By the age of nineteen, Ryske thought he’d be long gone from his pack in North Carolina. As an arctic wolf shifter in a pack of red wolves, he’s an outcast. When he finds himself thrown into a portal to another world, he’s in way over his head.
In a world where wolves once roamed with other shifters and mages, he competes to claim the princess’s hand, making him instant enemies with Dirk, a lion shifter. But what choice does Ryske have other than to fight for the princess when a wolf, not a lion, is destined to be crowned Alpha King?
That was quite an original read and my first read on shapeshifters. The story begins with the life of Ryske trying to sneak out of his pack. He is a shapeshifter and his animal is a wolf. The other wolves mock him and bully him but he is a fighter. One day, a storm hits and he is thrown into a world in which he doesn't know the rules. He is hurt and rescued by some royals. He doesn't trust anyone at first but after a battle, he claims a girl to save her from an awful fate. He becomes king and he struggles with his new position but his wife and friends are always there to help him. There is an evil lion shapeshifter who tries to take over the kingdom by kidnapping Ryske's son. Will he be able to take his son back? What is this world he has fallen into? Magic and shapeshifters in an epic battle that will cost Ryske everything if he fails. I loved that the book was unique. I have never read a book like this and I would recommend it to everyone. Don't forget to leave a review.

A heartfelt story of a wolf who stood out as different in his family and being rejected, unloved and abused because of it. He was an arctic white wolf in a pack of red wolves. It’s interesting, not only what happens to him, but what his childhood persecutions mold him into.
This has a great plot that was executed beautifully, I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are written with such depth and individuality. I adored Ryske and loved watching his romance blossom, and his love for those around him. He was truly a good man, who learned from the failures of those around him.
A wonderful standalone that left me feeling satisfied and glad to have the book in my library to read again, when I need a good feel-good story. Although it does get emotional and nerve-wracking at times, overall it is a feel-good story.
The characters were awesome. I completely enjoyed reading and getting to know each character and their roles in the story.
The storyline was incredible. This story was very well written and I enjoyed the plot of this read. It was a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it!!
Loves the story very addictive. I love how it the storyline makes life better for him but with trials. Would totally read again as well as anything else about this series.
When I started to read Alpha King, I almost put it down. But I'm not one to easily give up. I'm not a big fan of shifter stories, but this one? After pushing myself to read through the first chapter, I was hooked. I was hooked by Ryske, and his vulnerability.
"I'd cried from physical pain many times and once in despair as a young pup, but it had been a long time since the last episode. I'd tried to detach myself from feeling. Feeling only created more hurt, and I'd grown tired of hurting...and hoping."
Alpha King is a fast-paced story, filled with mated love, different shifters and finding your place.
"Every acceptance in this world seemed like a dream after my life on Earth. Tolerance had been a nice thought there, but even here where I remained different from everyone else, acceptance was the norm. I'd found my way home, and I never wanted to leave."
I really liked the characters. So generous, genuine and accepting.
