Famously tutored by Aristotle, Alexander ruthlessly established himself as Macedonian king in the 300s BC, setting about continuing his father's wars against the Persian Empire (for their attacks on Greek City states 150 years before). Astride his horse Bucepalus, he embarked on his great eastern campaigns in which he conquered most of the known world, as far as India, taking Greek language and culture with him. He never returned, dying of a fever in Babylon at the age of 32. This is an incredible story of a brilliant military tactician who is bent on taking over the world. Taking part in battles and sieges galre, Alex even finds himself up against an army of 326 elephants...

Đừng đánh giá thấp những cuốn sách thoạt nhìn cứ tưởng là cho trẻ em. Đây là quyển sách truyền cảm hứng khám phá lịch sử nhất mà tôi từng được đọc (ít nhất cũng hơn những quyển giáo trình khô khan mà tôi chỉ muốn học cho qua). Hoặc cũng có thể là câu chuyện về nhà xâm lược thế giới Alexander Đại đế và khát vọng của ông vĩ đại thật sự.
Ở Việt Nam, lịch sử có thể được học sinh khắp cả nước xem môn học đáng chán nhất. Có thể đó cũng là tình hình chung cho những quyển sách giáo khoa ;) Và nếu có thể chỉ ra yếu tố mà sách lịch sử (hay bất kì 1 quyển sách giáo khoa nào khác) của ta còn thiếu, thì đó chính là cách trình bày sáng tạo và một chút hài hước thú vị.
Quyển sách này mang đầy đủ yếu tố sáng tạo và hài hước cần có để lịch sử được trở nên vĩ đại một lần nữa (make history great again lol :D)với độc giả mọi lứa tuổi

A série mortos de fama, editada no Brasil pela Companhia das Letras, sem dúvida é a melhor forma de iniciar a leitura de biografias. Várias curiosidades sobre a vida de Alexandre o Grande estão compiladas aqui em uma leitura leve, e que não se encontram em biografias mais "sérias".
