I built my detective career taking down the strangest bad guys in Earth Sector.
No matter how crazy the case, I always managed to get it off the books.
After 20 years of pounding my beat, I was ready to pack it in, and I’d called it a day.
Then these killings started, weird to the point of freaked out PD Chiefs, and only one person who fit the case.
So much for retirement.
You'd think 20 years of weird would have you weirded out. But crime scenes are not the only weird out there, and expanding your experience of weird isn’t for the faint hearted.
The story I'm going to tell you covers 2 years of my life, and took me from one end of human space to the other.
And that’s when the weird really starts, out on the edge, where space is owned now by Jonathon Hunter, and I get his best people to work with.

Timothy Ellis lives on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia; where he constantly battles with his cat for possession of his desk chair, Daleks do guard duty, and he keeps his sonic screwdriver next to his lightsaber and wand. Now there is a female Doctor Who, he eagerly awaits the sound of the Tardis materializing in his house.
He has spent his life reading and watching science fiction and fantasy, and has been playing Space Genre computer games since he used to be smuggled in to play the original text Star Trek game on a university mainframe, long before the PC or Apple appeared. Since 2004, he's written game guides for the Egosoft X Universe series, culminating in two versions of the X3 Handbook. He has also designed major mods for the various games, and dozens of mini mods.
He has been a farm worker, Antique Dealer, Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, Operations Manager of a small retail chain, and Retail Store Owner. He is now a full time author, who still does Spiritual Healer and helper work.
After leaving behind the corporate and business worlds, he was opened to his Spiritual gifts. Now a Feng Shui Master, Feng Shui led him to Buddhism, Karma, the Tao, and back to western spiritualism. Since 2006 he has been writing spiritual articles and helping people via spiritual forums and Facebook Groups. His spiritual books include "Personal Healing Using Basic Meditation", "Life Harmony, Feng Shui in Plain English", '101 Tips for the John of God Brazil Experience', and "The Wisdom of the Ages is available for the price of asking a question" series of 8 books. This has a faulty premise.
The MC is meant to be a top notch detective. There is no support for this. The plotline twists are poorly hidden and the failures are not easily overlooked, so much as horribly incompetent. The Burnside character is a failure and that invalidates the whole book.

The Hunter Legacy Series.
I first read the series on my kindle unlimited account. I read them one after another till I had to wait for more to be published. I enjoyed them so much I went back to Amazon and bought all of the books on Kindle . I liked them that much and wanted to have my own copies. It is one of the best series of books i have read. The only problem is, once you start you will want to read them all and that takes a bit of time. Thank you Timothy Ellis! Oh and more please.

This is a very entertaining story with a very cool new character. Although it is WAY TOO SHORT for my liking, I am very glad Mr Ellis did not just merge this into another book as a kind of side-line. There is a very good foundation for personal development for Jane, one of my favorite characters. Again, way too short. My thanks also, to Kindle Unlimited.

Brilliant
What an awesome amazing story! I bought this book and started reading it on a rainy manky Saturday morning, and finished it on the same manky Saturday night. I couldn't put it down! I've never had that with a book before, and I've read a LOT of books. Simply brilliant Mr Ellis, as always.

An interesting little side story that introduces a new central character, there's still quite a bit of Mary Sueing going on but it was a welcome change from the non-stop winning in the rest of the series.

Another OutStanding Book
What a Great detective book set in Space and in the Jon Hunter era\series. It's getting to be that I can't put these books down, it's a good thing I'm retired LOL or if probably be unemployed. I love the way Jane and Janet are progressing.

Too many F-bombs.
Totally unnecessary to have cussing. Otherwise it was a creative story. Trench coat detective in space was fun. Cleaner vocabulary is better an shows more creativity.

Great stand alone detective story
The storyline was good the plot twists regret hands I loved the narrative of a classic. The detectives observations and thought processes often bounced around with the opportunity to review where the plot might be going.

Well that was a surprise. It annoyed me as I am making my way through the Hero books and this is a curve ball! Took me a few weeks to get over my anger 🤣 anyway I took the plunge yesterday and well, glad I did. Big twist and a good reason why Dick is involved in the series!!

So many angles and so many subplots are being handled nicely. I really enjoy how the possibility of mutation radiation and guilds play together. Looking forward to seeing how the economy of this new sector works.

First quarter is a bit droll before the tie-in to characters and plot we've read so far but then it picks up and hooked shortly after we get some of those familiar characters in.

Too Short

This was a nice little interlude in the main ‘Hunter Legacy’ series. The best part is the way Jane is one of the main characters and is becoming a fully sentient being, including a sex life.

Until the killer targets Jon Hunter and Jane goes into protective mode. Is Jane experimenting with human relationships using Detective Dick? Or, is it something more? I will be moving on to the next book now.
