Cassidy Kincaide runs Trifles & Folly in modern-day Charleston, an antiques and curios shop with a dangerous secret. Cassidy can read the history of objects by touching them, and along with her business partners Teag, who has Weaver magic, and Sorren, a 600-year-old vampire, they get rid of cursed objects and keep Charleston and the world safe from supernatural threats.

When zombies rise in Charleston cemeteries, dead men fall from the sky, and the whole city succumbs to the "grouch flu", Cassidy, Teag, and Sorren suspect a vengeful dark witch who is gunning for Teag and planning to unleash an ancient horror.

Cassidy, Teag, and Sorren - and all their supernatural allies - will need magic, cunning, and the help of a Viking demigoddess to survive the battle with a malicious Weaver-witch and an ancient Norse warlock to keep Charleston - and the whole East Coast - from becoming the prey of the Master of the Hunt.

When I read the synopsis for Tangled Web, I thought that this book is exactly my kind of read. Although, I have been disappointed in the past by a book not living up to the synopsis...THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH Tangled Web.

So, you are probably wondering what really reeled me into the plot of Tangled Web. I found Tangled Web packed full of a cast of great characters. There was a very intriguing mystery. And, of course I love a really good urban fantasies with a mash up of a paranormal aspect, mystery, romance and suspense...I was all in.

I received this copy of TANGLED WEB from SOL Publishing. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Review:
*I received an ecopy of this book via NetGalley. This has not influenced my review.*

I enjoyed this! But I was a little disappointed after the last book. What I liked about Book 2 was that I felt like I was getting to know the characters more, and I felt more invested in the story because they had more personal connection to and emotional stakes in what was happening. This one felt kind of distanced and didn't really add much, in my opinion, to the characters' personal stories or development.

It was also a little disorienting to go from, "I guess I'll go on a date with this side character who has hardly been in the story," at the end of the second book to, "He's my partner now!" at the start of the third. And he was still barely in the story. It just feels weird to barely know this character who is clearly important to the main character.

The characters were still well-written in a subtle, realistic, and nuanced way though. And this one still had lots of magic and ghosts and supernatural happenings, as well as a mystery to figure out and some action.

Overall, this one didn't leave a huge impression on me, but it was still well-written, still some solid urban fantasy, and I enjoyed it and look forward to more.

*Rating: 4 Stars // Read Date: 2021 // Format: eBook*

I knew going into this audiobook that this was book 3 in a series, but I read a bunch of reviews on Goodreads that stated that while this is the third book in a continuous series, it could be read as a standalone. Well, since I had been wanting to read this series for a while and I had previously read a book by Gail in a different series that I really enjoyed, I figured that I would go ahead and give this a shot. I think overall that this worked without having had any backstory since the mystery aspect of the book was new and the relationship dynamics and world building were briefly touched on at the start of the book. That being said, I would love to now go back and read the first two books and fill in any missing pieces that I did not pick up here.

I would very much so call this a paranormal mystery that had a ton of magic, action and mayhem thrown in for flavor. The rag-tag group of paranormals, led by Cassidy (the narrator) and Teag, her best friend/body-guard/weaver (who as per the author is pictured on the cover), have to face down hauntings, possessed and cursed items, battle zombies, solve a mystery years in the making, and run their antiques shop in the midst or rushes and crazy customers- which makes the book just as action packed and non-stop as that sounds. As the reader, I got to be sucked into this little slice of haunted southern charm right along with Cassidy, finding clues and stopping the mayhem as best she could. And boy that girl was resilient. The narrator spoke with a southern accent (I have no idea if it is her actual accent of not) and was able to give Cassidy the voice that best suited her character and charm, really making me feel submerged in the culture as if I was there. There was an occasional moment in the audio where it seemed like the voice was echoing back when the narrator was speaking, but it was mild and did not distract from the story at all.

Once again Gail was able to create a new kind of story that I very much enjoyed, full of mayhem and danger with some pretty scary moments and gore. I enjoy her writing style and I feel like the reader is just thrown into the story, which can be stressful and exhilarating. I most certainly will read and or listen to the rest of the books in this series as well as any of Gail's books in the future. This was the perfect read for supernatural mystery fans such as those who enjoy the Victoria Laurie series and those who love the urban fantasy feel of the Cassie Blake series.

