Some of the stories didn't pull me in, but there a few standouts in this collection. In particular, I really enjoyed 'Sister Detroit', 'Exercises' and 'A House Full of Maude'. Reading these stories is closer to experiencing poetry, which is more hit or miss than a novel, so your mileage may vary. Overall, I love the time, place and space of these stories.
