Total opposites. Best friends. And now they’re living together… Lance and Travis have been best friends for years, despite being total opposites. Travis is a notorious player, while Lance is terrified of first dates. It certainly doesn’t help that Lance has been pining after an oblivious Travis for years. But when events conspire to put them in the same living space, will the close quarters finally allow their relationship help them to finally go from “just friends” to something more? Lance certainly hopes so…

This was your basic friends to lovers trope, and I was at a 3 star rating until closer to the end. It had your miscommunication and fear of losing your friendship. Lance and Travis are basically already in a relationship without the sex. It just takes them awhile to come to the realization, they are perfect together. There is a big fight, and some ugly things are said. They know each other too well, and they let it all fly when they blow up at each other. The way Travis apologises just freaking melted my heart!!😍😍 When someone who doesn't make romantic gestures, makes such a beautiful one. The feels!! His declaration just added another star to my rating. I will definitely try more from this author.
This was a meandering mess, with way too many secondary characters, none of whom were distinguishable from each other since they all talked and behaved the same. The focus was more on the group of friends than the MCs.
This book is not a standalone, even though it's only the second in a series. Boring, unfocused, and definitely the last thing I'll ever read by this author.
Pining for your best friend for over ten years is the premise of the Lance & Travis romantic story. Just a cute relationship tale. I love the MCs, but this group of side characters makes the story better. I want to hang out at Joe’s!
The book blurb tells the story a lot better than I ever could or does it? I felt the story was better than the blurb; does that make any sense? "Through Thick and Thin" was an amazing storyline of "friends to lovers". It was done beautifully. We have these amazing friends since high school and college who still are in the same neighborhood as from their childhood. Most of them are in a relationship except Travis and Lance: Travis, the one-night stand guy, and Lance, who is in love with Travis. I am sure, at one point in our life, we felt an attraction for a friend and somehow told this person. Awkward to say the least when that friend didn't reciprocate and somehow the friendship died a slow death. Lance felt that if it was told; their friendship would die. A friend was a better than nothing he so reasoned. This was a slow burn, slightly humorous, miscommunication as the story of Lance and Travis unfolds. It is pretty entertaining to read and will scratch that itch for an HEA. J.P. Oliver relatively newcomer to M/M romance world and so far he is doing a bang-up job. I like the way he writes: his sentence structure, his word usage, and the imagination. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an enjoyable and entertaining read. ****************************** "I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review."
Lance is a reclusive who works on IT and graphic design and this way he an hide at home except in the evening when he goes to the pub that is owned by a life long friend and his other childhood friends show up too...including Travis. His best friend. He has loved his best friend for several years and he has no hopes that it will go anywhere because Travis is a one night stand kind of guy. It finally catches up to him when a one nighter accidentally causes his house to burn down. He moves in with Lance and things start to change. Travis gets funny feelings in his chest and Lance starts acting weird around him. The two can't seem to get it together. They need help and their friends are more than willing to help. A sweet HEA and a big beat takes us to the end of the book. Great read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.
I read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. J.P. Oliver is one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy the relationships that he creates and carries into the next stories. I like the intertwining lives and being able to see the characters evolve and fall in love. It's almost like a miniseries. As you read you can see the characters and their surroundings. In this one I fell in love with quiet unassuming Lance and his unrequited love for Travis the man tramp. I loved reading how Travis finally manned up and became the man he should be.
Through Thick and Thin (Fighting For Love Book 2) by J.P. Oliver. This is Lance and Travis’ story.
Travis and Lance are best friends. Lance has been in love with Travis for years but doesn’t want to mess up their friendship. Travis only does one night stands.
Lance and Travis’s story was sweet and so much fun. I loved the banter between Lance and Travis.
This is a great book to escape from everyday stress. Get cozy and laugh and cry as Lance and Travis’ story unfolds.
FYI, contains mature content. This is a MM/gay romances. Kindle Unlimited subscriber
“Through Thick and Thin” is a friends to lovers book and it doesn’t disappoint in that aspect. But it did take a while to grab my attention and for Lance and Travis to come together. There is some miscommunication, of course no talking to one another, and some angst but this is a sweet story if you are looking for something quick.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book from the author for an honest review.
Two friends in love with with each other Lance knew he was love travis but to scared to tell him in on fear of losing him. it years and his house going on fire having to move in with lance for travis to realise he was in love lance. With a like help along the way they may be finally are on the same page this book will have laughing crying and the steamy scene are hot with out being over the top
As always great story of being friends to lover with no clue to each other feelings. The picture of being brave and having patience to take care of someone that didn't see you as more then just friends. Lance had always been in love with Travis. Everyone could see it but Travis didn't. Travis finally notices but gets kicked in the gut when Lance decides it's time to start looking somewhere else. Great story and hope to read more on these two.
Lance and Travis have been through it all together as friends, but do they have what it takes to fight through the tough stuff and find out if they can make it as lovers? This book was amazing! touched every emotion and made you want to keep reading even when it was 2 am and you knew you should get some sleep! I received an arc of this book that i happily reviewed
I was a bit hesitant about reading this, knowing from the first book that Travis is such a player and hating cheating (even if the MCs aren't officially together yet). However this was not an issue I had with the book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I love the group of friends JP Oliver has created and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Great book with Lance and Travis. Best friends since high school. Lance has been his rock for years while secretly pining over him. Travis is a player that is seemingly allergic to expressing emotions. There becomes cute moments between the two. I was cringing at the bonehead moments when neither wanted to talk things out. Super hot sex scenes. Loved this.
Travis and Lance really have been through thick and thin together for most of their lives. How sweet it is to finally realized that your in love with your best friend...the one that always completed you. You always miss what's right in front of you the whole time.
The story is more focused on their friends than on the MCs' love story. Plus, you cannot tell their friends apart, their personalities are all the same. I put me off until a good half of the book when I decided to just skimmed all passage with their friends.
These two were a bit obtuse in the matter of getting their feelings and communication straight, but once again the chemistry was sexy as hell. J.P. Oliver sure knows how to explore the chemistry/sex part of the book without being too sappy.
Travis and Lance finally hook up after so many years of Lance wanting him! How could Travis not see how much Lance loved him? This was a good book because it showed love will win!
Through thick and thin is a cute, hot read. Travis is a Playboy and Lance is his best friend who puts up with his crap because he is secretly in love with him. When Lance gets tired of being Travis's support system things get interesting.
There's been 5 or 6 names mentioned amongst this group of friends and it's been discussed more than once already that they've pretty much all slept with each other at some point. Hate books like this I'm out.
Another great book in the Fighting for Love series. I absolutely loved Lance and Travis and I didn't want their story to end. Loved it! Can't wait to read the next book.