Tangled Web is the third book in the Deadly Curiosity series set in Charleston, SC. Book one and book two, Deadly Curiosities and Vendetta respectively, also follow Cassidy and friends on escapades at Trifles & Folly. It's always iffy jumping into a series along the way and this is one of those that I think would better serve you to start at the beginning. The good news is I think the series is worth it.

Tangled Web is written in first person perspective from Cassidy's viewpoint. While the other characters are equally entertaining, we don't spend as much time with them as I would have liked. I'm sure more time is devoted to them in the other novels as this one put the spotlight on Teag and his abilities. With that being said, all of the characters have unique personalities. Even the supporting characters are appealing and kept my interest which is hard to do.

I’ve been on quite a reading streak with books in the Morgan Brice/Gail Z. Martin world lately. That’s partially because of the Deadly Curiosities promotion going on right now, but it’s more because I can’t get enough of these characters and their interwoven world. I’m also kind of back tracking through this world. I actually started with the collection of novellas that are interspersed within the full length books. (Trifles & Folly I and Trifles & Folly II) I followed that with several books in the other series. Now I’m finally starting at the beginning and my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner. 😉

In Vendetta, Sorren was the target of a powerful evil seeking revenge. In Tangled Web, the target is Teag, but more precisely, Teag’s power. As usual, he wasn’t the only one in danger because the witch seeking his power was prepared to take down anyone close to him that stood in their way.

Books and series with a strong sense of family and loyalty always draw me in and that’s especially true with this series. The evil forces in Tangled Web had equally evil and strong allies, but so did Teag, Sorren and Cassidy. Teag’s weaver magic was strong, but with the help of those around him, it was even stronger. They also gained some help from some unexpected sources.

Before they could fight the source, they had to figure out how all the strange things happening in and around Charleston were connected. Needless to say, there was very little down time, which kept the pages turning and made Tangled Web almost impossible to put down. Magic, mythology, demons, witches, ghosts, vampires, necromancy and even some zombies thrown into the mix – pretty much something for everyone – including a little romance. 😉

They’ve defeated another dark power, but there’s still more to come. Inheritance is next up in the Deadly Curiosities series and it’s moving quickly up on my TBR pile.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Tangled Web. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had not heard of this series when I saw this book on netgalley, and I was excited to check it out. The basic premise is that Cassidy Kincaide and her business partners live in Charleston where they and their friends keep ghosts and other supernatural creatures at bay. Although this was book #3 in the series, I never felt lost - it was fine as a stand alone. (I'll look up and read the first two though.)

The story was spooky - ghosts and other beings are appearing around the city, and objects as well as horses and hounds are disappearing.

I liked the group of friends and how they all depended on each other. They had all sorts of different magic. I liked the mystery too.

This was not my first ride in to the dark of the deadly curiosities on display in the world so wonderfully crafted by Gail. Although this was my first full-length venture in to the world of deadly things that bring Cassidy, Teag, and Sorren together in a antiques shop of curiosities most of which are dangerous, deadly, forbidden.

In Tangled Web, we find that Cass, Teag, Sorren will need all the help they can get to deal with the storm coming their way. I have to say that my favorite part of the story (outside the super narration) was the characters, their bonds, their complexities, their individual characteristics. Then there was the fab-world building for modern-day Charleston, SC with all the extras (paranormal and fantasy) in place. The intrigue in the plot and the mystery of following how it all played out.

Narration for me added an additional layer of enjoyment with this adventure at Trifles & Folly or should I say in Charleston, SC and the entire east coast America. The audio was smooth and flowing. The diction, tone, and pitch allowed for distinction in characters and set-up or downs for the ebbs and flows of the story.

Another really good story in Gail Z. Martin's Deadly Curiosities series. As always, the setting is in Charleston, SC, and specifically in the Trifles and Folly antique shop, where Cassidy Kincaide and her best friend, Teag Logan work with Cassidy's silent partner Soren, a 600 year old vampire. Their goal is to take cursed and other evil objects out of circulation.

This time, there is a lot going on. It seems like everyone in Charleston is snappy and unpleasant, which is far from the normal friendly politeness the city is noted for. When zombies start showing up in the local cemeteries, things only get worse. And to top it off, Teag's all too real nightmares about being chased by dogs and horses are starting to show up in the day time, and not just to him.

The source of the problem is something they have never dealt with before, and they will need the help of all of their friends to finally resolve things.

