Drew Liston is everything I have to avoid. Sexy, handsome…a billionaire and way out of my league. He wanted me once, six years ago. I said yes. I let him break my heart. To be honest, I’ve never really gotten over him. You don’t ever get over a man like Drew. I can’t believe it’s her after all these years. She’s just as pretty, just as sweet. But she’s shy now. I know why. It’s because I had her once and I let her go. Because maybe, just maybe she can still remember what it felt like when we were together. I made her pant and beg and scream my name. Now she’s afraid to let me get close. I stop in her bakery all the time, try to be her friend. It’s not the flavor of her cakes and pies I’m there for. I miss the taste of her. This is our second chance. Once she lets me in again, I’m never letting her go. I’m a man who always gets what he wants, and I’m not giving up until she’s mine, once and for all.

I should know better then to read anything by Mia or Aria Ford but for some unknown reason, I picked this one up and I had to DNF immediately after a couple of pages in. I read some stupid plots & writing in the past, but this one took the cake! Both H & h are plain annoying and immature. They act & talk like seven year olds! I take that back. My seven year old is much more smarter!
Unfortunately this was not my favourite book by Aria Ford. I wasn't a big fan of Drew. For a man in his late twenties to mid thirties he let his uncle have to much say and control over his life. He broke off his year long relationship with Allie and started an engagement with another woman almost immediately after because his uncle told him too. He was too much of a coward for my tastes. I liked Allie at the beginning, she was independent and successful, she didn't stay celibate after the breakup all pluses for me. Then she saw Drew and was angry and hurt and she wouldn't give him the time of day until she caved and forgave him in five seconds. Why can't heroines hold on to anger for more than a heartbeat? His explanation for the breakup was lame and I was annoyed she forgave him so quickly. The end was worse when he gave her the real reason for the breakup and she was sympathetic and understanding, I just wanted to kick him in the groin! I really wanted him to stand up to his uncle but that didn't happen, I can't see him accepting her into his nephew's life. I voluntarily read an arc copy for my honest review!
The hero was a weak little boy that had no business playing in a grown up world. I did not like him at all. I want my hero’s come off strong and know what they want want. Not this pansy. He let his uncle ruin his relationship and they pulled all the strings on what the pansy was suppose to do. I also did not care for the heroine. She too was too “sweet” too “forgiving” to “naive”. Yes I havent seen you in 6 years after you ditched me with no word at all and then you see him again and you have dinner and then fall into bed with him right away??!!
Plus I do not know of any bakery’s that open at 8:30 and the chef/ baker gets there when they open. Uhhhhmmmm dont you need to make your stuff? Baking your stuff when customers come it is not how it is done. Bakers would have to get into their shop really early to get the day going. Have made batches of items before the door even opens. (Sorry just a pet peeve of mine when the author does not do the leg work to find out about what they are writing about)
The book over al is ok, will not read again. The writing was off. in this book the H and h did not act the 32/ 35 years of their age... it read like they were teenagers.. maybe cause it was how they were acting.
Aria you did it again, Sweet beautiful love story about Drew and Allie. I was captured from start to finish. They have the most sexy steamy HOT chemistry that of this world. a must read, ONE-CLICK NOW. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy
This is honestly one of the worst books I have ever read. And I forced myself to actually finish reading this. I thought the blurb sounded promising and it was only $0.99. But after I opened the book to start reading it, I discovered that there was 5 more books included. So I knew that this book was going to disappoint. The plot had potential but it was not executed well at all. There was way too many "Uh's and Um's" in this book.
Allie hadn't seen or heard from Drew in 6 years and after they run into each other, she immediately forgives him (without any explanation as to why he dumped her 6 years ago) and then she just jumps into bed with him. Not realistic. Then when he has to leave Ashville and head back to San Diego, he doesn't get her phone number or give his number to her. So you reconnect and then leave with no way to contact one another? Again not realistic.
Then he finally calls her and wants to go away for the weekend and while they are together he gets a call that a girl he was forced to be with for 6 years is in the hospital and he feels torn and upset. Even though they are just friends because neither wanted to really be together. For some reason Drew felt the need to hide his relationship with this girl and her illness to himself and not explain everthing. Just not acceptable.
Also, Drew was 29 when he started dating Allie 6 years prior and he let his uncle dictate who he is in a relationship with. Now he is 35 and still letting his uncle rule his life. Drew needs a backbone and tell his uncle off.
I regret wasting my time reading this book. So disappointed.
