Araxi’s combination of local produce and an incredible natural setting are surpassed by few. From its front door is a view of Whistler Village and two of the highest skiable peaks in North America, a site of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Chef Gordon Ramsay declared Araxi the best restaurant in Canada and went on to feature the restaurant in his show, Hell's Kitchen.

Highlighting Whistler’s two distinct seasons — summer and winter — the Araxi cookbook shows off the flavors of the Pacific Northwest with recipes such as Grilled Asparagus Salad with Sherry Vinaigrette and a Crispy Egg; Miso-Crusted Sablefish with Smoked Tuna Broth and Soba Noodles; and Chocolate Caramel Pots de Crème with Milk Chocolate–Almond Biscotti. A harvest menu features dishes using only ingredients grown or raised within 100 miles of the restaurant.

Quite an art book, with wonderful food photography. I surmise this book is mainly geared toward other professional chefs, each recipe is quite well done, tasty sounding and artfully presented. But...am i going to make these for at home consumption? Probably not. i definitely want to visit the restaurant in Whistler BC on my next trip.
