Handicapped Parking is a collection of humorous essays written by a baby boomer whose best years were probably not as good, nor the worst years quite as bad, as he remembers them. It is a nostalgic look at growing up in the 50s and 60s, surviving middle age, and being reluctantly dragged ever deeper into old age, all viewed through the eyes of a man who has yet to figure out when the rights of the few unduly infringe on the rights of the many; when sensitivity encroaches on sensibility, and when nonsense collides with common sense. Those who define themselves as political or social moderates may find the anecdotes funny. Liberals who have little patience with the politically incorrect may find them disturbing. Conservatives with no understanding of satire will find them inspirational.
