. The end was more of an HFN hinting at a future HEA but we were left in the middle of the school-fix situation, a still uncertain future for Breton's educational goals, an emotional reveal about Jennifer from Breton, and some vague mentions, not even promises, of what Teague saw for their future. So what started off strong ended kind of meh. I'd read more from this author even though this wasn't an awesome book for me because there was potential despite Teach Me not living up to it.

Teacher/student is one of my favorite romance tropes and I felt like after the first couple of chapters this one had promise. Unfortunately, this promise ended up not being fulfilled for me. It was a quick read with only a couple of copyedit type errors in the whole thing, which I appreciated, but I felt the every portion of the story was too quick/underdeveloped. I liked the insta-lust, but the almost immediate love was not felt by me as a reader, with the time they spent together glossed over by single sentences telling us they had connected over two hours of conversation or two weeks of hanging out.

Some of the sex was different/more interesting than is typical in terms of facts but I never felt any tension or heat during them; and Teague is sort of Dominant-lite, which kind of led to me feeling like I'd prefer it if he either is or isn't, though obviously in real life people are all over the spectrum so it may be realistic to be portrayed that way. I didn't have a problem with his "secret" or think bad of him for it, though I think some readers might. What did bother me was Breton's reaction both times she thought she had caught him in a lie.....I know she is a young woman but the immaturity of her behavior was extremely off-putting to me, especially given their so-called connection.

Teacher student affair with budding D/s where she loves that he gradually becomes more dominating and more daring. Some hurdles to overcome but a happy ending is guaranteed and good sex scenes in between. As you can see from other reviews, some versions of this type of story may contain more depth, but a lot of them are far worse. After I picked it up, I did not put it down, until it was finished!

To Have💘 and Have Not💔

Breton💋📑 is a college student. She has a new professor, Teague West🐺, for Art History. He's a sexy beast🐺🍆🌋, tall, ripped💪, handsome, smart and well spoken, and young!.
Teague🐺🍆🌋 knows it's against the rules for professors to have personal relationships with students. He would lose his job if caught, but he and Breton💋📑 have such a connection💘 to each other.
He is a dominant, he likes to have control over everything they do in the bedroom. So he makes up lots of rules, but most of them are for their own safety, so they don't get caught by a Professor or another student.
Breton💋📑 spends a lot of time sneaking around to see Teague🐺🍆🌋, but he's definitely worth it!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

ARC Received from HG for a Voluntary and Honest Review.

I liked this book, it was well written and a real page turner for me. I knew Teague🐺🍆🌋 was hiding something from Breton💋📑, but at the same time, he was totally and completely in 💘love with her.
I know this genre is as common as Billionaire novels, but I still liked the book.

Not often I would read a Professor-Student love book, but thought I would give this a go after reading the plot.

Breton and Teague started off rocky with her walking out of class after him mocking her name. Even though they know their relationship is forbidden, they seem to not be able to stop seeing each other.
When Breton finds out about Teague and how he had lied to her (a white-lie?) it pissed me off (mad at him). But as the woman Breton is she doesn't just up and walk away - No she fights and starts digging in Teague's history to discover what and why he lied to her.
The question is can to people like Breton and Teague work through this and make to the other end of the tunnel together?
I really enjoyed the book and the characters, it contained stuff that you see in your everyday life - consequences and choices to make, some of which can be painful and life changing.

I liked this student/teacher love story a lot. It's sweet and sexy and kind of sad. Neither Breton nor Teague deliberately set out to seduce the other in this forbidden student/teacher romance. They have a mutual attraction that they find they can't walk away from even amid the danger of discovery or the rumors that Teague has a wife somewhere. The author manages to make the characters sympathetic as well as likable and their love story is believable. This is my first book by this author but I am looking forward to reading more.

I love student/professor romance, mostly due to the forbidden aspect of it. I liked this book. While the sex was hot as heck, I just didn’t love this book.
Pros: Storyline had some different elements, especially with Teague’s secret. The sex was insanely hot!
Cons: I just felt like Breton was a bit immature. Instead of not going to classes for a few days and avoiding Teague, she could have just asked him what was going on. Yes, he might not have been completely forthcoming but staying in the dorm crying was a bit ridiculous.