The book is set in the old part of Charleston and has Cassidy and her friends dealing with all sorts of paranormal activity. Cassidy runs Trifles & Folly, a very old antiques and curio shop with Teag, a Weaver who can weave magic into materials and Maggie, a normal person who has some knowledge of their work and world. The shop belongs to Sorren, an old vampire, with other outlets in various other USA cities. Cass has the gift of being able to read the resonance of objects and tell if they have good or evil memories attached and when touching them, can see a vision of its history and who it may have belonged to.

They have other characters to call on for help, Donnelly a Necromancer; Mrs Teller a master Weaver and mentor for Teag; Lucinda a Voudan mambo; Rowan a powerful witch; Father Anne a local priest who can bless their various charms; and Kell and his group of paranormal investigator, who alert them to strange happenings around town. Kell is Cassidy’s boyfriend and Anthony, a lawyer, is Teag’s boyfriend.

Cassidy and Teag are called into strange occurrences and notice how the mood of normal people throughout the city seems to have become negative and argumentative. Lots of fighting, not the normal Charleston friendly welcome, something they nickname ‘grouch flu’. They are called to zombies rising from various cemeteries and being difficult to put back in their place, even for the necromancer on the team. Add in dead bodies, not recent ones either, falling from the skies and everyone soon realises this is not their normal paranormal incidents they usually deal with.

There are also nightmares and disappearances of people and animals involved in hunts throughout the region. Links to old historical events begin to appear and it seems the Master of the Hunt has been called back to start the next Hunt. Someone has planned to take down a particular group of people and in the plot have put all of Charleston and even the whole east coast of America in danger. The team must find out who this person is and will also need the help of ancient Norse and Viking beings to overcome this evil plot.

An interesting read, which introduces you to each of the characters and also gives you a good bit of background on them as well. There are a good assortment of paranormal beings brought to the story, with a vampire, necromancer, witch, weavers and even the normal people, who aid those with magic and have been brought into the fold of secret magical knowledge. There is something happening nearly all the time and the story builds up the clues as to who might be behind all the strange events, in a logical manner, but also with a few wrong paths along the way.

I look forward to reading some more of this series, the characters are all likeable and it’s not just all magical beings working together, here normal humans are of great importance and help as well. Easy to read and I read it in one sitting. I received an ARC copy of this book from Hidden Gems and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This action packed Urban Fantasy is full of strong characters. My rating 4.25.

Cassidy can read history by touching objects. She is part of a group of friends who protect Charleston from supernatural threats. Her gentle business partner, Teag, uses Weaver magic to create fabrics that heal and protect. His personal partner is a local police officer who is aware of the magical world but tries to operate without making the magic known to the public. Sorren is the senior business partner as a 600-year-old vampire who has years of knowledge and connections in the supernatural realm.

Charleston is experiencing an unprecedented rise in supernatural activities. Cassidy and friends are already looking into a ghostly horse hunt going on with the alarming sound of galloping horses and baying dogs. Then they are asked to investigate when several hunting horses go missing by vanishing at the local horse hunting stable. Cassidy and Teag are soon dodging zombies from the cemetery and working around citizens with a “grouch flu”. Next Cassidy suffers a firsthand attack and her friends, plus a master weaver and local witch, gather to face the dark threat.

Clues lead to an angry weaver-witch who is seeking to raise a powerful Norse warlock so she can take revenge against those who have hurt her – particularly some in the horse community. It will take all the resources Cassidy and friends can pull together, including some from Sorren’s past, in order to prevail in this magical battle.

I enjoyed the fast action of the story. This is the first story I have read in the series, so it took me a little bit to sort through the many characters. Cassidy and her friends are well developed characters. None are presented as ‘superheroes’ on their own but they make a formidable team. The plot is well written with twists and turns to pursue to uncover the source of the evil and locate the hidden villains. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy fast-paced Urban Fantasy.

I love this series, so buy it in hardcopy as I’m able. The world building is fabulous and detailed. I enjoy the mix of contemporary urban fantasy/paranormal set against the rich supernatural history of Charleston. Sorren brings his own history into the mix too, as do the visions Cassidy has.

The supernatural threats feel very real, and very dangerous, which makes the story a page turner. Although, being a series brings with it character backstories, I never feel as though the author is info dumping for new readers, and this story opens with Cassidy and Teag in the middle of trouble and a fight with a dangerous supernatural.

I like how the characters grow with each new story, and how their friendships and relationships deepen over the series. It’s not only the main characters who come with a full fleshed out background but their expanding group of friends and allies too. I enjoyed seeing more of Kell in this story, and his and Cassidy’s relationship growing. Teag is one of my favourite characters in this series, so I was very happy that his weaver magic played a big part in it. I felt for Anthony in the way he’s been thrown into all of this because of his relationship with Teag. I love them together as a couple.

