Shane Dos

Rate this book
It is six years earlier and Shane has a problem - boredom. After four years living in rural Spain, he needs something to give him a kick. After all what is life without kicks? Shane wanted Lola the moment he set eyes on her, but when she walked out of the crowd a bit of the past came with her.

A plot that twists and turns like a venomous snake and has a nasty bite too! I just couldn't put it down. Martin Thompson - Denning

Orchard provides an electrifying yarn set around lust and greed - buckle up and enjoy the ride! Lisa Fabian

Shane shows a human side - sex and money. Who was going to double - cross who? My only disappointment was I finished it so quickly. Nic Gibbons.

The saga of the British Shane continues

Shane Dos is a well written novel about some fairly unpleasant people. Shane is a criminal and a killer. Rob is a weak, badly used drug dealer. Lola is a self-centered woman who will use anyone to get what she wants. Even though I didn't like these people, I kept reading because I enjoyed Mr. Orchard's first Shane novel. I am glad that I did. As the novel progresses the characters become more nuanced, become people rather than just unpleasant people. It helps that as the story develops, their opponents prove to be equally or even more unlikable. There is also a streak of the Shane we saw in the first novel. The events in Shane Dos occur a few years before the first novel. It is no mean feat to make criminals sympathetic to me but Mr. Orchard accomplishes it. I hope he writes more about Shane.

Note: this book seems to contain more English slang that did the first one. Most of it is understandable in context. The rest I found on the web.