"The merest trace of pastry flaking the table was all the evidence I had that he had ever been here, ever walked in to my life once more. That, and the widening gulf in my heart."
What a sweet second chance story! I'm such a sucker for these!! Drew and Allie's story had heartbreak, a little humor, hope, and of course an HEA!!
Drew Liston came from wealth. Allie Hendricks couldn't have been more opposite with her humbled upbringing. But six years ago, they were each other's everything. That is, until he made the worse mistake of his life. He walked away from her without explanation. The family influences of his status outweighing the influences of his heart. Now, he has an opportunity to see her again - to explain. Will she even listen? Does she hate him that much that she will refuse him the chance to make it right? He lost her once - he won't lose her again.
Allie Hendricks had the man of her dreams. That is, until he left her six years ago via a letter in her mailbox. No one since Drew Liston has even come close to making her feel the things he did. When he suddenly re-appears in her life, the battle between her head and her heart starts raging. The only question is, which one will win out? Can any explanation of why he did what he did, be enough to erase the pain and put back the pieces of her broken heart? Is a second chance with Drew worth putting herself on the line?
This was such a sweet story. No evil twists or plot, no ulterior motives - just a guy who made a bad choice and wants to make it right, and a girl who never got over her frog prince.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I absolutely loved this second chance romance about Allie and Drew. Too people from very different backgrounds. Drew is born into wealth and Allie is not. She has always had to work hard to make a life for herself. The two are an unlikely pair who fall in love and date for a year. Allie can't believe someone like Drew could love her and wonders if it will last. Drew is feeling pressure from his uncle who runs the family business and makes the mistake of listening to hi and breaks up with Allie. All Allie gets is a short letter from Drew saying he is breaking up with her. She is devastated and puts all her energy and focus into opening up her own bakery. Six years later and the two meet again. Drew realizes he made a terrible mistake and decides to work at winning Allie back. This is a wonderful story with sweet and funny parts as well as heartache and an uncle I want to reach across and slap. Well written and the the story had me pulled in from the beginning. Glad to see them finally get their HEA!
Aria Ford has written a beautiful, sweet, steamy read that captivates the reader. The story involves Drew Winston raised in wealth and status and Allie Hendricks raised in an average loving home. They are in love and are a couple for about a year while in college. Family pressures on Drew's part come between them and he walks away from love. Allie is devastated not knowing why he left. Six years later Drew and Allie bump into each other. Now knowing what he gave up, Drew desperately wants to explain and make things right. Drew wants Allie back but will they get a second-chance? “Sweet Tooth” has everything to keep you reading, heartbreak, humor, chemistry, romance and regrets. This emotional well-written story is well worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I just loved this sweet and sexy second chance romance. Allie and Drew were in love and happy when they were in college. Or, at least they were, until the day Drew broke Allie's heart via a letter left in her mailbox. Now, six years later fate draws them back together. Drew can't believe it's her and after all these years he is determined to grab his chance and make her his forever because this time he has no intention of letting go. Allie has never really gotten over Drew, but she will resist the attraction as hard as she can because she's not willing to risk her heart again. As her heart wars with her head, Drew pulls out all the stops to get them the chance at the HEA he threw away. I'm posting a totally honest, voluntary review after reading this book.
A well written second chance romance with nice storyline and plot. The characters are well described and develops nicely through the story. Their chemistry is amazing and hot. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. The twists makes you just want to read more. I like that it is not all about hot scenes but also about love and romance. It has heart in it and that made me want to read it in one setting. The way the author has mixed hope, humour, romance, chemistry, heartbreak, bad choices, regrets and the emotional ups and downs made me like this story. It is a bit different from the usual second chance romances because there are no enormous twists in it. It is just a man that wants his woman back.
There is Drew who is a billionaire and gets what he wants. Then there is Allie, the one who got away. Six years ago when they were in college, he let his family interfere and break them apart. Now that he has seen her again, he's decided to get her back. Allie is not aware of this plan however and after the way he broke up with her in college, is not inclined to give him his second chance. Can Drew convince her? Will a family member interfere again? Has he changed enough for Allie to give him a second chance? This was a good story and worth a read. Enjoy!!
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and here is my honest review.
Allie now a successful shop owner has never forgotten Drew, they were together for a year then all of a sudden he left without much explanation (this was six years ago). Drew still working for his uncle has never forgotten Allie either, he has to go to the town where she lives for business and they run into each other, the attraction they have is still there but can she trust him to not leave again. Both characters seem a little childish at times, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the next book by Aria, she is a great author so give her book a try.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Drew Liston and Allie Hendricks. They were in love but one day changed everything and Allie didn't know why. Now years later both find themselves in the same place again. Will they truly have a second or will the past make it to hard to even work toward a future they both want?