Archibald Donnelly is an interesting character and I love the idea of the Briggs Society. Father Anne rocks, as do Mrs Teller, Chuck, Alicia, Rowan, Lucinda, and Maggie. I like how they work together, and look out for each other. I liked seeing more of SPOOK, the paranormal investigation group that Kell is head of, in this story too.

I love how well researched and detailed the supernatural foes are, and how the story comes together for the final showdown, with everyone playing their part to bring down the bad guys. I very much like how there are consequences for using magic, and that they don’t come through these fights unscathed.

I’d recommend this story to readers who enjoy urban fantasies set against a rich history of myths and legends with fabulous world building, interesting characters, and a story that keeps you turning pages.

I love, love, LOVE this series!!! Every book has been terrific, and this one was no different. One of my absolute favourite paranormal series, and highly recommended with a number of great aspects.

First and foremost, Cassidy, one of the three main characters, and the only female, is a smart, strong, capable female character who can always hold her own with her merry band of paranormal friends, when monster ass-kicking is required. I love strong female characters, and Cassidy is one.

I also love the world-building this author creates. She obviously does her research where various traditions of religion and magic are concerned, and it is neat to learn more about those things as various members of Cassidy's extended family of magical friends are called in to help with various adventures. There are voodoun practitioners, witches, weavers, and plenty of other magical folks who help out when needed and we always get a bit of an education about those traditions along the way. If you like paranormal fiction it's enjoyable to be exposed to new and different aspects to keep things fresh and interesting.

The action and suspense in this series is great. There is plenty of of both, as well as character development for a reader to sink their teeth into with this series, and the pacing is perfect to keep you reading. I always have a hard time putting a new Trifles and Folly book down once I start it because they are just so good!

My only complaint is that there aren't more books in the series. I understand authors need time to write new books, but I love this series and would read as many books as she can write, as quickly as she can get them out!

With the exception of the short stories involving Soren in the Trifles & Folly collections, I think this was my favorite of the series so far. It was complicated without being convoluted and not terribly predictable. And because I have a thing for Soren, I was glad to see his periodic involvement. The cast of characters is getting more fleshed out in general. They seem to be a bit more realistic in this as well, as actual people with weaknesses, trauma and a need to deal with the real world sometimes. They even curse from time to time more often now - not a ton, but a few mild understandable reactions.
The one weakness that continued in this book is that there was an inconsistency or two in between this book & the previous & occasionally within the book - I think the authors could use another editor at times, just for tiny continuity bits, and there was occasional unnecessary repetition in this one. In the Trifles & Folly collections, repetition makes sense at least some of the time, b/c the stories were written to be individually read. In this, it's one single work, so the repetition isn't necessary, once everyone is reintroduced.
I still enjoyed it - and again, I think this was my favorite all in all.
The narration was pretty good - I think some of the voices were slightly different between this one & previous ones - Teague's voice seemed a bit deeper, but not wrong, per se. I still don't know about the accents given to some characters, but for the most part, I could tell who was talking & the overall tone was good.

Tangled Web is the 3rd novel in the Deadly Curiosities series. I was drawn into the story from the very first sentence and engaged until I closed the final page. The Wild Hunt, ancient evil, vengeful dark witches, cursed fabric, ghostly horses and hounds - and that doesn't even cover all of what's going on! As with the first two novels, I really, really like the character development, especially the strong, smart women like Cassidy and Mrs. Teller and Rowan and Maggie and...(I'm not opposed to strong male characters either (and quite like them), we have plenty of those here as well, but yuck on the freaked out, fainting females I've seen elsewhere); the characters interactions are refreshing - they all share knowledge and friendship and stay connected to one another; I love the setting - Charleston continues to intrigue me, both the real and invented history, and I want to hop in my car and head out to visit(I STILL want to visit Angel Oak!); I love the glorious and decidedly different kinds of magic used throughout - and Cassidy and Teag's journeys to learn to use their gifts.
My recommendation? Read them all! Deadly Curiosities, Vendetta and Tangled Web. And Trifles and Folly and Trifles and Folly2 (those are next on my list!) And then head to Gail's webpage and look into the other e-stories for this series.
For now, I'm going to pour myself a big glass of sweet tea, gather my dogs for a snuggle on the couch and start at the beginning again! :)

Finished the audio (via hoopla) well after midnight because I needed to know what was going to happen next. Loved it.

