Very technical and hard to get through, and in the end I felt like I missed Lewis quite a bit. Problem may lie in that that I'm more interested in Lewis literature no matter how much I love his non-fiction. This book was ok, seems like a very useful resource, but hard to get through no matter how well written for its field it seems.

I highlighted a lot of passages from this book, many that just made me madder and madder about the education system I went through and that currently exists. The authors delve deeply into C.S. Lewis, the current (and now relatively longstanding) view of education as an institution, and how/why it is seriously lacking and seriously failing. This is a great follow up to Lewis' The Abolition of Man, which, if you haven't read, I recommend highly. And after you do that, read this book.

Somewhat circumlocutory, if I'm honest. But in outline, well argued. More concrete examples from educational institutions, much like Lewis gave in Abolition of Man, would have grounded and helped guide the reader to appreciate the flow of argument, and probably stemmed the repetitive tide.
