Comprised of projects that appeared in Bead&Button magazine between October 2007 and August 2008, the 82 designs in this book have been thoroughly tested by the magazine’s readers and editors. The projects utilize a number of techniques, including stringing, wirework, chain mail, bead crochet, and loom weaving, and they are illustrated by 900 full-color, step-by-step photographic instructions.
Wow. So many gorgeous pieces to inspire and motivate you to get cracking with the beads.
I've done a little work before with seed bead weaving (off loom) so I'm not a complete novice but I felt this book did a really good job covering the basics needed to get started.
Personally I'd say that it could use a bit more fleshing out in some areas but then I remember that this is Volume 3 in a series so best not to completely re-invent the "how to" section each time.
I'm inspired to do at least 70% of the projects in here. I was especially pleased for the projects involving working with silver wire both in wrapping and hammering. It replaced the intimidation factor with an "I can do that!" feeling.
If I'm this bowled over by just one volume, I'm almost scared to think of the creative inspiration explosions to come when I get my hands on the other books.
But first to try and pick a place to start now that I've looked through all the projects, and have gone through the tutorial in my mind.