The story is several months after the last novella in the series. We are seeing everyone become stronger with their gifts and talents. There are the first hints of characters in other series in this universe, specifically, Mark from Spells, Salt, & Steel. It isn't an on-page meeting, but we know he's out there. And we get a re-visit from a big-bad that Sorren fought in one of his prequel stories. The way it all tied together was so cool.

The group they've gathered together is amazing. It may be all from Cassidy's POV, but Teag is just as much of a main character to me. We get ample research time and personal progress on-page, and then plenty of action/adventure. The lore and history set the stage for some really cool battle scenes. I actually feel sorry for some of the human baddies in this one. Tragedy can move people to do horrible things before they even have time to stop and think about what they are doing. And I think that juxtaposition is one of the most common themes in this series. These books amaze me on how consistent they are. While each one has the same overall feel, the the content is oh-so different.

Review of TANGLED WEB by Gail Z. Martin
(Deadly Curiosities #3)

I haven't read Urban Fantasy in quite a while but find this series a great reason to delve in again. Set in Charleston SC, a city with a rich and varied history of several centuries, magic is afoot and sometimes treacherous. Cassidy is a psychometric, a person who reads objects and identifies their history and their magic. She, her assistant manager, and her business partner are the defense line against magical predators: not just in their city of Charleston, but throughout the world. When they encounter evil utilizing magic to upend the world as we know it, Cassidy, Teag, and Sorren will act—strongly and effectively...Or we'll all suffer the consequences.

Readers who've enjoyed the former television series “Friday the 13th The Series,” about the antique/curio shop and the uncle, niece, and nephew who track down accursed artifacts and return them to safety in the shop, will adore the Deadly Curiosities Series by Gail Z. Martin.

This could be a case of its me and not the story, for me this was a slow excruciatingly dull read, too many descriptors for everything. Every time a character did something, said something or looked at something we got the full information dump. I got bored very quickly had to force myself to finish it because it was an ARC.

Due to so much information overload I had a hard time connecting with the characters. There were times things would flow and we would be allowed to use our own imagination to fill in some of the blanks and I would get the small bits of chemistry between Cassidy, Teag and Sorren.

The writing is easy to read and there are some nice building moments, for me however the story could be tightened by the writer giving us the outlines and having us use a bit more of our own imagination to fill in the blanks instead of them trying to cover everything for us and diluting what would be a quick paced, action packed story and making it a bit of a slog to get through.

I received an ARC from hidden gems and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I have not read the previous books in this series, but I feel this worked well as a stand-alone. There are some hints of previous events, but not so much that I felt lost or too much recap to drag the story down.

I really liked the paranormal elements in the story. The pacing was okay, but there were times that seemed to drag a bit while they were trying to figure out what was going on. Cassidy has good personality for this type of mystery, courageous and comfortable with her abilities without being brash or taking unnecessary risks. I liked the other characters as well, especially Teag (but I have a fascination with Weaver magic that doesn't show up enough in books). I really like how everyone brought a different strength to the team, it wasn't all about one character just riding in to save the day but rather had a team feel to the whole story.

It will be interesting to read some of the other stories and see how the characters got to this point.

Cassidy Kincaide is my favourite character from a book that I have read or listened to lately. She is a strong, witty female character. I cannot wait to go back and listen to the first books in the series. This one works well on it's on though.
One of the other things that really impressed me was the detail that went into describing everyone's separate magical talents. Very interesting and informative.
Therese Plummer did a fantastic job narrating this book, there is so much suspense and she kept it at a good tension level. She made it easy to keep track of the various characters.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Gail Z. Martin. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Absolutely loved this book! I wish I had known this was part of a series going into it, but even as a standalone, it was fantastic! I just adored Cassidy and Teag! Their characters were so relatable and well developed. I found the storyline to be a total guessing game til the end; I wasn't sure of who the antagonist was until the near end of the book, which was great. I'll definitely be reading the earlier novels, so I can sort of play catch up on what has happened to date. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense of trying to figure out why the entire town of Charleston was behaving downright nasty and hostile, as well as discovering the intricacies of the old Nordic aspects. 100% worth the read! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy via Hidden Gems.

