On the heels of her mother's death, Hope Logan reluctantly returned to her grandparents' home place in search of a journal that revealed explosive crimes and atrocities of the past that had haunted her grandma for nearly sixty-five years. Bitterness, unforgiveness, and anger consumed her as she set out to solve the mystery that surrounded her grandma's life. The dark evil secret that was contained in the journal only deepened her resentment of God. Because of her quest, she came in contact with many strong believers, especially a handsome young pastor and three senior citizens. In that small town in the foothills of the mountains of North Carolina, Hope's bitterness, unforgiveness, and anger slowly began to fade in the light of the strong faith of the young pastor and three senior citizens. About the author

Carolyn Digh Griffin, a native North Carolinian, resides in Waxhaw, North Carolina, with her husband, Hoyle. She is retired from Union County Public Schools where she was an Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent. She has two daughters and four grandchildren who also reside in the Old North State. All of Carolyn's books are southern faith-based stories that include mystery, sometimes terror, and human relationship with a touch of romance. Her stories always reflect the lives of ordinary people and their life situations. Being from the south, Carolyn always writes about places that are familiar to her. She has spent her entire life in North Carolina except the time her husband was in the military. Her hobbies include music, writing, genealogy, collecting antiques, and scrapbooking old family pictures. She always includes some type of historical facts in her books, because she is well-versed in history and loves to study and research it. Carolyn's writing journey began after an extended illness that led to her retirement from the school district.

The greatest Hope for life.

One of the best books I've read in a long time. It brings inspiration to the reader. No matter how bad things may appear in life, there is eternal hope in Christ. The story line is surprisingly different from many books with a touch of history connecting the present. I won't summarize but leave you with the promise that you won't be disappointed if you decide to read this book.

Hope Returns touched me in so many ways.

What a wonderful story. Full of hope, love and faith. I cried, laughed and rejoiced. Being from Rutherford County made the reading of this book more special. I recommend this book to all and would give it a 10 star rating if possible.

Love, love, love this book. Love the Godly people, and lovely surroundings. First of the Carolyn Griffin books I have read. But, I will be reading more.

When Hope Logan's mother passes away, she tells Hope she has to find a journal that holds secrets of the past. A journal that belonged to Hope's grandma. Hope begins a journey to not only find the book, but with it, buried secrets from the past. The author does a great job with this heart warming book that delves into history and genealogy. The author knows how to tell a story that is well written and one readers will find touching in the recollections of the past and the hope for the future. I have read a few books by this author and have found her books to be great reads

Hope Returns was a delightful story of a young woman who goes to her grandparents’ hometown to unravel a family mystery after the death of her mother. The story shows how God works in our lives. There are really no coincidences.