This is an amazing book. It does have it's ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. I however don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This is the first book of Aria Ford's that I read, but it is definitely not the last.
Coming from two different family backgrounds, the two main characters met before and have to go separate ways due to the male lead's family. Like the title of the story, they met again years later, not forgetting about each other. Yet, the female lead after being 'hurt', took some time to recover.
The plot goes on where the male lead finally took the initiative to acknowledge his feelings and decided to go against his uncle's belief.
Happily ever after.
If you are someone who enjoys reading romance, giving a 2nd chance, this is definitely the book to pick up.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. It wasn’t my favorite. Chef and Bakers are one of my favorite storylines to read, so I was excited to start the book. I loved the closeness and support of the characters at Sugarlips. The girls and Allie together were the sweet and fun parts of the book. I just couldn’t see Allie and Drew as a couple in anyway. Drew was not the strong alpha type I like reading in a book. They just didn’t have the explosive chemistry for me. This is just my opinion and shouldn’t reflect you from trying the book.
This one definitely gave us a sweet tooth. The way that their situation was described had us always on the end of our sits, trying to figure out how things would turn out. These two just had the electric chemistry that we saw but was slightly out of reach. It was so well told and written that I'm recommending this as a must read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily readand reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy
A second chance romance that will will warm your heart. They were an item years ago until he broke her heart. He's a billionaire now and always gets what he wants and he wants her. Well written with likeable characters and an entertaining story. Lots of steam and chemistry that's over the top. A fun book to read with some twists. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Drew and Allie came from two different worlds. But their love was true. Until one day it wasn't and Allie had no idea why. Six years later Drew is back snd he wants Allie back too. Will she ever be able to forgive him? He will not stop until he proves to Allie what a huge mistake he made. Find out how these two find their way back to one another and the deep love they share. Such a fantastic book!!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I was a bit up in the air about this book, I liked it, I liked the characters but it also annoyed me, I wanted Drew to stand up for himself, he acted so weak I wanted to scream at him! 😡 but I did like them together 😊 I would’ve given more stars if we had seen the outcome with his uncle at the end because Drew must’ve by then stood up for himself, and the ending was a bit abrupt! Nice story though 😊 I voluntarily read an ARC copy and am leaving an honest review
This was a really sweet read I just love a good second chance romance and Aria never fails to deliver.Six tears ago Drew and Allie were head over heels in love but Drew came from a very wealthy family and he allowed his family to split them up.Now he is back and is determined to win her back but can he get her to listen to him and can she forgive him for breaking her heart.A really good read I really enjoyed it
This is a fast-paced second chance romance. Drew and Allie may have grown up in two different worlds but fell in love. Then he walked away. Now it is six years later and Allie doesn’t plan on getting hurt again but Drew has plans of his own. Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and sweet romance. I liked the characters and the story held my interest throughout. A good read.
Aria never disappoints with her books. This is another great read from her. Second chance romances are my favorite ones to read, and I loved this one. Drew and Allie were so easy to root for and you could feel the love they both had for each other. I adored them. Definitely one of my favorite books.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This book has characters from different backgrounds, family interference, heartbreak and of course love. Drew comes from a wealthy family. Allie was raised in an average family with love. These two have wonderful chemistry. Will Allie be able to forgive Drew for breaking her heart? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a great second chance romance. Drew had left Allie six years ago. He was suddenly at an event that Allie helped cater and their story continues, but all isn’t smooth sailing. Aria did a wonderful job of keeping my excited to see what was going to happen throughout. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was a really good story! I really like Allie and her personality. Drew was really sweet with her but could use a little smack up side the head for what he did to her in the beginning....BUT you will have to read about that and see what you think (; I definitely recommended you read this book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This was a really good second chance romance. Allie and Drew's story was a sweet one with some drama from family, as well as humor added in. I enjoyed it. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
There are no words for this book! I wouldn’t even rate it but I couldn’t comment without it. 6 years and it’s like nothing happened. I don’t normally say things like this but skip this book!
Drew and Allie have a past together. A chance meeting has these two trying to reconnect and have a second chance at love. What made Drew walk away all those years ago? Will Allie forgive Drew enough to start to rekindle their love? A sweet read that I enjoyed.
A really sweet second chance story Drew and Allie are great characters plenty of chemistry and steam between them loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
