PseudoPsalms: Prophets

Rate this book
Prophets brings together the collected poems of Peter Adam Salomon into a dark and surreal journey through the human soul. Forty Six poems will take you into the mirrored worlds we see within ourselves, fraught with the echoes of darkness we hold inside, yet like a colored silhouette his poetry brims with the hope we all search for. "PROPHETS, by Peter Adam Salomon is a rare treasure—an experience not to be missed with a true contemporary Gothic poet. Every poem is rich with emotional beauty, songs of death; and visceral expressions of loneliness and shades of darkened madness. I was lured into Peter’s intoxicating world of verse with the opening poem, SOMEWHERE…IN A DREAM I ONCE HAD. Like other poems in this collection it is terrifying, enigmatically romantic and somber. He paints lush landscapes with words, and he constructs desolate places where forbidden acts occur—most often by people who live in shadow. It’s difficult to render rich character within a poem, but Peter does it well. APATHETIC, one of my favorite pieces in the collection, is narrated by a psychopath, one with a disturbing story to tell. And he tells that tale with a horrific and intense voice. PROPHETS is more than mere strands of verse woven together, more than cliché renderings about death and insanity. Each poem is a story, gripping, beautiful and brilliant." Sandy DeLuca, Author of DESCENT and MESSAGES FROM THE DEAD and Bram Stoker Award Winning Poet® "Prophets is a collection of sins, fatalities, and dark recollections. It’s a surrealist walk through the makeups of nightmares and a grotesque waltz into the madness of love. The poems within this book have captured my heart and claimed my sanity, and I highly recommend taking this beautiful journey into Hell and back." Stephanie M. Wytovich, Bram Stoker Award® Nominated Poet for " A Collection of Madness." "You'll find a variety of dark poetry in Salomon’s collection. Prepare yourself for shivers with lines like "across a crowed room/I see your face/I start to die" or, in a poem with a totally different "my softest caress/around your throat/the skin/even in death/so very delicate". Be warned, these poems will disturb your sanity, dark shadows in your sweetest dreams." Bram Stoker Award® Winning Poet Marge Simon