I have read several of Mrs. Martin's books in several genres and she always does a great job. Crazy things are going on in the little town of Charleston, SC. People are coming back from the dead and people are randomly attacking each other for no reason. Ghosts are being more violent and seen more often. Trifles and Follies is an antique shop in Charleston that secretly is run by a pair of supernatural hunters named Cassidy and Teag. Cassidy and Teag along with their friends (a priest, a necromancer and a vampire) work together to solve the mystery of what is going wrong in the city. This is book three in the Deadly Curiosity's series and I have not read the previous books but I had no difficulty understanding the story. A fast paced entertaining book.

Cassidy and Teague were struck by how unfriendly their fellow Charlestonians were acting. There were the thefts at museums, archives and local historical homes. They started keeping tracks of problems that involved woven fabrics. And then there were Teague's nightmares. the final straw was the multiple encounters with zombie creatures and zombies rising from certain graveyards. But the more they hunted, the crazier the picture seemed to be. Will Cassidy and her posse be able to find the thread that will unravel the web of evil enveloping the city? Or will they fail and the city goes under?

A nicely atmospheric book read well with the voices distinctive and appropriate. Listen and enjoy!

The premise behind this series - objects carrying remnants of the thoughts and energies of those in contact with them in the past - has intrigued me from the first story I read. The idea and the connections to real life locations make the plots realistic and believable, even with fantasy element thrown in. Add to that the characters and the way they have developed as the storylines have progressed, and this book is a definite win. This particular tale concentrates more on Teag and his unique weaver magic, though the other favorite characters are still around. It's an easy read, fortunate since it's difficult to put down.

Full disclosure: I was a beta-reader for this book.

In this third book in the Deadly Curiosities series, Cassidy, Teague and Sorren find themselves up against an angry and vengeful witch, whose powers mirror Teague's. She also calls up some otherworldly help to plot the terror she wants to cover the city and the fatal, final revenge on her family.
Urban fantasy is magic in the real, current day world, from visions to ghosts to 8oo-year-old vampires. And nobody makes it as real as Gail Martin.
Her characters are well rounded and realistic, the action is tense from the first line and the climax will have you leaving permanent grip marks on your Kindle. I can't recommend this series enough.

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet psychometric and antiques owner Cassidy along with her weaver bff, Teag fighting the monsters that go bump in the night. But when ppl mysteriously start being grumps, along with cursed items and stolen energy from artifacts.. they know they are up against smtg big and dangerous. Its the anniversary of charleston's Hunt for thr clubs and animals have disappeared. Not only that, the local ghosts are terrified..but of what? Cassidy and teag along with their friends try to uncover the facts about the Wild Hunt other than the fables. Will they succeed or will the world be taken over by evil?

I chosed this book from NetGalley because of the cover and the description, vampires and magic are my thing. I found some parts a little slow, I would like to know more about the characters and I would like also a little more romance.. I loved that the vampire wasn't described as a stereotype and I found interesting all the part about magic. After reading the book I discovered that this is the third book of a series and so I don't know if the parts I felt were missing are actually in the previous two books. Anyway you can definetivly read this one as it was a stand alone book and enjoy it as I did.

Tangled Web is the third installment from the Deadly Curiosities series. Gail Z Martin's weaves together one spooky and mysterious tale. I had the pleasure of listening to the audio version of this book. I enjoyed hearing Therese Plummer's voice performing how this story is supposed to be told. I loved how she portrayed the characters. I kept finding myself continuously wanting to hear what would happen next.
I would love to read the other books from the Deadly Curiosities series. I give this one a well deserved five plus stars. I recommend it.
I received the audio version of this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

The third book in the series, I haven’t read the other two but felt that this can be read as a standalone, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything.
Cassidy is the main character; she works with her friends dealing with ghosts and supernatural beings.
I was captured from early on, I do like books that are a bit on the spooky side and this definitely had that. The storyline was great, it flowed nicely and the characters were likeable.
I gave this a 4 stars because I did really enjoy the storyline, it was one of the best I have heard for a while, however, I didn’t click with the narrator, I felt that she could have given more expression, It seemed kind on monotone. Therefore I am going to read the book too, so I get the expression that is lacking from my imagination.

Things never seem to slow down for Cassidy & Teag, business partners by day, world saviors....whenever they have to be. Their patron is a very old, vampire named Sorren. In their 3rd installment of their adventures together, they need a little help to figure out who called up and top stop Wild Hunt What's the best way to stop an ancient evil...well of course with the help of a few friends, time traveling necromancer, and the spirit of an ancient sorceress. This book is a page turner and I was up all night reading it. This is the type of series you can read over and over again!