A Review of Teach Me by Piper Lennox

Teague and Breton - 4 Stars

Another taboo relationship between a teacher and a college student. While Teague is more than happy to teach Breton about dominance and submission and she falls hard and fast for him, there are secrets that have the ability to ruin everything, even if they don't get caught. With twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this was a beautiful storyline.

I read this book in one day because I was hooked in the beginning and I wanted to know how it ended! Having a relationship with a teacher had to be a secret in the first place but feeling like the teacher has another secret on top of that is frustrating Breton! She is opening up and exploring her sexuality with Teague but that doesn't make her totally forget the rumors of him having a wife. This is a fun, sexy adventurous and twisty story!! I recommend this read! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This plot had so much potential. It needed more development including the characters. The bedroom chemistry was off the charts but the rest of it left me cold. I couldn't relate to the characters at all. While I understood where Teague was coming from, it still didn't make it right. I loved how Breton started off strong and then disappointed when she fell flat. With that being said, I did enjoy reading the book I just didn't like or love it. I would read this author again in the future.

I liked the take Piper Lennox took on the age-old story about a college teacher and one of their students hooking up against all the rules of propriety as well as those of the institution. I liked all the sneaking around, trying to keep it secret, and of course, there was lots and lots of hot juicy sex between them. At its heart, it was also a very touching love story with all its heartwrenching and feel good moments. This is a rather late voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books..

Okay...we usually love those teacher/student romances. So what happened with Teach Me? The storyline is good; the characters seemed a bit too shallow; but the plot twist stinks. The way Teague’s secret is presented is just wrong. To use a spouse’s dementia as an excuse for sex with a student just seems beyond inappropriate and not a good ploy in a romance novel. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and did not enjoy it at all.)

This is the romantic story of Breton and Teague. Teague is a professor and Breton is his student. They begin a steamy relationship that is explosive. Teaque is a split personality in many ways - shy in the classroom and demanding in the bedroom. Lots of hidden secrets and no shortage of drama. No spoiler but this is a good read with no shortage of hot and steamy scenes. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

I read this book for an honest review.

The book has mild taboo topics if age difference & professor-student relationships all while touching on a tiny bit of BDSM. The storyline has a unique twist which sets it apart from other professor-student books. The main characters are well written & the chemistry is strong between them. Several parts of the book could have been expanded on to further develop the storyline. Overall, great book.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange of a review. I enjoyed the steamy nature of this novel but didn't care for the wife aspect of it. I felt like it didn't really need it and is it weird I was kind of hoping for some kind of sexy scene with Breton, her roommate and the teacher when they went on their little spying adventure? I enjoyed it read it in one sitting.

Teacher/student relationship
Instant attraction that grows rapidly into something more...only Teague is keeping a secret. When Breton starts asking him questions he doesn't always answer or lies. When she finds mail for his wife she and her roommate take it upon themselves to get answers.

A quick (one sitting), steamy read.

The relationship between Teague and Breton is believable, if slightly taboo, and their feelings come across as real.

However, I didn't like the fact that he was married, regardless of circumstances he was cheating.

This was a good teacher-student romance, and I enjoyed the plot, but considering the length of the book, I thought there was too many details left out, and some events that happened towards the end of the story left me confused. But this had the potential to be a really good romance, and there were still some things I liked about the characters and the chemistry between Teague and Breton.

When I started this book, I thought it was going to be another forbidden love student/professor type. I am glad to admit that I was wrong. This was not your typical forbidden love story. A few twists and enough turns to make it a quick and easy read for an afternoon.
Well written without a lot of errors. (My pet peeve). Love the way it turned out in the end.

This is a fast-paced steamy read between a professor and his student. The chemistry between Teague and Breton is hot and steamy but Teague is hiding something. Will Breton find out the truth? I found the story to be entertaining. Just wished it was a bit longer. Overall a good read.
