Jade is the only one who knows the Commander has one last trick up his sleeve and now she has to make a deal with the devil to protect the people she loves. Distancing herself from Roan, her father, and friends isn’t easy, but if it means they get to live, she’ll do whatever it takes. Roan is blissfully unaware that anything is wrong as he takes over as Commander now that his father has been defeated, but as he works to better the country, he starts to discover something isn’t right. Teaming up with Lucas and the rest of the people that love Jade, he’s ready to fight for her life and turn his back on his family to do it. With an out-of-control villain trying to enact his final endgame move, it’s a devastating fight to see who will survive.
The first book in the Jaded Duology has been called the “YA Dystopian Mr. and Mrs. Smith” by authors and is perfect for fans of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Selection. The emotional roller coaster in this book has caused fans to create actual emotional support groups after reading this dangerously exciting book.
K.M. Robinson is a storyteller who creates new worlds both in her writing and in her fine arts conceptual photography. She is a marketing, branding and social media strategy educator who is recognized at first sight by her very long hair. She is a creative who focuses on photography, videography, couture dress making, and writing to express the stories she needs to tell. She almost always has a camera within reach.
If you thought Jaded played with your emotions, get ready for a massive surprise while diving into Risen. There are twists in every chapter, and you won't see any of them coming. Not all of them are sad but let's face it, the majority will make your jaw go slack and possibly shake your fist in the air as you curse the Commander.
This was a great conclusion to the duology so if you like romance, action and fantastic characters (which I'm pretty sure you do), pick up this book!
In case you were like me and holding by the end of Jaded - this one picks up not long after the first book. We're able to see Jade and Roan slip into a comfortable relationship where they are learning to trust one another and explore what a relationship should be. However, K.M. Robinson likes to torture her readers and rip the rug out from under us!
The Commander has one last trick up his sleeve and until the very end you don't know the fate of Jade...
Read the first one fast. Read this one faster. Unfortunately I do not sleep well...so I read myself to sleep .. except this book had the opposite effect. It was so awful that it woke me up and due to being 2:30 or later in the morning I 'had' to put it down. My compromise was that I read it within a week. Honestly this author captures conspiracies to the tee. I've read most of her novels... she's incredible.
this was an amazing book. i don't normally like romance books but this book showed me how great they can be. and the cliff hanger was a nice touch too.
What a whirlwind of emotions. Somehow Jade gets sucked back into the commander’s plan. It’s even worse than the one in Jaded. Please have your tissues ready and maybe have a stress ball as well so you don’t throw your book or device. Sometimes happily ever after takes a little bit of work to get to. Also prepare yourself for new love as. P.S. Does anyone else want a cookbook by Annie? Those pastries sound so good.
