Devil's Dolls #4

The Devil's Tale: A Suspenseful Vigilante Justice Thriller Short Story

Rate this book
Some fairy tales don’t get happy endings.
With miles to cross until her next mission and still no sign from Lisa, K is worried sick. The radio silence has her thinking the worst, but at least her new case keeps her mind occupied. Five children have gone missing in this quiet suburban town, and the only clue their kidnapper left behind is fairy tale tokens. Now, they’re about to strike again, weaving a new devilish tale.

After she puts the pieces of the sickening puzzle together, K discovers that avoiding the incompetent local police force was a clever move. But it seems she is not the only one jumping on the chase of this twisted fantasy. Stumbling upon a blog that links the cases in detail makes the writer’s involvement clear in all this. How did they escape the kidnappings, and why don’t they want to catch the perpetrator?

Before long, an unlikely encounter with a media creator sets the gears of the case in motion. It’s all about connections, and K is willing to play this game if it means saving those children’s lives. But after receiving a call she had been expecting for weeks, K finally learns what has happened to Lisa… and the discovery breaks her for good.

In The Devil’s Tale, we find K on her way to another small town to rescue six kidnapped children and to bring the kidnappers to justice. Like in all the Devil’s Dolls episodes, K finds help and allies in the most unlikely places and people. The tale of the kidnapped children is a spine-tingling thrill ride. But what has started grabbing my attention is the overarching plot. We know from earlier episodes that someone is following K. We know that the watcher or watchers mean to do K harm. What we still don’t know is who they are and why they want to harm her. As this episode ends, they are closing in on K and are planning... Well, go read this page burner to find that out for yourself.

In my reviews of the earlier episodes, I said that they could be read in any order and enjoyed, but I think we have reached the point where these episodes have to be read in the order in which they were written.

Devil's Dolls Series:
A book broken into pieces, each a cliffhanger, each quickly read since about six - ten chapters each. Interesting story lines with gore and action, but simplistic in nature. Entertaining no-brainer with no vulgar language and some silly dialog. K is likeable.
The Devil's Origin, prequel pt. 1 - Interesting introduction about K's start. 4*
Vengeance in Black, prequel pt. 2 - How K meets Lisa. 3*
The Devil's Dollmaker (1) - Interesting but reminds me of a Horror movie I saw in the late Sixties, but much worse. Gory but not graphic to extremes, just enough for visualization. 4*
The Silent Watcher (2) - Good vengeance, simplistic but effective. Intriguing side story fully in the works. 4*
Trail of Blood (3) - Goodness, the amount of depravity that exists in this section. 4*
The Devil's Tale (4) - Good mix of Cozy and simplistic rushing to finish this section. 3*
The Devil's Reckoning (5) -
The Devil's Blood (6) -
Devil's Dolls Series end.

In this instalment K is sent to investigate the kidnapping of children, and the clues that are left behind are from fairy tales.
And yet again the dark web is somehow involved in her investigation, are all of her investigations linked somehow?
William is writing a totally gripping series that leaves you asking questions and wanting to read more.
This book, like the rest in the series is well written and I'm definitely a fan of K, even though we still don't know much about her. William gives us little breadcrumbs every now and then about her. She is definitely a great character and I'm looking forward to getting to know more about her.
The ending of this book is shocking and I can't wait to read the next book to see where it takes K next ❤️

3 1/2 STARS
In book #4 in the Devil's Dolls series, K is lead to another small town with a dark shadow over it. Children are going missing. Is anyone really looking for them? K again finds a couple of allies to help with her assignment. Was an interesting read although I would have liked it to be filled out a bit more. These are, however, quick reads that will be assembled once done. It's a good series with a unique protagonist in K. You can read each as a stand alone without missing too much but why. Read them in order from the beginning to get a fuller story.
I received a free advance readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This is book four of six in the Devil's Doll series, but you don't need to read the previous books to follow this story. K works as a bounty hunter and her new case is to look into the disappearance of five children. The only clues left behind relate to fairy tales. Are these five missing children related in any way? Will K or the police locate these children dead or alive? The setting was great, the plot riveting, and the characters interesting as well. I will be going back to read the previous books in the series.

K is on another case, this time involving a serial killer who murders young children and leave clues that represent fairy tale props. This seems very weird to K. There was a film crew that was doing a documentary on this case. K was able to convince William the film maker to join up with her to solve the case. They also recruit the help of Jessica and the librarian who wrote the blog on this very case. Jessica had come from abusive parents and she had lost her twin brother Jared who had been kidnapped as a child . A very chilling finish to the story. I received this book free and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.

Once again K does it again, finding a way to make people talk when she needs her information. The idea of someone taking kids and leaving sets based off of fairy tales is truly creepy and very interesting. Now K has learned something has happened to her friend, wonder how that will go in the next book.

Fairytale tokens

Why are children disappearing and only tokens left of their favourite fairy tales? With the help of a media creator, William and a blogger, Jessica whose brother disappeared, K must find the kidnapper and the missing children. A page turner with a surprising ending. The cover of the book is very good.

Book 4 in this intriguing series.

K goes about her business as instructed. However, more and more, she feels something isn't right.
People with dark habits are K's targets. Until she becomes a target.

Sometimes, continuity creeps into the plot, and it becomes a little disjointed. However, work through it as the plot has twisted.

Thank you for the opportunity to read your book

K is on a new case where five children went missing and something was left behind that showed a theme. K talks to the sister of a missing boy and they devise a plan to find the people doing the abducting. A page turner that leads you into the next novel.

Another great story of K saving children from a deranged individual. I really enjoy these quick read and I see so much potential for these to be much longer. The idea that each of these cases is somehow connected to the dark web is an interesting twist as well as needing to know who has Lisa.

Allow two hours for this PG contemporary small-town vigilante procedural set in Weston, Utah where children have been taken off the street. I had a review copy via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary review.

These are interesting tales of the triumph of good over evil. Not a long read but they do lead to the next book/chapter in the story

I'm on to the next one!

His books always keep you guessing and Iove how K can get justice her way. I wouldn't want to be on her bad side. And oh a silencer is oh so illegal.

Wow

This was fantastic. It was definitely a different story, but was still as good as the others. I am so glad I found this series

A one-liner story, that gets written for 70-80 pages. Nothing as plot or nail-biting page-turners, suspense or anything exciting.
